Multiple hikes / walks within Jacob's Point, Andy's Marine Park, and 7 other parks on island. One wonderful little grocery store on island for fresh or incidental items along with one cafe, and one restaurant. The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. There is no smoking of any kind in the cabin or on the property. I call this opportunity "Wild Card Camping" because what I'm offering isn't typical: camping plus limited, shared use of my empty vacation cabin while it's being renovated for a fall rental. Inside, guests have access to a bathroom with a shower, Wi-Fi, plus a table and chairs for air-conditioned relaxation with fellow campers on hot days. The cabin is otherwise unfurnished. For a small fee ($3), you can also arrange to use the laundry. There is room for one camp site in a small field below the cabin. There is a second "site" for one or two people who would like to "camp" in one of the bedrooms. You provide all of the contents of the room. Call it an "ADU" for non-campers or an elderly but still feisty person. Pets are allowed at the site for $10 per pet/per booking. If you would like to bring a pet, please add the Pet Fee which is listed as an Extra during the booking proc Here's why the location is so special: A short 10- to 15-minute walk through the nearby historic hamlet of Ellisport brings you to KVI, the island's largest sand spit and one of its best beaches. You can also launch a kayak or paddleboard from Crow Beach, a sandy shoreline right next to the bus stop and even closer to your campsite. During July and August, you can pick blackberries on the property, listen to owls at night, hear eagles and ospreys calling during the day, and maybe even spot a deer wandering through. Hike or bike to a local café for coffee and pastries, or hop on the Route 119 bus (weekdays only), which stops next to Crow Beach, and head into town to shop or dine at one of Vashon's wonderful restaurants. Ride the bus in the other direction to hike the bluffs at the south end of Maury Island. Visit the golf course for a meal or a round of golf, or purchase a $17 day pass to the Vashon Athletic Club if you'd like to work out. 1 night at The Legacy Basecamp in Elbe

As the property manager and host for The Legacy Basecamp, I wanted to experience the space firsthand and it truly delivered. While I manage the bookings and guest experience rather than stewarding this incredible land long-term, staying here gave me a full appreciation for what makes this spot so special. There is plenty of open space for the family to run around, play, and unwind. One of our favorite details was hearing the faint whistle of the train passing in the distance,it adds such a classic, peaceful touch to the woods. The large covered outdoor space was a lifesaver for escaping the midday heat, and it will clearly be the ultimate cozy refuge once the fall and winter rains set in. Between the fully equipped indoor kitchen and the versatile outdoor cooking setups, meal prep was effortless with tons of options. After full days outside, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and everything we needed was right at hand. We left feeling completely refreshed.

This was such a cool stay. The location was perfect and we had an amazing time exploring the whole property. Weekend Trip to Cole's Cabin on Anderson Island

Perfect, quiet overnight get away for my spouse and I! We got dinner at the island restaurant and took the nice walk down to the beach access just in time for dusk. Sitting outside on the small deck into the night was super relaxing and we’ll definitely be back!

Manufactured home is empty, has shared bathroom and shower to use, wifi, table and chairs, and air conditioning. A caretaker stays in back of house.

I felt that things were explained openly and honestly about the arrangements and also she was willing to accommodate a special individual needs. 1 night at Cedar River Retreat

The little cabin was very private and quaint plus a perfect place to bring your dog. There are many extra ammenities the host provides: water dispenser, propane for stove, firewood and fire starters. We found fun surprises inside as well as in the forest nearby. My grandkids and I felt very safe. The location was also quiet and peaceful. We will be returning!

2 nights at Cedar River Retreat

Cedar River Retreat is my pup’s and my favorite! We visit the tent site and the cabin multiple times a year. Brittany is always so kind, friendly, and responsive. I’m so happy to have shared this relaxing oasis with my family! They remarked on the amenities and extras available that I’ve always appreciated about CRR. We had a few other friends join just for the day and there was plenty of room for everyone to stretch their legs and enjoy the large outdoor space. Another 5 star stay at CRR on the books!

Weekend Trip to Sky River Glamp N Camp 🏕️🔥

Great place to stay at. Andrea was a great host. There was a huge traffice jam and we couldn't go into town to get some supplies but Andrea help provided us with some. Luckily the weather was good and we were able to enjoy the water also. Would definitely stay again.

1 night at Cedar River Retreat

We had such a wonderful stay at Cedar River Cabin! We visited with our toddler and absolutely loved our time there. The cabin was cozy, comfortable, and peaceful, exactly what we were hoping for in a relaxing family getaway. The cabin was very thoughtfully stocked and had all the amenities we needed. We especially appreciated having plenty of cooking supplies, which made it easy to prepare meals during our stay. There were also logs available for us to use, which was such a nice touch and made the cabin experience even cozier. The location was great as well. There was a really nice pizza place nearby when we didn’t feel like cooking, and we felt very safe and comfortable throughout our stay. It was a wonderful place to slow down, enjoy the surroundings, and spend some quality time together as a family. The host was warm, welcoming, and very responsive, which made the whole experience even better. Everything felt well cared for and thoughtfully arranged for guests. We left with some really lovely memories and will definitely be returning to Cedar River Cabin. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy, peaceful, and family-friendly getaway!

2 nights at Pipe Lake Cabin

loved this little glamping/cabin, it was a perfect escape. the cabin had all the essentials to cook breakfast and dinners. s'mores on the deck at night, and the private dock and lake during the day were fantastic. neighbors are very close but that did not bother us one bit. can't wait to come back, this is a rebook spot!

Weekend Trip to Alder Grove Retreat

Alder Grove Retreat was such a beautiful space! It was surrounded by trees and had a beautiful view of the forest. We really enjoyed the sauna and the peacefulness that the space offered. Dawson was very communicative and the experience felt well thought-out. Dawson and Gabrielle are also wonderful people if you happen to run to into them! Highly recommend and would come again

1 night at Cedar River Retreat

Wish it was longer! Kid friendly, and dog friendly. There is a trail right next to the cabin so people on bikes or walking dogs. It's a wonderful little slice of summer vacation. I would love to return again with my family. There's also a river about 5 minutes up the road with a cute pizza place called Cascadia. Drive into property is also not too bad on a non 4×4 car (Kia soul). I highly recommend a stay here.

It was very cozy and close to Rainier for our hiking group. Had everything we needed to pack up and then come home to cook. Went into town to grab some food and shop.
