Weekend Trip to Glan Y Mor Camping

Beautiful camping spot in the Black Mountains. Loved the separate pitches in the meadow, with plenty of space for the kids to run around. The swing and the stream were a hit for the kids, and lovely walks from the campsite. The facilities were basic, but fine for our needs and perfectly clean. Thank you for sharing your lovely farm.

We had a lovely stay here last weekend. Lots of little touches elevate this tucked away campsite above others. Highly recommend.

It was a beautiful setting. The convenience of the supermarket and Starbucks just up the lane were very handy. And we braved it walking to Dolgellau with 1 pram, 2 toddlers and no pavement - not for the faint hearted!!

Out of our 5 campsite trip, this campsite was our number 1 site and we will definitely be revisiting again. Our camper stay at Ruth’s was fantastic. We were greeted on arrival by Johnno (apologies if incorrect name). Their site is really private and peaceful. The campsite had some great features that made our stay that bit more memorable - a communal roundhouse for campers to gather, a solar powered shower (by far the BEST shower we experienced this road trip - spacious cubicle, very clean, nicely lit up), a phone bench where you could just about get 4G which made you conscious of how much time you spent on your phone, along with a campfire, tree rope swing & quirky compost toilets. Camped with 3 friends and it was ideal! The pitch was a really good size and the facilities were great. A good location with lots of lovely towns and beaches nearby - thank you so much!

Red Sky at Night Campsite

If you’re lucky, you’ll get to see at least one of the amazing sunsets at Red Sky at Night Campsite near Monmouth – but if you don’t, there’s mighty compensation in the shape of the spectacular views from just about everywhere on the site. And of course, on clear nights, the night skies are diamond-bright with stars - we are under one of Wales' Dark Sky Reserves! This family-run camping field on a livestock farm is managed on very laidback lines. Pitch up wherever you like and feel free to park by your tent (weather permitting). Raised campfires are allowed and you can hire firepits and grills (the owners sell local eggs & sausages) and buy bags of wood & kindling. You can bring your dogs too (take them for walks in the adjoining woods) but just be sure to keep them on a lead. Kids are certainly carefully looked after here. Get a fact sheet on arrival and join mini-campers in wildlife hunts through the trees, looking out all the while for buzzards and red kites. Round and about the site, your offspring can entertain themselves on rope swings, making dens and following a mini-tractor course across the camping field. There’s also a football pitch. Wild camping this may be (there’s no electricity on site, please note) but there are two nicely designed compost loos and a covered sink areas with fresh water tap. So bring your guitar, light that fire, break out the barbecue and enjoy the chilled vibe.
