Guests to Rhos y Gallt describe the campsite as a little gem of a site - small, quite and tranquil with wonderful sunsets. The site can accommodate up to 5 caravans and 10 tents situated on a level 2 acre site within the beautiful rolling hills of Montgomeryshire in Mid Wales.
There are hard standing pitches with electric hook-up as well as grass pitches with and without electric hook-up. There is also a field bordering a river which is used for wild camping - but you'll have to share it with the sheep!
The toilet block has a family wet room with shower, toilet, wash hand basin and baby changing unit, a separate toilet, shower and kitchen area with freezer.
The site borders a river meadow where visitors can wonder down and take a walk down with the river bank, relax by the water edge, throw a few skimmers, do a spot of fishing or even go wild water swimming (at your own risk!).
Well behaved dogs are welcome (maximum 2 per unit).
We were delighted to receive a nomination for The Camping and Caravanning Club Best Hideaway Site in 2021 and grateful to our wonderful guests for the nomination.

If you’re lucky, you’ll catch at least one of the breathtaking sunsets at Red Sky at Night Campsite near Monmouth. If not, there’s always a stunning view of rolling hills all around. At night, the skies become a dazzling canvas of stars under one of Wales' official Dark Sky Reserves.
This family-run camping field on our laid-back livestock farm is full of rustic charm. Pitch wherever feels right—tent or camper van. Dogs welcome but must always be kept on a lead and cleaned up after (dog waste bin on site, otherwise we are a leave no trace site and you should take your rubbish home with you).
This year, we’re introducing the “Missing Camper Trail” hidden in the woodland—can you find Colin? You’ll also find a new zip line and a slackline for adventurers big and small. Mud Café and den building are still here, along with teddy bears scattered through the woods—no official trail, just hidden friends to find.
Also new this season - a handcrafted washing-up area built by Farmer Ben from wood right off our farm.
Coming soon: We’re hoping for showers this season, but we’ll update when they’re up and running.
Wild camping here means no electricity—just two lovely compost loos and a covered cold-water tap. So bring your guitar, light a fire, and soak up the simplicity... The way camping was intended.

Cwmwye Camping is a small greener camping club site based just outside builth wells. The River Wye is only a short walk from the campsite where you will find the wye valley walk that runs north to south. On site we have communal fire pit, washing up area,gas shower and two compost toilets. Price of pitch includes firewood for fire pit.
We have lots of lovely walks around us and cycling routes including cycling route 8 which goes right passed the campsite entrance.
We are a greener camping site and it is £12 for membership which can be organised on arrival. Only one person needs to be a member with in you're group.

Absolutely fantastic campsite! The pitch was amazing, and being able to jump in for a swim when the tide was in made the experience even more special. The facilities were excellent, clean, and had everything we needed. Walking through the boatyard to reach the pitch was such a unique touch it gave the whole place a rustic, authentic charm that you just don’t find at most campsites. We loved every minute of our stay and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Great bit of land opened up by the legend that is Martin. Seriously lovely fella and very accommodating. A group of us booked for one night and a couple of us ended up staying for a second. Beautiful area with lots to do. Dont have to travel far for a lovely cold dip, the land has a beautiful brook on site you can dip into and refresh yourself in the heat. Would absolutely recommend

Camped for two nights with my family including two young kids under 3. We had a fantastic time, great views (day and night), caters nicely for kids without being over the top and providing the right amount of outdoor natural play, good basic facilities (absolutely fine by us!). Lots to do nearby. Pizza horse box was a great last minute addition that meant we could avoid cooking too! We would love to come back and stay longer! Thanks for the hospitality and providing such a great space!

3 nights at Cuddfan - The Hiding Place
We had the most wonderful stay, it is very peaceful and so lovely listening to the sound of the river. Our dog had the best time and you feel nicely removed from the other tent, we did not see anyone else while we were there.
The pictures do not do the camp justice, the tent itself is now on a small platform and is a good size, mattresses and sheets were provided. There is also a table and bench there which was very handy.
Only things to be aware of it is a fairly steep hill down to the camp from the parking so don't pack too heavy. We also were confused by the listing info and thought there may be a solar powered fridge but this tent is completely off grid so bring ice packs! Like the other reviews said, bring your own cutlery etc.
The pub is just down the road and we did some lovely walks from the doorstep including up to sugar loaf. We definitely would stay again and hope to be back!

Perfect place to stay I had no issues, got there at a good time and had good options of where to choose, i did go mid week so can’t comment on weekends, for the price probably the best place I’ve stayed. Super nature friendly and good facilities, yes there are only two showers but as advertised it’s supposed to be similar to wild camping so can’t moan.

If you want camping away from the crowd in a beautiful serene part of the world then this is for you. So quiet and peaceful. As a small site we had two other "neighbours" about 50 yards away so you really did feel like you were the only ones there.
Great facilities though quite rustic. Access road is narrow and would struggle with large camper or caravan.
Hosts were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. If you do stay then Lake Vyrnwy down the road is a must.,

We really loved this site. We were at the top of the hill with great views, close to Hay on Wye and able to walk down the the river for a paddle. The facilities were really clean and although it was quite full, they have done in such a way that there's lots of privacy.
