Beautiful camping spot in the Black Mountains. Loved the separate pitches in the meadow, with plenty of space for the kids to run around. The swing and the stream were a hit for the kids, and lovely walks from the campsite. The facilities were basic, but fine for our needs and perfectly clean. Thank you for sharing your lovely farm.

Weekend Trip to Riverside Restful Relaxing Campsite

It’s a beautiful, quiet campsite by the river. There were lots of spring blossoms when I went. The shower and toilet facilities were well maintained and the kitchen looked good too. Andy was really friendly. It would be a great place for cycling as it is very flat. The river was also calm for paddleboarding and swimming (at your own risk).

1 night at Penn Meadow Farm

This was our first time camping, and it was a very beautiful experience. The amenities were clean and there is firewood if needed. Just be careful of the bumpy road :)

1 night at Meldon Lake and Woods Wild Camping

This place is truly magical. I’m reluctant to give a glowing review as it’s so wonderful and would hate not to be able to book in again, but I have to absolutely praise this place. As a solo female camper I was feeling nervous and didn’t know what to expect, felt completely safe and happy. Fab location, private spot next to the lake, dogs allowed to roam freely which is rare. There is a lovely ranch at the top of the farm as you enter, which I had no clue about and was a pleasant surprise would love to come back again, so much to see and do and the peace and tranquillity is lovely. 1 bit of negativity would be walkers coming through, but that’s no big deal. Would highly recommend, thank you for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful area and lovely camping! The farm shop had lovely steaks and anything you might forget you need! Aswell as fire logs and burner pits to hire. 10/10 will visit again

1 night at Meldon Lake and Woods Wild Camping

This is a beautiful and secluded spot with views out over Dartmoor. A footpath/bridleway runs through the site and can be followed up to Meldon Reservoir and way-marked walking routes. The access instructions from Phil were excellent. We were in a 6m long motorhome (long wheel base van) and navigated well along the narrow lane. Would love to return for a few nights; we were only there for one night and were the only people there. Beautiful!

Such a great site! Nestled on the mountainside, very natural setting, fire pits and special flat areas for vans. Host was so very welcoming and friendly. Exactly what I'd hoped to find. The walks directly from camp were stunning, lots of different routes to choose from. For families there were self-guided nature activities on site too. Will definitely be going back!

2 nights at Riverside Restful Relaxing Campsite

Firstly I must say what a lovely person Andy is. A great host, so kind and friendly and couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a fantastic stay. The site is just beautiful! So peaceful and quiet, immaculately kept and all the creature comforts you could need. Super clean facilities and very well stocked. The fishing in the river that runs through the site was amazing! I caught 4 pike in just a few hours on simple jig head tactics. We had such a good time that we extended the stay by an extra 3 days!! Thank you Andy for your hospitality, absolutely first class and we can’t wait to come back!

Fab site, have been before and will come back again. Nice little base to explore further, and great for a chill out. Facilities are great.

Lovely hosts. Easy to find. Peaceful place. Woodland and grass pitches. A compost toilet. River running through the woodland. Absolutely enjoyed my stay and will return. A wonderful campsite.

Lovely site, super welcoming and ideal location. Hot showers, proper loos but no other distractions from the simple basics of nature, big skies and peace!
