We are restoring our land to a wildflower meadow and other nature friendly habitat, but allowing use of one field for seasonal camping and occasionally larger gatherings. We are in an ideal spot for cyclists and walkers exploring the coast of Wales (we are a short diversion from the national coast path). Low carbon travellers are welcome, with Pwllheli train station about 5 miles away and we are also on the main Pwllheli to Aberdaron bus route. We can accommodate a limited number of vehicles including camper vans and smaller motor homes (please check size with us first to ensure your motorhome is not too wide for our track). The field is accessed by a good quality track which bypasses the house and garden and goes direct into the field. So we can accommodate cars, tents and camper vehicles, however larger vehicles may struggle with the initial access to our priority which is narrow, so please contact us first to check this out with us. There is an outdoor tap for water by the house and a composting ‘eco’ loo in the camping field. In the near future we will be installing a water supply in the camping area. We can also provide a bbq/ fire pit but ask that you source your own fuel. Exclusive whole site group bookings are possible. **new for 2024 : we have a family size bell tent and a large teepee available for hire, fully set up for you, with or without bedding. please send us an enquiry in advance** There is a wealth of wonderful footpaths, interesting landmarks and fantastic beaches in the nearby area. The villages of Abersoch and Llanbedrog are nearby with a choice of pubs and eateries, Pwllheli has a range of larger shops. Local eggs and other produce can be bought locally too, and there is both a farm shop and village post office/general store. We can help you with finding what you need. The Peacock Shepherds Hut was amazing. The views are incredible and the hut was really comfortable and well thought out from the lovely Peacock details to underfloor heating. The facilities provided everything I needed to enjoy a peaceful break. Fantastic place to relax and reset listening to birds and enjoying the roaming peacocks and wandering down to see the Alpacas. Carol makes you feel so welcome. I will definitely be recommending this place to friends.

I loved the Boy John. There was so much attention to detail in everything on board. Very comfortable bed and plenty of lighting. Also clear instructions around the site, regarding water, showers, toilets etc. All facilities very clean. Nothing compares to having your own little bit of coastline !!

Another wonderful trip to this site. This was our second trip here in a few weeks. It is very handy for Colwyn Bay and Llandudno. The site itself is peaceful, the facilities are well maintained and the hosts are very friendly. We had another couple of fun nights with a campfire roaring and loads of safe space for the kids to run around and play.

I absolutely loved staying at Menter Y Felin Uchaf camping site over the recent August Bank Holiday. The site is characterful with beautiful views. I particularly enjoyed the tranquillity of the site which made for a truly relaxing break. I happened to be staying when a storytelling evening took place and this was a highlight of my stay.

The meadow camping at Menter Y Felin Uchaf is brilliant. Each small pitch is cut into high sweeping meadowgrasses. Meaning you can just about see the neighbours but are pretty well secluded. NIce communal firepit with solar lighting. ( firewood and kindling available) Dark Skies !! almost no light pollution saw the milky way very clearly. Good location for end of the Llyn beaches or walks

Loved Pitch 4. We had two small tents and we still had plenty of space. We had the benefit of getting a shade from the hedge behind our tent. Overall, a great experience at Felin Uchaf. We had the perfect weather for the weekend. Facilities such as toilets and hot showers were great. Plenty of things to do around the area, cafe, beaches, and beautiful sunsets. Highly recommend this campsite!

This was a delightful, family friends, peaceful and fun place to stay, The hosts are wonderfully welcoming, and our children loved being here as much as we did. We spent every evening enjoying the campfire. We were reccomended a lovely walk up the hill where the sunset was beautiful. Facilities are great, clean and well kept. We will definitely return.

I can’t adequately express how wonderful our stay with Callie and Gwyn was. The camping meadow was serene with picturesque views of the sea and surrounding hills. The camping amenities such as toilets and showers were immaculately clean and which was welcome after a long day of hiking. There is also a bonus of a converted barn with fridge/freezer, games, and shelter from rain if needed. Perhaps most notable about this stay were the fantastic chats we had with the hosts who were keen to share their love for the local area with handy tips and hints. This will be perhaps the first campsite we definitely will return to. Thank you both for such a fantastic stay, we can’t wait to return!

Weekend Trip to Wild Penllŷn Camping Field

We had so much fun at this campsite! The host was friendly, communicated with us clearly and promptly, and was so helpful with all of our (possibly silly) questions. We opted in for some extra firewood on the night, which was an amazing way to spend a starry night on the Welsh coast. The pitches were perfect, just the right size, and decently spread out from others as well, so you had some privacy. The site is away from the mainroads, so feels cozy and hidden away, but is also right next to Abersoch (within walking distance) and just a short drive from the more urban Pwllheli. All in all a wonderful trip. We plan on doing it again next year, and will definitely be using this site again. Couldn't recommend enough!
