Camping at The Batch was a tranquil and relaxing experience for a short get-away over the bank holiday weekend. The area itself is great for anyone wanting to visit surrounding locations (such as Cheddar and Wells), but also for people wanting to unwind amongst some stunning views. The badminton court gave us great entertainment, and in the summer there’s a TON of dragonfly’s by the orchard so we set to the impossible challenge of getting a non blurry photo, but never succeeded. The fire pits made for some great BBQ’s and source of heat while stargazing too!
However, the experience doesn’t stop at just the campsite itself. Tim takes great pride in maintaining the area and assisting everyone in anyway he can. From the offset he offered to help us move our equipment and to give us a tour of all on offer, including some fresh plums from his orchard! During pass by Tim would check in on us and ask how we were and what adventures we went on, but also to offer to help us with anything else we needed.
It’s fair to say the amazing site was taken to the next level from Tim’s great hospitality and super character. I would highly recommend and will definitely set pitch again! Hopefully next time I’ll get some better photos of the dragonfly’s!

Lovely small camping field with a gorgeous view. Only space for a handful of campers so feels real special. Toilets and sink available just tucked out the way and dilligently kept clean by Tim! Location is perfect for some decent walking!

We loved family camping at Sally and Paul’s and will most definitely return.
The site and views from Ladybird pitch were gorgeous.
The facilities are modern yet in keeping with the aesthetics of the site, clean and spacious.
We loved that the site was zoned wonderfully by the meadow grass to give you ample space on your own pitch whilst allowing for kids and families to socialise in view if they choose to do so. I loved that there is space for cars by each site, cleverly masked by landscaping so there are no cars in view from the pitches.
A wonderful place to relax, and soak in nature.

We had a fabulous 4 night camping trip on this wonderful small site. Secluded private pitches are mowed into the meadow.
Fantastic hot showers and clean flushing toilets. Amazing views cooking supper overlooking the valley and neighbouring sheep. Sally and Paul were incredibly accommodating, and even facilitated a change of pitch to a more sheltered area when bad winds were forecast. The football pitch was a real hit and our son made lots of new friends. Free wifi a bonus. Nearby we enjoyed crabbing in Dartmouth and kayaking at the beautiful Blackpool sands beach. The beach cafe there is not to be missed!

We want to give the best feedback possible for Tim and the yurt. Tim is a fantastic host, so helpful, makes himself available for any enquiries and local information, and genuinely cares that his guests are well looked after. It really wasa complete experience for us as Tim welcomes well behaved dogs too.
The yurt is a dream! So comfortable, everything you could possibly need to be warm and cosy and prepare easy food , especially with Tim’s own hens eggs, and breakfast and barbecue packs (much of which are from the organic farm just down the road) a lovely bonus . Super wood burner, a quilt which has had me looking online since we got back it’s so warm and comfortable and the setting is beautiful in its own paddock (which our dog loved!) with lovely views. The washing up, shower and compost loo facilities were so convenient on the decking next to the yurt, well lit at night by sensor lights, clean with all the all required products supplied, and eco friendly too.
The lovely bottle of Prosecco and fresh apple juice were a really kind and very much appreciated gift. We would recommend anyone to stay here and we shall certainly be coming back. THANK YOU!!

We absolutely loved our few days at Gurt Yurt and cannot recommend it highly enough. Our boys are aged 9 and 7, and this was a dream trip for them: beautiful views over the countryside, deer, buzzards, Tim’s hens and so much space to run around and play. They loved the tyre swings and hammock too. The beds were super cosy and the yurt is equipped with a wood burner, electric blanket and hot water bottles which kept us warm on the cool April nights. Tim is a lovely host - so accommodating, knowledgeable about the area, and goes above and beyond to ensure his guests have a great experience. We will treasure our camp fire memories and the time we spent here. Hope to return again soon.
