Weekend Trip to The Old Chapel Campsite

We traveled just over an hour to get there and it was mine and my girlfriends first camp out we had done and it was great, really friendly owner and great site.

Weekend Trip to Alder Carr Farm

We spent a couple of nights at this very basic yet perfectly wonderful place. If you are looking for a break away from it all then I highly recommend. The only neighbours you share the huge field with is sheep who are no problem at all. There is a river that runs behind which is suitable for paddling or for those a bit braver - wild swimming. There are plenty of walks directly from the site or just a short drive away. Also, the Royal Oak at the top of the road is a good place for food and drinks. Luckily we had lovely weather during our stay which made our stay as perfect as it was. Also, the toilet hut is something to behold. It really is a room with a view!!

We loved camping at the farm, the site is so secluded and peaceful- lots of wildlife to see and hear!. So relaxing.

The place is beautiful with nice view in the back field. Plenti of space for kids to zoom around and the host is very attentive. The surroundings are beautiful with lots of places to visit.

I had a nice time at Janice and Paul’s camp, it was small and basic, but everything you need for a short break away from it all, clean and respectful it’s also good bass for plenty of great walks near by. Would recommend

This campsite is kept really well and it’s clear that it’s been treated as a business by the owners, facilities are very clean and great shower/toilet block. There’s a great walk by the river/woods close by. We really enjoyed the stay.. would recommend!

Our second time camping here and was brilliant again. 4 small children, lovely walk to the pub, paddles in the stream. All great. Shirley is an excellent host too.

A really lovely relaxed campsite, set on a farm in the beautiful Peak District. A family friendly place and plenty of space for children to play. Toilets are clean and the washing station is also great. The campsite also a short drive to the Monsal Trail.

3 nights at Burrs Manor Wild Camping

The lady who ran the site was approachable, visited the site twice a day and checked in on us after some epic weather the night before. She even offered us some logs. Facilities were fine- enough flushing loos for the number of people, and a shower to boot. Cleaned daily.

From first meeting Andri and Tom I knew it was going to be a lovely place. They couldn't be more helpful, nothing was any bother. Beautiful surroundings and so peaceful. 2 nights at Alder Carr Farm

The river is lovely and camping was very peaceful. We also saw a new born calf whilst we stayed! Great location and the food from the farm shop was excellent.

5 nights at Bwch Yn Uchaf

It’s a beautiful campsite, lovely level field the river was gorgeous and our children loved playing in the little stream by the edge of the field. The toilets and showers were kept clean. Gareth was really friendly and even came to the rescue with jump leads.

2 nights at Castle Howard Lakeside Holiday Park

A lovely small campsite with plenty of space. Facilities were clean and not overcrowded washing up had hot water and there was a freezer for ice packs too. Showers were hot too and a good pressure. Signal was not as bad as we’d been led to believe 4G could be found in the camping field although not in the facility block. A really nice place to stay and well worth checking out Castle Howard itself while you’re there, fascinating place.

Lovely private site! Very friendly and helpful - loved the cows nearby :)
