In 2026, we are excited to open our new campsite! Maes Gwennol Camping is a small, peaceful and spacious campsite set within a 30-acre ecological cohousing community, just 3 miles from Cardigan (Aberteifi) and 6 miles from the sea. Surrounded by meadows, wildlife and far-reaching views, this off-grid, low-impact campsite offers plenty of space to relax and reconnect with nature. We steward our land to regenerate ecosystems and support wildlife. Public footpaths lead directly from the site through a secluded river valley, woodland and the wider landscape, making it an ideal base for walkers, nature lovers and anyone looking to experience the beauty of West Wales at a slower pace. The campsite is also just a 20-minute walk from the National Eisteddfod site at Llantood, making it a convenient and peaceful place to stay during the festival. We have 5 pitch areas, 2 separate campervan spaces and 1 bell tent, ensuring a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of room between guests. Each pitch accommodates up to 8 people, you can decide how many tents and there is at least 10 metres between pitches. There is loads of space to play games and relax and the car park is in the field opposite. Facilities are simple and low impact and include compost toilet and outdoor washing-up area. Campfires are welcome in our fire pit areas, allowing you to enjoy evenings under the stars. We encourage guests to tread lightly and enjoy the land respectfully. As part of our low-impact approach, we do not provide refuse collection, so guests are asked to take home any recycling and non-compostable waste. Compostable materials can be placed in the compost toilet system. If you are travelling by foot or by bike, let us know and we can dispose of your waste- please leave it near the entrance to the campsite. When available, we can offer seasonal vegetables, fruit, cider and eggs from our free-range chickens, produced within the community. From the campsite you can easily explore Cardigan and the surrounding countryside...the beaches, coastal paths, the Teifi River and Teifi marshes reserve and wildlife of the Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion coast. Whether you're visiting for the Eisteddfod, exploring the coast, walking local footpaths or simply seeking a peaceful place to camp, Maes Gwennol offers a simple, spacious and nature-focused camping experience in a beautiful corner of West Wales.

An ideal location for exploring all that Snowdonia has to offer. Close to incredible beaches, mountains, Portmeirion and Zipworld. Or just stay put and enjoy the view! Ideal for individuals or small to medium size groups. There is a horse box that sleeps 2 on a high bed above the cab and has a kitchenette/dining space. There are 3 camp areas, one is quite large. All are less than 25 metres from the parking area. Basic facilities; a compost toilet and a tap. This is usually a self check in site and all sites need to be left clean and tidy for the next guests. This is a simple and unspoilt site that offers a tranquil setting, with sounds of nature and amazing views. There are many beautiful beaches and lakes close by, castles, steam trains, mountains, historic buildings and pilgrim churches, water sports, national cycle route and the coastal path. Within 20 minutes by car, bus or train are Harlech, Porthmadog, Tremadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog (zip world). Snowdon walk is half an hour’s drive away. Plenty to do! For local services, 2 miles away in different directions are two villages. Talsarnau has a pub and Penrhyndeudraeth has 2 small supermarkets, post office, several cafes, restaurants and takeaways, 2 pubs and a petrol station. Porthmadog is a few minutes further by car, bus or train and has extensive services and facilities. The property is accessed via a steep narrow lane, with passing places, about 1/2 mile from the A496 road. By public transport, there is a train station and a bus stop in Llandecwyn on the main road. National cycle route 8 passes our property gate. Llyn Tecwyn lake is a few minutes walk up the lane, with Llandecwyn church above that. A little further away are more lakes and reservoirs, the Rhinog mountains with Bryn Cader Faner and a temperate rain forest Coed Felinrhyd. All are lovely hikes from our property.

Our beautiful home is a glamping and camping site with its own gorgeous fishing lake on the outskirts of the village of Llandyfan. You can find us to the west of the Brecon Beacons or Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. Llandyfan Campsite has been lovingly re-established in early 2024 by Andy and Jo. Since taking ownership, we have rolled up our sleeves and got stuck into restoring it to its former glory and will soon be back to being a fully operational slice of Welsh heaven. Our first focus has been the fishing lake which we opened in March. The campsite followed in May. We are currently working on electric hook ups and other improvements. We have chickens on site that roam free during the day. They are friendly and like to wander around the tents to say hello to our guests! We would like everyone who visits to have a great time and a relaxing break. Whilst here please be considerate towards others, to their property, and while using the facilities. If you have any concerns, please let us know. We have brought out a few rules from our T&Cs and we kindly ask that you have a read through before your stay. Litter: You must pick up your litter. Please either take it with you or recycle it appropriately in the bins onsite. There are recycling bins on the campsite, it is your responsibility to recycle. Pitches to be left as you found them. Noise: Be respectful and consider your neighbours. Keep noise to a minimum after 10pm and before 8am in the morning. No loud music is to be played at any time. Children: Children must be supervised at all times around the campsite and can play within the pitch space allocated to you. At quiet times, it may be possible for children to use vacant pitches for play but this cannot be guaranteed. The amenity block and associated facilities are not to be used as a play area. Dogs: Must not to be left unattended. Are to be kept on leads at all times whilst on the campsite. (We are working on an enclosed dog walking area, however this is not yet available). no refunds on bookings if cancelled withing 10days of booking

Had a lovely two-night stay in Tŷ Touareg at Maes Gwennol. It was absolutely perfect for what I needed – a peaceful place to relax and unwind. The compost loo and facilities were clean and well looked after, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. As a nature lover, it was a real treat to see and hear swifts, swallows (of course), barn owls, tawny owls, and bats during my stay. The campsite is also in a great location, just a short drive from Teifi Marshes, Poppit Sands, Mwnt, and Cardigan, making it an ideal base for exploring both Ceredigion and north Pembrokeshire. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and would happily recommend Maes Gwennol to anyone looking for a quiet, nature-filled getaway.

The site was fantastic. Stunning location, walking distance of plenty of walks. All the different camping sections had plenty of space and Sarah was supper friendly and helpful. When we got back too late for the shop, Sarah left wood out for us so we could have a fire (paid the following day). Easy to check in and out. Our yurt was clean, spacious and all the essentials were provided. The midges were in force, but supplies available at the shop to keep them at bay.

We had a fantastic time staying in the Butterfly bell tent. Very nicely decorated and situated. Pridie was super helpful and great at communicating. Happy to highly recommend!

Each 5m bell tent has a double futon with mattress topper, bed linen for the double, and two additional inflatable mattresses (you will need to bring bedding for these.)

The bell tents here were beautifully set out and very spacious from other campers so it's very private! The sauna was gorgeous with a cold plunge shower and drinking water provided. To go back to the tent with fire wood, all in all made a relaxed and charming night. The hosts were lovely and will be definitely returning ta some point!

Weekend Trip to Treflach Farm

We really enjoyed our stay with Stef and Ian with four friends sharing the yurt (one double bed and two camp beds pre-made for us). The private space is secluded from other parts of the farm and the views are beautiful to wake up to each morning. We really appreciated the facilities available, including a pizza oven, bbq, sink with running water, electricity, hot plate, dishes, cutlery, wooden bench seating and a private compost toilet. We also had access to the main shower and toilet block, just a short walk uphill and the onsite bar and honesty shop (great for a top up of fire wood). The only thing that we would have benefitted from is an area of shade or tarp that could be pulled over the seating area, as we lucked out with the weather being so warm! Thank you both. We would definitely recommend and may very well be back for a return visit in the future.

Wild meadows is a serene, tranquil slice of heaven, truly majestic in its beauty and simplicity. The Shepherds was perfect, clean, tidy, comfortable and everything we wanted and needed. Waking up in the morning with the birds singing and the sound of the stream was heavenly, only to be enhanced by sitting at the stream and enjoying breakfast. Highly recommend this beautiful haven of heaven for a peaceful getaway to anyone.
