A holiday taking in two countries – a tad ambitious? Not in the slightest. Take off to Offa’s Dyke Retreat and such escapades are very easy indeed, as you’re almost on the border of England and Wales, with plenty of gorgeous scenery and outdoorsy antics on both sides of the divide.
Site is set in 3 acres with new 2023 communal space, including games room sofa snug, dinning area, new wet rooms and kitchen to be complete December 2023.
You can start gazing at that scenery without even leaving this friendly glamping site in the little village of Longtown, for the outlook here is one of the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park. Ready for a closer look? Get those boots on and set off for a wander. The Offa’s Dyke path passes nearby on its way from Pandy to Hay-on-Wye, and there are lots of little local paths to explore too.
A stroll of a much less strenuous variety (barely a 7 minute, in fact) takes you to the local pub for home-cooked meals, local ales. If you can manage a little further (a 6 minutes walk), you can get to a fab village shop stacked with fresh and frozen food, local tipples and homemade cakes. Stock up there and trot back to the site for a picnic or barbecue (firepit provided, with firewood available to buy on site), or use the well-equipped communal kitchen to prep your eats.
5 ensuite railway carriages with kitchenette, 2 pods and 3 further carriages use shared facilities on site include a toilet block with a couple of showers; no need to bring your own towels, as you’ll be provided with these when you get here, along with bedding for your cosy sleeping quarters.

Weekend Trip to Offas Dyke Retreat
The hut was stunning, perfectly presented and stocked with towels, dressing gowns, tea / coffee / sugar, hairdryer and everything you would need to cook.
The hot tub was amazing - I had worried it would have been cold but it was perfect.
As our visit was during rainy January I had worried the hut may have been cold but it was toasty with the heater and very cosy.
A perfect getaway.

We had the best time in the Shepherd's Huts - it's such a magical place to stay, with beautiful views over the fields and even it's own little woodland walk. We spent two nights just us and our son, then my cousins pitched a tent on the third night. It was so peaceful to be surrounded by nature and have the place to ourselves. The huts were beautiful and cosy and the beds were comfy too. There was everything we needed to have a camping experience that felt both wild yet easy and with all that we needed. Thanks Abbey Home Farm!

We had a fantastic weekend stay at the Glamping site. We stayed in The Hayloft which was a truly unique experience and one we absolutely loved! The views across the countryside were awesome and the hot tub to end the night in made it truly special aswell. The host made us both feel very welcome. Would highly recommend!

We loved the glamping experiance yurt was nice and cosy and had everything we needed inside from pots and pans glasses to camp stove and kettle . Hot tub was fantastic stayed warm for hours. Absolutely beautiful and special site. Especially amazing if you have animal loving kids like us!
Excellent yurts, really cosy and had everything we needed. Chris was the perfect host, welcoming but also left us to have a relaxing weekend.
Hot tub was great and so was the friendly animals! The red lion pub and chestnut tree cafe were great highlights.
Already planning on returning and hiring both yurts!

We loved camping at Cornflower! It's a great location, views are amazing and the hut charming and cozy providing a peaceful escape. Amazing lodges, our family had Kites Nest and Barn Owl Lodge and they were perfect for our group size, including a toddler and elderly woman! They were comfortable and gorgeous. Interiors and views were stunning, I couldn't believe the sunsets at night, the hot tubs were such a treat and both lodges had fantastic seating areas on the deck, we went on the steam railway and enjoyed a BBQ at the lodge. Would love to come back next year.

Where to go
North Malvern Hills
The northern hills are the place to escape the crowds. Follow the many Discovery Trails through rolling farmlands and orchards, take a walk in the Ravenshill Woodland Reserve, then adjourn to a country pub for a hearty lunch. Further south, the Knapp and Papermill Nature Reserve has tree-lined trails and picnic spots along Leigh Brook.
South Malvern Hills
The town of Great Malvern lies at the heart of the hills and leads the way to some of the region’s most popular hikes. Climb Worcestershire Beacon for a view from the hills’ highest point, explore the Iron Age hillfort at British Camp, then admire the mighty Georgian castle at Eastnor.
Wye Valley
Southwest of the Malvern Hills, the Wye Valley AONB stretches over the border into Wales. Paddle down the Wye River on a canoe, enjoy dramatic hikes through forested gorges, or park your campervan at idyllic riverside camping grounds. There’s plenty for non-hikers to enjoy too, from the evocative ruins of Tintern Abbey to sampling the region’s famous cider.
Cotswolds
Another AONB within day-trip distance of the Malvern Hills is the Cotswolds, England’s quintessential country getaway. This is the realm of gastropubs, luxury glamping, and artisan shopping, but don’t be put off by its high-flying reputation—there are also endless options for scenic hikes and leisurely bike rides.
