Time for a slice of the simple life? Grab a peaceful Lake District pitch at Church Lane Campsite and immerse yourselves in proper scenic countryside with few distractions. This back to basics site has life’s essentials in place – in the form of drinking water, toilets and showers – but hasn’t gone overboard with other facilities, so you’ll simply be left to set up your space and soak up the gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside. Pitches here are on grass with trees around the field to provide a bit of shelter and shade – and the views are pretty much green as far as you can see. This setting gives the place a remote atmosphere that’s well suited to adventurous travellers, nature lovers and serenity-seeking couples or families. That said, it’s not actually all that remote – handily, you’ll be able to drive to Kendal in about 10 minutes for cultural attractions, shops and places to eat, and popular Windermere is about the same distance in the other direction. Closer still are a smart rural restaurant and the little village of Crook, a mile away and the home of the local pub – both excellent options for a good feed.

Tyne View Camping is a peaceful spot in Tyne and Wear, not far from Hedley on the Hill village. It's on a farm run by David and his family, who welcome guests to enjoy the beautiful countryside views. You can see the Tyne Valley from the camping pitches, which is great for stargazing at night. The site is basic with just water taps and toilets, no showers, but there's lots of space for kids and dogs to play. You're allowed to bring a barbecue or firepit for cooking, and you can buy supplies in Prudhoe nearby. Or, you can walk to Hedley on the Hill for a meal at a top-notch pub. There are plenty of things to do nearby, like walking in the woods, playing golf, or trying gliding. You can also visit Hadrian’s Wall, Newcastle upon Tyne, or explore the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for a varied and enjoyable break.Also this June we will be open for the Sam Fender weekend ie June 12 til the 16th if anyone wants to camp £20 a night plus a taxi for £20

With a private valley, formed in the last ice age, acres of land and woodland to explore, our farm has a very special feeling which has been mentioned by every visitor. Occupied by some beautiful wildlife, including buzzards and owls, deer, badgers and foxes. The Wagons have a grass roof, firepits, sleep 4 (in double bunk format), they are hand-made from reclaimed materials salvaged from the local town and other areas, double skinned and insulated with sheeps wool. They have a 2-ring gas-burner in the cute kitchen area, dining table and seating, and are the perfect home away from home. All the decor is vintage, including cuttlery, crockery and even the childrens teddy's. Being on the doorstep of Dalby Forest, there are hours of entertainment to be had. You can follow the stream at the bottom of the valley to the River Derwent or venture into the surounding woods. We can provide a guest pass (free access) for Dalby Forest. The Wagons are not powered by electricity and are romantically lit by candles and oil lamps. Heated by cast iron gas heaters.

We have a family friendly Quiet campsite in the heart of Lancashire on our family run farm. Our site is situated in a species rich meadow field with large mown Pitches surrounded by wild flowers and meandering pathways linking the site together. The member of you're family who book the pitch must be 21 or over. We are surrounded by a young trees &woodland with the back drop of the Pennines. In the middle of the site, we have a little tots play area, perfect for keeping you're small kids entertained. We are a Quiet family site, with a Reduced Noise policy from 9 pm, and Quiet Time from 10 pm to 8.30 am. Latest check in time is 8PM, unless prearranged with the campsite. Our site has close links to the A6 and m6 J33. We are only 13 miles from the Historic city of Lancaster, the Bright lights of Blackpool and the jubilee city of Preston. 4 miles from the first fair trade market town of Garstang and 45 mins into the Lake District. There is also lots of interesting activities to do locally.

Cute little cabin in a very seculded spot with nature literally on the doorstep. The deer are very friendly and that was definitely a highlight. Everything you needed in the cabin for a lovely break, as long as you don't mind the short walk to the bathroom. The internet didn't work but I got great signal on my phone so wasn't an issue. There are great walks really close by. I'd definitely reccomend a stay here.

We loved our stay in Tan Pod over the weekend. It was cosy and had exactly what we needed for a comfortable stay. The shower had great water pressure and was nice and hot. The amenities were ample and the bed was really comfy. The view was gorgeous and a joy to wake up to. The grounds and surroundings are beautiful. Perfectly situated between Keswick and Penrith with a delicious farm shop 10mins drive away. We would stay here again.

David and Richard are very helpful, friendly and welcoming.. Lots of space and beautiful views. Very lively at the weekend and peaceful in the week - the perfect balance. Sunsets are spectacular. Clean and well maintained toilets on site and water available. Some lovely walks from the site and great pubs near by. Our dog loved it too. Will definitely be back.

Loved our trip. We booked site 2 with compost loo and shower. We were unlucky with the weather after 3 months of heat waves and no rain got every day raining but even with that loved it. Everything was easy and felt really relaxed. Also loved the sauna. Will be back for sure.

We loved camping here in the woods. The pitches are secluded and private- you have your own little patch of relaxing woodland and not a car or campervan in sight! The toilet block was so clean and I really appreciated the soft lighting as it didn't blind you when using the bathroom at night. You can tell Duncan and the team really care about protecting this wooded area and are environmentally conscious. This was also much appreciated. The town is just a 15-20 minute walk away and there is a nice local pub that serves great pies. Haworth is a very short distance away and it was lovely to come back to the woods after a day out.

David is always helpful, willing to help, he's a very courteous helpful person, his site is vast easily accessible, with amazing views of the tyne valley, toilet facilities always clean and cared for, tap water is nice, i will be returning many times, and the pub The 4 Feathers, less that 130m from the site does amazing food, and is a lovely place too

Me and my partner booked here for 4 nights with our two children and are looking to book again, we would highly recommend! The kids loved playing in the beck, we all walked through to the top which was amazing (remember your water shoes!) the campsite was quite and tranquil, we brought our own fire pit and wood but it is available to hire. The hill from the car park to the tents is great exercise but the owner is also there to help you with your things. Toilets and showers were clean. We would recommend any day. Thanks again for having us!
