Our 17 acre Farm is set deep within the beautiful South Downs National Park on the outskirts of the quiet village of Milland (near Liphook) in rural West Sussex (close to its border with Hampshire and Surrey). We have direct access to an excellent bridleway and footpath network through peaceful open countryside and quiet lanes as well as being on the Serpent Tail and close to the South Downs Way. Our Glamping Pod and Shepherd's Hut are available to book all year round. We also offer stabling if you would like to take your horses or ponies on holiday with you! Milland village (0.8 miles) has the Rising Sun pub, serving great food and drink, and Milland Stores, which stocks all your essential fresh and local produce as well as having a small cafe.

The Pavilion is a great place to rest and strike out from. The beach is 1.5 miles away. It is on a network of footpaths in the middle of it's own organic farmland. Bridport and Lyme Regis offer plenty of art and culture and are reknown for food, River Cottage and the Jurassic Coast. There is nothing better than being warm and cosy around the wood burner looking out at the great views. Emmetts on Exmoor is part of the highest farm on the moor, up at an altitude of 1250 feet with gorgeous views out over the surrounding scenery of the national park. You won't find a better place for spotting wildlife right from your tent! Red deer herds regularly frequent the moor which is opposite your pitch. Other wildlife in the area include cuckoos, woodpeckers, golden plovers, foxes and much more! This is a place that’s big on space but small on guest numbers (just four pitches which are not visible from one another), so there’s always plenty of space around to soak up the rural atmosphere, spot wildlife and play games. The site is unmanned so make sure you have all the info you need before setting off and it’s worth noting that Exmoor National Park was designated Europe’s first Dark Sky Reserve back in 2011, so you should hopefully be in for spectacular displays of stars by night too. Unsurprisingly, this is a great area for walks and mountain bike rides; other activities in the area include things like fishing, sailing and pony trekking. If you’ve still got any energy left after that little lot, the farm’s all-weather tennis court is available to hire for a game or two. There is a proper shower and loo available next to the car parking area and all pitches are approximately a 500 metre walk away from this area through woodland and across pasture. Remember the site is off-grid so it’s a good idea to remember to bring along a torch. Guests are welcome to bring along a barbecue or hire a firepit and purchase wood onsite. Simonsbath (5 minutes) has a pub and a tearoom and Exford and Withypool (both within 15 minutes) have good village shops for picking up any other supplies you might need. The Poltimore Arms and The Exmoor Forest Inn are two very local pubs that are well worth a visit.

When you'd rather have a chilled beer, two pubs are within half a mile of the site (only 10 minutes’ walk away). Strike up a conversation with a local about the next Severn Bore, the huge tidal wave which races for 25 miles from Awre to Gloucester down the estuary just a handful of times per year.

Weekend Trip to Foot of the Downs

Me and my partner stayed at Skylark pod and it was very nice, lovely scenic getaway for our anniversary. The bed was comfy and the shower was very good. The only issue was there was quite a lot of dust cobwebs around so it wasn’t as clean as we expected. The sofa is also very uncomfortable. Would recommend though.

brilliant place to stay, very relaxed there but if you need anything they was there. me and my partner stayed here with our 2 daughters and our dog and it was 100% one of the best places we have been to, great veiws, great facilities. all in all will 100% be staying again and maybe try the other cabins.

A very warm welcome from Nigel at the site, with explanation of the site. We loved staying in one of the pre-pitched bell tents, so cosy and warm with very comfy beds! Warm shower and clean composting loo. Helpful little things like the - rechargeable lanterns for use and bottle lanterns when it got dark. A plus too, lots of kitchen ware and crockery.

Matt met us on arrival and helped carry our bags to the The Shepherds Hut which is well fitted out , nicely decorated , lovely and clean, and well equipped. Nice hot shower and towel rail. Electric fire and also a log burner should you need it for the cold weather,The bed was so so comfy and the oat biscuits and eggs were delicious !! All windows had lovely views. Ivan & Sylvia S xxx

This was a super last-minute booking, despite knowing that it was going to be pretty wet all weekend. Despite the rain, this was a magical place and my son and I had a special time together. The rain maybe made it even more special. Anna is lovely and very helpful and their dog spent quite a lot of time with us because he realised we would continue to throw a stick for it until we went to sleep. Which was bliss!

We enjoyed our stay at The camp surroundings are well maintained, what I noticed is that no annoying flies buzzing around when sitting out and while cooking!. The host and people on site are very helpful and friendly. One night we needed help with lighting a camp fire and they were so quick to respond. The facilities in the camp are a bonus, if the weather is nice you won't get bored. Ladies toilets were okay my kids complained about the men's!!

Bill and Helen are so lovely and accommodating. A very ebullient and energetic couple. They rallied all the campers together on our last night to play volleyball as the site was closing for the season the next day. There’s a volleyball and badminton net in the middle of the field with rackets etc supplied if you just want a fun knock up. There pitch sizes are great are really generously spaced out. Loved the llamas and the fresh hen eggs that Helen left out for grabs one morning.! Couldn’t fault this place. We will be back.

I had the most amazing camping experience here after not camping for 10 years, and it couldn’t have been better! 🏕️ The view is absolutely stunning, and the bell tent was a great size – clean, comfortable, and really cosy. The toilets and showers are quite basic, but honestly perfect for this kind of stay. The host was super helpful with excellent communication throughout, which made everything easy and stress-free. I especially loved the firepit, and wood was available, which made the evenings extra special. 🔥✨ Overall, this place exceeded my expectations and gave me the perfect return to camping. Highly recommended!

We loved the open, spacious and quiet camping spots at Goren Farm. The showers were hot and the toilets, communal fridge and sink were clean. We went to the farm shop and cafe on our last day and had scrumptious food. Cheese scone with extra cheese and brie panini. Yum! We are going to come back to camp again and definitely for the Goren Children's festival next year! We went to Tukers Arms on the recommendation of another review and loved it. Also the Beer Light Railway is worth a visit. :D

Lovely peaceful woodland camping among nature. Personal touches dotted around the campsite were great, and fab local instructions to the pub and nearby walks where we spotted a trio of deer hopping through the fields!

Backed by dunes and heathland, the area makes up one of the National Trust's most important nature reserves, too, and also mark the start of the South West Coast Path. In short, for campers and fans of the great outdoors, it's pure heaven. There are heaps of campsites near Studland, by the bay itself and in the surrounding countryside beyond, but only the best make the cut for Hipcamp.
