Tŷ Llewelyn is a small, off grid glamping and camping site on our family farm near Llanidloes in Powys, Mid Wales. We have 15 acres of meadow and woodland with private access to a small river. Great for families and couples who like simple, quiet stays close to nature.
We offer off grid camping pitches and simple glamping on our farm. Stays here are low impact, with space to switch off properly for a few days.
Set within 15 acres the pitches and glamping units are very well spaced out so it never feels crowded.
ŷ Llewelyn is situated, just outside Llanidloes in Powys, Wales. Within the Cambrian Mountains, just 15 minutes from The Hafren Forest and Clewedog Dam and a scenic 35 minute drive from The Elan Valley we are the perfect central location to explore from. So many walking and cycling routes to enjoy then come back to a stunning, off grid base at the end of the day.
What to expect from an off grid stay
Stays here are better for people who enjoy campfires, stargazing and birdsong rather than bright lights or on site entertainment. Power and lighting are limited, so you will want to bring warm layers and a torch, and be happy with simple facilities. In return you get peace, space and time outdoors in Mid Wales.
The great thing about holidaying in Mid Wales is that you are central to everything. Fancy a beach day? no problem, we're just over half an hour away from the University town of Aberystwyth. Here you can take in the breath taking scenery of the coastal path or just enjoy lazy days on the beach. On the way to the coast you could stop off at Bwlch nant yr arian, and don't forget your bike!! With so many trails heading out into the spectacular scenery of the Cambrian Mountains you would have to come back for another stay to get through them.

Our beautiful home is a glamping and camping site with its own gorgeous fishing lake on the outskirts of the village of Llandyfan. You can find us to the west of the Brecon Beacons or Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.
Llandyfan Campsite has been lovingly re-established in early 2024 by Andy and Jo. Since taking ownership, we have rolled up our sleeves and got stuck into restoring it to its former glory and will soon be back to being a fully operational slice of Welsh heaven.
Our first focus has been the fishing lake which we opened in March. The campsite followed in May. We are currently working on electric hook ups and other improvements.
We have chickens on site that roam free during the day. They are friendly and like to wander around the tents to say hello to our guests!
We would like everyone who visits to have a great time and a relaxing break. Whilst here please be considerate towards others, to their property, and while using the facilities. If you have any concerns, please let us know.
We have brought out a few rules from our T&Cs and we kindly ask that you have a read through before your stay.
Litter:
You must pick up your litter. Please either take it with you or recycle it appropriately in the bins onsite. There are bins around the campsite, please recycle where possible.
Pitches to be left as you found them.
Noise:
Be respectful and consider your neighbours. Keep noise to a minimum after 10pm and before 8am in the morning.
No loud music is to be played at any time.
Children:
Children must be supervised at all times around the campsite and can play within the pitch space allocated to you. At quiet times, it may be possible for children to use vacant pitches for play but this cannot be guaranteed. The amenity block and associated facilities are not to be used as a play area.
Dogs:
Must not to be left unattended.
Are to be kept on leads at all times whilst on the campsite. (We are working on an enclosed dog walking area, however this is not yet available).

Our Yurt is set up in the trees giving you peaceful seclusion and a clear view across the sea to Wales and the mountains of the Brecon Beacons. The Yurt is big and sleeps up to four very comfortably. It has its own stove and outside is a washroom just for you with hot shower , toilet and sinks. Your own meadow allows you to just relax and be.
Up on the campfield you can bring your own tent or hire a Belle tent from us with all the fittings to camp contentedly. Our new Wash House has hot showers, flushing toilets and basins. You can light a fire and cook up a BBQ or maybe just watch the world go by.
A huge range of activities are possible or you can lie in the hammock with a good book. We have very friendly dogs and rescue chickens who may come and visit. Wild deer wander past in the early morning mist and the odd buzzard picks an argument with a bunch of crows but nothing much else should disturb you.
We moved here after an 18 month search 11 years ago. It was close to everything we wanted and we've spent some time getting a bit closer.

The location is beautiful with stunning sunset!
I really like that every tent spot is far enough from the other so we have privacy. Also the fact that every spot has been levelled and with a fire pit is amazing!
We spent the summer solstice there and we had a delightful time!

Large campsite. Great facilities. Signposting to the larger field could have been better as we didn't realise how big the site was when we arrived. Gorgeous walk into the town. If camping be aware that there is a rogue mouse who broke into our tent one night and then the neighbours the night after with a penchant for bread and porridge so make sure food is stored carefully. We would return.

Weekend Trip to Ynysfaen Camping and Glamping
Amazing campsite, one the best we've stayed in. The property is large with clear directions to each facility, there plenty of space between camps.
Elaine greeted us and we had a short tour, all amenities listed are even better in person, very clean and well maintained.
We were even loaned a blow up mattress as we had forgotten ours!
Lovely stay for the two nights we there, I would recommend sleeping nearer the stream as the sound is good to sleep to, but perhaps avoid the midges in the evening.

Located in rural wales, Glynmarch farm is an incredibly scenic and peaceful place to stay. The medative quietness invited calmness to our experience, the only noise for miles around were from the sheep in distant fields and bird song which added to the aura of nature.
The farm also offers a barn as a social hangout, with a fire bit to enjoy the nights and solar fairylights which turn off around 11, to help add a cosy feeling to the stone building.
The hosts are very friendly and always willing to lend a hand when needed
The land our tent was pitched on was well taken care of with floral design of wild flowers adding a lively touch to the field
Will definitely be staying again ♡

I may have found my favourite camping spot! Being midweek it was quiet, just as I like it. The site is beautiful, full of wildlife (I saw an otter, a heron and more), and has a relaxing river ambience. There is a train line but I loved hearing the sound of the old rails and the trains were sparse. The breakfast van was open on our last day, fueling us with sausage and egg rolls for our trip home. Lovely friendly owners. I am tempted not to say these things to keep this gem of a site to myself. Thank you.

Such a lovely, small campsite, beautiful setting and lots of space for the kids to run around. Tim was welcoming and engaging chatting each evening and morning to find out what adventures people had been on. The facilities were great with 3 flushing toilets and 2 showers, perfectly suited to a 6 pitch campsite. We will be back!

Loved this beautiful campsite amid stunning local surroundings. The river was a bonus during the heatwave! Would recommend a walk to the top of Panpwnton hill too, in the shade of the trees, rewarding you with exceptional views across the valley once you reach the top.
Roxanne was very helpful while being hands-off so we could get on with enjoying our stay.
Even though it was a bank holiday and there were lots of guests, there was plenty of space for our two tents and the campsite was very peaceful and respectful.
The facilities were great and the Offa's treats van was a nice addition, providing us with much needed ice cream and coffee.
Would highly recommend this campsite!

Plenty of land to pitch up without feeling squeezed in, even on a very busy hot bank holiday weekend. The facilities were adequate and the food van served great icecream. The town is within walking distance and has a selection on pubs and takeaways.
