Please bring your acoustic guitar or similar but, as this is a quiet site, please no radios, stereos or videos unless you're using headphones. The birdsong here is incredible by the way! Very wet weather and winter – please note in the off-season, and if very wet, the camping field is closed to vehicles, replaced instead by semi-hardstanding areas or our summer car-park area. Weston Caravan and Campsite

12. Weston Caravan and Campsite

94%
(9)
England · 30 units · Tents, Motorhomes
A small family run site in Weston-on-the Green village located with a local pub 5 minutes walk away and on site cafe. The site also has newly refurbished toilet and shower facilities. Amazing location to access Oxford city and easy access to M40 (Junction 9). Good things await for those who grab a berth at Weston Caravan and Campsite, in the Oxfordshire village of Weston-on-the-Green. For starters, space seekers should be pleased to see that there’s plenty of breathing room around this former dairy farm – excellent news for kids or dogs that need a bit of haring-about time after being cooped up in the car. Depending on where you’ve plonked down you may find that your nearest neighbours are the resident beef cattle, sheep or horses; it’s worth keeping your eyes open for sightings of the hedgehogs that often scuttle about the place too. Perhaps most crucially for those whose stomachs dictate a site’s success is the presence of a café that serves up a tempting range of freshly cooked goodies: breakfasts (no rush – they’re served all day), salads, cakes and coffees, plus cheeses, pies and the like to take away. And the crème de la crème – literally: homemade ice cream in up to 16 (yes, a lipsmacking 16) different flavours. Evening appetites can be sated with a barbecue out on the field, or trotting off to the local pub five minutes’ walk away. The site added a new toilet and shower block in 2018. And how to get to this little slice of rural loveliness? The village is just a few minutes’ drive from the A34 and Junction 9 of the M40, making it both a useful stopover on cross-country voyages and a handy spot for Oxfordshire breaks (perhaps taking in Oxford, Blenheim Palace or bagging bargains in Bicester).

Our 90 pitch campsite is located in the protected Green Belt area to the west of London. With the River Thames on one side and Laleham Park on all others, the beautiful surroundings are hard to beat given the proximity to the capital. The campsite is run voluntarily by its members, with day-to-day matters being handled by an elected committee and wardens. We keep things relaxed at Laleham, but a few simple guidelines help everyone enjoy their stay: Quiet Hours: 11pm-7am — please keep noise to a minimum. Campfires: Raised fire pits/barbeques only — no fires directly on the grass. Pets: Dogs welcome, must be kept on leads at all times. Vehicles: After unloading, all cars must be kept in our on-site car park for the duration of your stay. Speed Limit: Please maintain a maximum speed limit of 5 mph for the safety of all guests. Entrance Times: Customer arrival times are from 2pm until 8pm at which the vehicle gates close and no more arrivals will be taken.

We are a pop-up campsite, which means we are open most weekends during the summer with some longer stints at the beginning and at the end of our season. We offer different activities each weekend, varying from damper bread making to wild food walks and bush craft skills. We also celebrate Midsummer (Juhannus) in Finnish style! 22nd May - 31st May - Opening: Sauna hot all Week 😃🙌🏻 19th - 21st June Summer Solstice/Juhannus ☀️☀️☀️ 26th - 28th June - Fairy Garden Making 🧚🏻🧚🏻‍♀️🧚🏻‍♂️ 3rd -5th July - Damper Bread 🥨 10th-12th July - DJ BBQ 🎶🍗 17th -19th July -Whittling 🥄🔪 24th - 26th July - Wellness weekend 🧘🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️ 31st July - 3rd August - Wand Making and 🪄🧚‍♂️ 7th - 9th August - Communal Curry Night 🥘 14th - 16th August - Fire Making for Kids 🔥 20th - 23rd August - Wild Food Walk 🍄‍🟫🫐 27th - 31st August - Closing Week ☀️🔥🥂🍾 FINNISH SAUNA We light our authentic Finnish sauna on Saturday evenings for all to use. Otherwise you can book the Sauna area for private use on Friday nights and Saturday day. Do give us more than an hours notice, it is wood heated and it takes a while to get hot! CAMPFIRES We love campfires and see them as an integral part of the camping experience. Campfires bring people together at the end of the day, to cook, socialise and relax. The smell of the wood smoke at twilight and the excitement on the kids faces when the marshmallows come out are bound to set you up for a perfect night away from the city lights! We sell crates of firewood, and hire fire pits for you to use during your stay. MUSIC The Lower Fields are for quiet camping. We would like it to be the perfect place for children to sleep and adults to chitchat around the campfires. On the Upper Field and near the Centre Camp we do allow you to listen and enjoy any music. But please respect your fellow campers! We want everybody to be able to enjoy their weekend without being disturbed. We ask for quiet across the whole site from 11.30pm. Overall we are quite a sociable site, with things happening at center camp every weekend. and a public campfire to sit around for a few mins after your sauna. We have a great area for large family groups. We pride ourselves on helping new campers get the most out of the experience come and hay hello at center camp.
