Our beautiful home is a glamping and camping site with its own gorgeous fishing lake on the outskirts of the village of Llandyfan. You can find us to the west of the Brecon Beacons or Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.
Llandyfan Campsite has been lovingly re-established in early 2024 by Andy and Jo. Since taking ownership, we have rolled up our sleeves and got stuck into restoring it to its former glory and will soon be back to being a fully operational slice of Welsh heaven.
Our first focus has been the fishing lake which we opened in March. The campsite followed in May. We are currently working on electric hook ups and other improvements.
We have chickens on site that roam free during the day. They are friendly and like to wander around the tents to say hello to our guests!
We would like everyone who visits to have a great time and a relaxing break. Whilst here please be considerate towards others, to their property, and while using the facilities. If you have any concerns, please let us know.
We have brought out a few rules from our T&Cs and we kindly ask that you have a read through before your stay.
Litter:
You must pick up your litter. Please either take it with you or recycle it appropriately in the bins onsite. There are bins around the campsite, please recycle where possible.
Pitches to be left as you found them.
Noise:
Be respectful and consider your neighbours. Keep noise to a minimum after 10pm and before 8am in the morning.
No loud music is to be played at any time.
Children:
Children must be supervised at all times around the campsite and can play within the pitch space allocated to you. At quiet times, it may be possible for children to use vacant pitches for play but this cannot be guaranteed. The amenity block and associated facilities are not to be used as a play area.
Dogs:
Must not to be left unattended.
Are to be kept on leads at all times whilst on the campsite. (We are working on an enclosed dog walking area, however this is not yet available).

Gwersyllfa Glyndŵr Campsite is a small, peaceful, family run and adult only site for walkers and cyclists. Located within walking distance of the historical market town of Machynlleth, we're a great base for exploring all that rural Mid West Wales has to offer. We're on the Glyndŵr National Walking Trail and the Wales Coast Path. There are many cycling trails of all levels nearby - from the Lon Las and Dyfi Bike Park to Ystwyth and Elan Trails.
A short bus ride from us are the Snowdonia National Park, Cader Idris and beautiful beaches of Cardigan Bay.
Our guests love the outdoors but like a little relaxation at the end of a day's activities, so we offer a some home comforts in the communal camping facilities barn which has a kitchenette with fridge, kettle, microwave and washing up area as well as an indoor seating area on the mezzanine level. Hot showers and toilets are available in the wet rooms also situated in the barn. You can unwind under the stars in the communal campfire area next to the camping field.
There's an outdoor sink on the camping field for cleaning muddy gear and a place to clean your bike if needed.
The nearby town offers independent shops, an art gallery and historical buildings. There are plenty of places to eat and drink, grocery shops and a petrol station where you can top up on supplies.
You'll get the best of both worlds at this secluded campsite which overlooks the Dyfi Valley's stunning scenery whilst being within stone's throw of local amenities.

Head west through Wales to the coast and somewhere by the south east corner of Ireland is the beautiful region of Pembrokeshire. Halfway between the smallest cathedral city in the realm and the site of the last invasion of Britain by their Gallic neighbours is the idyll of Sir Benfro. Once in Trevine or Trefin, there is a long bumpy lane with no tarmac. Watch that sat nav go into the blue, and you too can be Ar y Mwny.
Make your camp nestled on a gentle hillside, with panoramic views of the sea and countryside. Located just about as far away from any roads as its possible to get in this part of Pembrokeshire, yet still only a short walk to the coast via footpaths.
Being situated amongst several hundred acres of farmland, we not only have inspirational views but also the blessing of unobstructed sunrises and sunsets, followed by a wide open starscape.
Its possible to take the wildlife for granted, but across the seasons we can delight in the bird flocks, and casually greet the resident buzzards and foxes and the family of Jac y Do that have raised their young here over several decades. And now, the little birds are managing to flourish too. We live here in harmony, and are thankful for the space. Forget that clock.

A fantastic place to camp. The facilities were great the welcome was lovely and the views amazing. Will definitely be back for a longer stay. Linda and hubby were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The facilities were clean and modern. The directions were clear and easy to follow. We enjoyed the fire pit and listening to the owls late into the evening. Will recommend to anyone looking to visit the area, and the eggs were delicious too.

We have just come back from a campervan 2 night trip to Panpwnton Campsite. We had a lovely time, it was very quiet as we were the only ones staying…. Probably due to the weather!
This meant we got a great spot right next to the river which was perfect.
The facilities were good. The location was great. We did a walk straight from the site on to part of Offa Dykes path and along to the Knuclas viaduct, great views along the way. We had thought we might get the train back just for fun, but they don’t run very often (would have been a 2hr wait) so walked back instead.
Site also easy walking distance to the local pub for an evening meal which was good too.
Very Dark walk back that evening meant for some great star gazing:-)

Panpwnton Farm is a lovely campsite. Very clean toilets and wash up facilities. I didn't use the showers as I only stayed a couple of nights, however they were spacious.
I will definitely be returning for a longer stay.
It's a lovely walk from the campsite to Knighton, alongside the river.
Trains do pass right along the side of the site but it didn't bother me or my dog. Easy access to Offa's Dyke.

Despite the weather we had a great few nights here. The facilities are clean and modern and the barn provided everything we could need, including some much needed shelter during the high winds and rain we experienced. Great campsite with plenty of space.

Absolutely beautiful spot, even better than the photos make out. Lesley showed us a more sheltered pitch and it was perfect. The walking straight from the site was amazing and the views from littlehangman down into the town were stunning. Paul provided us with a big bucket of logs and we kept the fire going for ages. Would 100% recommend :)

My family and I stayed at this picturesque site for 2 weeks and we had an amazing time. Lesley and her husband Paul were wonderful hosts, always happy to chat and a fountain of knowledge about the area. They kept the facilities clean even over a busy bank holiday weekend.
There were two flushing toilets and one portaloo (to save those at the top of the site from walking too far), two warm showers, washing up facilities and a lovely converted railway carriage that had electrical points and a fridge freezer. On the few days we had rain this carriage was a great space to eat or play board games.
The site has outstanding views overlooking the valley with combe martin bay. Alongside it is a public footpath taking you to great hangman and further Exmoor trails. You can walk to combe martin from here but it is a steep hill back up so bear that in mind if you take a lot of stuff to the beach. Also being up so high you get the spectacular views but it can be windy on occasions so bear the weather in mind when choosing your spot (you are not assigned a specific position so you can move if the weather changes).
What i really liked was that the site was not overcrowded even when fully booked as the hosts keep numbers low. This meant it was not noisy and you did not feel like you were on top of anyone. We would definitely come back here.

Aberdaron where there is a bakery opposite the Spar which makes really good pasties. Good for cycling from.

Where to go
Coed y Brenin Forest Park
At the northern extreme of Cardigan Bay sits the Coed y Brenin Forest Park, a hub of mountain biking paths, well-signposted hiking routes, and geocaching trails with on-site facilities and children's play areas. Routes are sometimes disrupted due to tree felling and although there are no camping facilities within the park itself, there are several nearby family-friendly caravan parks, private campgrounds, and holiday villages to enjoy.
Pembrokeshire Coast National Park
Just 35 minutes south of New Quay is the town of St Dogmaels, also known as the official gateway to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, an expanse of striking coastline with sandy beaches and a coastal path that takes 12 to 14 days to complete in its entirety. From canoeing and surfing, to hiking and biking, there’s plenty to keep adventurers occupied, while campers are also well-catered for by full-service caravan sites with sea views, campgrounds suitable for campervans, and en-suite glamping options.
Brecon Beacons National Park
Inland, the Brecon Beacons National Park with its stunning views, mountains, and Llangorse Lake, a watersports hotspot, is easily accessible from New Quay in just over an hour and a half. Hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking are activities available throughout the park, while stargazers can set up camp in the country’s only International Dark Sky Reserve. Choose from glamping yurts or static caravan sites suitable for the colder winter months and campgrounds with motorhome hook-ups where you can also pitch your tent.
When to go
A year-round destination on the West Wales coast, New Quay enjoys peak season (and the warmest weather) between June and September. However, the spring and early-autumn months are also pleasant. Just keep in mind that Wales is a wet country and plan for unexpected rainfall throughout the year. New Quay holds an annual music festival during late-July/ early-August, so book accommodation in advance if you happen to be in town that weekend.
Know before you go
- Bottlenose dolphins are common in the waters off New Quay and boat trips can help you get even closer to the action. You can also view them from the pier, within walking distance of the town centre.
- Once the home of poet Dylan Thomas, New Quay now has a Dylan Thomas trail which can be enjoyed year-round, although parts of it are only accessible at low tide.
- Thanks to the particularly scenic coastal roads in this area of Wales, it’s worth taking advantage of the Cardi Bach shuttle which runs between Cardigan and New Quay throughout the year, with reduced hours in winter.
- New Quay is small but well-stocked when it comes to camping supplies, so don’t panic if you’ve forgotten anything.
