Guests to Rhos y Gallt describe the campsite as a little gem of a site - small, quite and tranquil with wonderful sunsets. The site can accommodate up to 5 caravans and 10 tents situated on a level 2 acre site within the beautiful rolling hills of Montgomeryshire in Mid Wales.
There are hard standing pitches with electric hook-up as well as grass pitches with and without electric hook-up. There is also a field bordering a river which is used for wild camping - but you'll have to share it with the sheep!
The toilet block has a family wet room with shower, toilet, wash hand basin and baby changing unit, a separate toilet, shower and kitchen area with freezer.
The site borders a river meadow where visitors can wonder down and take a walk down with the river bank, relax by the water edge, throw a few skimmers, do a spot of fishing or even go wild water swimming (at your own risk!).
Well behaved dogs are welcome (maximum 2 per unit).

Tŷ Llewelyn is a small, off grid glamping and camping site on our family farm near Llanidloes in Powys, Mid Wales. We have 15 acres of meadow and woodland with private access to a small river. Great for families and couples who like simple, quiet stays close to nature.
We offer off grid camping pitches and simple glamping on our farm. Stays here are low impact, with space to switch off properly for a few days.
Set within 15 acres the pitches and glamping units are very well spaced out so it never feels crowded.
ŷ Llewelyn is situated, just outside Llanidloes in Powys, Wales. Within the Cambrian Mountains, just 15 minutes from The Hafren Forest and Clewedog Dam and a scenic 35 minute drive from The Elan Valley we are the perfect central location to explore from. So many walking and cycling routes to enjoy then come back to a stunning, off grid base at the end of the day.
What to expect from an off grid stay
Stays here are better for people who enjoy campfires, stargazing and birdsong rather than bright lights or on site entertainment. Power and lighting are limited, so you will want to bring warm layers and a torch, and be happy with simple facilities. In return you get peace, space and time outdoors in Mid Wales.
The great thing about holidaying in Mid Wales is that you are central to everything. Fancy a beach day? no problem, we're just over half an hour away from the University town of Aberystwyth. Here you can take in the breath taking scenery of the coastal path or just enjoy lazy days on the beach. On the way to the coast you could stop off at Bwlch nant yr arian, and don't forget your bike!! With so many trails heading out into the spectacular scenery of the Cambrian Mountains you would have to come back for another stay to get through them.

Beautiful spot to camp. Sheltered and right next to a river. Just beautiful. Easy walk to town. Eco toilets are well structured, clean, and serviced. They are built very well so no unpleasant smells! Fires allowed. Peaceful. David is super chilled and friendly. This one’s a keeper for us! Loved it.

This was such a beautiful spot to camp for the weekend, it’s not a super massive campsite which felt quite nice to not be overcrowded with loads of other campers. Plus with it being adult only campsite it felt quite peaceful to not hear kids running around which makes a nice change. Toilets and shower was clean and tidy, far better than other campsites I’ve been to. Andre was such a lovely guy and felt instantly comfortable in his presence, anything we needed he accommodated for. Would love to stay here again.

This our second time camping here and we always look forward to coming so much - to the point we booked an extra night this time around! There's no better place to camp if you enjoy the natural world. There's woodland, a beautiful river deep enough to swim in but also with a shallow paddling beach. It's so lovely that you can camp both in a field, but also go down in the woodland where there are semi-hidden pitches close to the river, and lots of trees to string a hammock up.
Bats fly around every night. There's cows in the next door field, a horse called George, and David the owner is really friendly and helpful. We had great communication prior to coming because I had a query about a particular date, and he's been really helpful and accommodating since we arrived as well.

Beautiful, almost wild camping with my 13yr old son, who was looking for an 'Outdoor Boys' (YouTube) type experience. Came on a Monday so nice and quiet with only 1x other family staying. We camped in the woods, cooked over an open campfire and paddled in the stream. Water was lovely and clear and the sound of the stream was like a natural white noise soundtrack. David came to check we were all okay in the evening, a lovely person who was very laid back and helpful. As the sun went down there were a few bats flying low which were fun to watch. Had a great time and will look to come back.

I came here with my 8 yo daughter. Really lovely site that felt close to nature and a great change from a big field with tens of other campers. It felt remote yet Brecon was not far away at all if we ever needed anything. Would happily come back. Campfires and the closeness to the river as well as the beautiful setting were our favourite aspects of it.

Loved the chickens and new kitten roaming free ❤️
If you want more evening sun during your stay try and get a pitch on side nearer the parking area.
Would recommend as a safe, chilled out, family friendly site.

The site is in a beautiful location with stunning views and the stream trickling by. I chose a pitch next to the stream but all of the fields are level/flat and extremely well maintained, as are the toilets and showers etc. Even though it’s the start of the school holidays there’s so much space for finding a quiet spot and I recommend field 4. It’s near the toilets, stream, drinking water and you will share the views with the neighbouring sheep. The Eagles village pub does reasonable food at reasonable prices and the beer garden has amazing views too. Gareth and Bethan work hard to make everything perfect for their guests and I certainly had a warm welcome when I arrived. In fact, I am so impressed with the site that I’ve decided to stay another week! And I’ll be back again 👍

The campsite is located at such an amazing spot with fantastic views.
