The campsite supports the 1000-year-old Chantry Farm in the South Downs National Park on Wolstonbury Hill with 3 listed Bronze Age earthworks.
There are some lovely local pubs, the Plough has a great range of food and is a short walk. Ditchling is nearby with real history (see Anne of Cleves house) and some super talented Artist Open Houses in Sept. Brighton and the beach is a short drive or cycle away. The bus service is fine and now includes Sundays so enjoy the city with its quirky independent shops if that's your thing.

Preservation of this precious chalk grassland with its outrageously abundant summer meadow flowers is a priority for us. See the orchids in July.. Welcome guests who share that appreciation. We also care about food security and planted a top fruit orchard with walnuts and cobnuts too! Nature spontaneously provides blackberries, sloes.. which are shared. The Barn Owl have their own boxes (although they still enjoy the big barn) and skylarks sing high above the tussocky terrain. Come join them! Even if your singing isn't so good.

The field is big with lots of space, each pitch has an allocated area. The toilets, showers and other facilities look new and are very clean. Seems very well run and the guy who runs it was very friendly and helpful when I arrived. Close to the small village of Shepardswell which has a coop and a pub. They have a no music policy, so you can expect tranquility.

All you could wish for in a campsite. Every detail carefully considered from the horse box showers, ingenious and plenty of space, roomy pitches with butterflies and wild flower boarders, a gem, look forward to visiting again. Prachtige camping met ruime, uitgemaaide plaatsen. ‘S avonds hoorden we de bosuilen. Heel zacht op de achtergrond is de snelweg te horen. Door de week rustig, Engelsen kamperen voornamelijk in het weekend. De pizza en koffie corner is dan ook gesloten door de week. Hout is te koop bij de camping eigenaar. Philip is vriendelijk en positief.
Wc en douche is basic zoals meestal op de Britse campings, maar prima.

Beautiful campsite. Well spaced out pitches with loads of room for big tents and plenty of room for the children to run around without worrying about them bothering other guests. Would recommend the pizzas on Saturday night, too! We’ve stayed at lots of great campsites this summer and this was easily our favourite.

My partner and I stayed in the orchard field for two nights . Stunning is an understatement. Beautiful views , immaculate facilities , open air shower and compost toilet.
Our pitch was spacious and felt very private.
