It’s a place set apart from the rush and clutter of the modern holiday experience, with an atmosphere that makes you forget the world outside, and just lounge, ramble, or potter about in a boat. We're committed to giving you a genuinely individual service from first contact to your time staying with us. We established CTH in 1996. This was the first and we believe still is the best tipi holiday site in the UK. We know our area inside out and can always help with local knowledge or contacts if you need them. We want to offer our guests a sustainable holiday. A return to real camping means the lowest possible impact on the land and environment - our tipi poles don’t even break the surface of the earth. The Yeworthy Treehouse is a stunning eco-friendly, off-grid retreat set amongst the tree-tops and above a private lake. The cosy treehouse comes with a log-burner to keep you cosy and enjoys breathtaking views from the balcony. The surroundings are completely secluded and perfectly private - you will only have the birds and wild deer who roam the forest as neighbours. Guests can also enjoy the use of the summer-house, perfect for BBQs in the summer months, and the rowing boat on the lake. The tree-house is eco-friendly and totally off-grid so is perfect for those looking for a peaceful and undisturbed stay. The treehouse has a double bed with plenty of comfy cushions and pillows while the log-burning stove means you can stay warm and cosy, even on the colder nights. Logs can be purchased from the owners upon arrival for £5. A kettle can be boiled and basic cooking can be done on a 2 ring gas-fired camp stove, complete with kitchen utensils, pots and pans to rustle up a meal. Fresh water is provided for guests from a bowser. The private, eco-friendly, sawdust toilet is in a separate structure nestled amongst the trees. Please note there is no shower facility and guests will have to bring their own towels. Guests will be met by the owners who will transport you down to the treehouse in a jeep. Guests will have access to the jeep for the duration of their stay. The Yeworthy Treehouse is a perfect getaway for those who want to get back to nature, sleep amongst the stars and enjoy the peace and tranquility that the setting provides. Please note: From 1st October to 1st April each year, the boat will be out of commission and unavailable for guest use. This will be an ongoing seasonal closure each year. The long grasses change from a buttercup speckled yellow in June to a light, sun-scorched green by August. And the trees, hedges and saplings are as inviting to children as any artificial playground. It’s a wonderful place to explore. The Yurt and Lodge here have been fittingly finished to provide the same enchanting feel. Solar-powered fairy lights and lanterns cast their ambient light across the exposed wooden lattice on the inside of each structure, while wood burners and colour-schemed furnishings give a warm and cosy feel. They are, of course, also perfectly practical. Each one sleeps up to five people and are accompanied by a neighbouring cabin with your own private shower and toilet facilities. The mown grass provides children a space to play and also leads you to a communal log cabin that’s home to the main kitchen and dining area. It comes complete with everything you need (including a range cooker) and there’s an outside cooking area with a proper pizza oven and a campfire. Owl Yurt is perhaps the more secluded of the two, with the stream and a line of bushes slightly separating it and involves crossing a tiny bridge to get there, while Pheasant Lodge is closer to the kitchen area. When the sun’s out, it’s all so nice it’s difficult to leave. The raised wooden platforms on which each Yurt and Lodge sits has outdoor furniture where you can sit and enjoy a sun-downer and you can even put your feet up and relax under the guise of ‘supervising the kids’. Enchanting though it may be, there is life beyond the valley (really, there is) and once you drag yourself away you’ll be quick to realise that the coast is the real draw here. It’s a 15-minute drive to the beaches of the south and the charming harbour town of Looe, stacked up along the steep sides of the river valley. From there you can chug out on the ferry to the nature reserve of Looe Island or join the coastal path to wander to neighbouring coves and beaches.

We loved the location, tucked down a farm track, in the shelter of a lovely wooded river. Great eco facilities, we love a composting loo and the outdoor showers were fabulous. Tim on site was really helpful and friendly. Gorgeous, generous pitches and so peaceful. The wash up area in the wood is a lovely spot but a little far from the site and in the less sunny months would get a bit waterlogged I'd imagine. It was no bother to us as we boiled water and washed up on our pitch, but might be an issue at a busier time perhaps. We loved our stay, good value, a great site with a fabulous ethos. Right up our street, would wholeheartedly recommend. The river walk is a lovely amenity and lots of places are easy to reach from it's central location.

Lovely site, great amenities that were also eco friendly, river is right there for a swim or kayak and the morning views were beautiful. We were the only campers so it was super quiet but Jonathan was close by if we had any issues. Would have loved to have stayed longer!

My family and I loved the campsite. We were 10 people: 7 adults and 3 5-year-old children. We chose one of the private sites and brought 4 tents. The site was large and private. We enjoyed 3 nights there and plan to return sometime soon. We cooked over a lovely campfire, which the kids loved. They also went canoeing one morning, completing a fascinating trip.

I stayed in Gosels as a private pitch and absolutely loved it. The campsite was perfect blend of eco/modern (compostable/flushable toilets and hot showers) within a tranquil setting. I liked how the campsite was used in a traditional sense for escape keeping noise and disturbance down to a minimum. The quarry lake was a great area for a splash around and cool down. Though used heavily by young families, had enough space for all. I already miss my chicken and rabbit friends seen daily on my pitch. The location of the site was perfect for me to make some visits out to North Cornwalls surrounding beaches and beauty spots. Well worth the trip.

We’ve just got back from a fantastic week at Mushroom meadow. The site was just perfect - spacious pitches in a gorgeous surrounding with never a queue for the loo and plenty of hot water for the showers! We found loads to do nearby on both the north and south coasts and really appreciated Clare’s helpful local knowledge and tips too. Thank you so much for a great week - super hosts and we particularly loved our evening fires with Tim. Highly recommended.

I travelled with two older grandsons. We were delighted with the space and facilities. I’m from that area but had no idea that this Secret Garden was there! A pullout bed made sleeping for 3 adults possible. Nice little shower room and cooking equipment good. Outside seating area and hot tub were wonderful. We made fires each night and sat out late with hot chocolate to see the stars. Fun swing (log on a rope) was enjoyed by all of us. The boys were surprised and delighted as was I Sheryl communicated by message and was so helpful. The fresh eggs (option) were delicious. Hope to return again.

The lake was amazing - even better than the pictures. Beautiful private wooded sites running down the hill and a lovely set of open pitches at the top. The site staff were really friendly and helpful, with an excellent on site cafe for brunch and dinner. My daughter says her caramel cookie was the best she had ever eaten - high praise!

We had a really nice stay here. The site was quiet and peaceful and the host was very helpful. The little woodland at the end of the field is very nice for a stroll and we walked into the village which has an amazing bakery, shop, pub and fish and chip shop. Location is good for getting around Cornwall. Would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay in Jonathan's land. He is very welcoming and helpful. From the camp, we had beautiful views of the river and felt truly immersed in nature, surrounded by the silence. A compost toilet and a cute and spacious shower in a horse box were all the services we needed to make our stay comfortable. We would love to go back one day!
