It’s all rather peaceful out in the South Yorkshire countryside, where Mooreacres resides. This dog-friendly site has a splendid rural setting in Hatfield Woodhouse, and activities around here are along the lines of gorgeous walks and birdwatching in nature reserves or kayaking, paddleboarding and open-water swimming at Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre 35 minutes’ walk away. If that doesn’t sound just splendid already, the centre of the local village is only around half an hour’s walk away. That means that pubs and takeaways are never too far off. Of course, another, rather attractive option is to rustle together your own barbecue (which are handily permitted on site). There are shops in the village for sourcing cuts of meat, buns and other essential ingredients. For those of you who adore a day spent with your fishing rod and family or friends, the village also has several fishing lakes, all within walking distance of the site. The lakes at Hatfield Moors Nature Reserve are just a little further out (just five minutes’ drive, to be exact) and a scenic place for spying on birdlife, including nightjars. When you fancy a drink or a bite to eat and you want it quickly, the closest pub is just 15 minutes’ walk away (they run a carvery and stone-fired pizza for the foodies among you). Weekend Trip to Secret Wood Glamping

Me and my partner came here for a much needed city break by tent and it was honestly amazing! The shower and toilet are seperate facilities and both clean, there is a kitchen too with a gas stove for cooking! The site is near anywhere you'd like to drive or even walk to around the peak district, and in the actual site itself you can see all the altitude and beauty around you. The air is incredibly fresh, and the owners of the campsite are really sweet and helpful. Will definitely come back for our next trip to the peak district this summer, thank you for having us :)

We camped in a lovely field, with amazing facilities. Clean showers with plentiful hot water, clean toilets and a washing up area. We had an electric pitch right on the edge of the fields with lovely views of the sunset. It wasn't very busy during our stay, so was very peaceful. Close to some great restaurants which were very child-friendly. We paid extra for a campfire each night, but unfortunately, due to the strong winds on our 2nd night, we thought it would be safer to not use this! The campsite manager covered it for us to prevent it getting wet in any case. Lovely place, would definitely stay here again!

My Husband and I really enjoyed our 3 night stay in our campervan the sight is easy to assess and the plots are quite spacious we ate a Sunday lunch in the restaurant which I highly recommend we will definitely be visiting the Red Lion again in the near future.

The site is absolutely as described. Owners friendly and always around. Fairly priced. Will definitely be back. It’s what camping should be, facilities but not state of the art. Just what you need. Small and perfectly sized. Loved the honesty shed with fresh produce to buy. Fire wood, fresh eggs, honey & sausage/burgers etc in the freezer. Such a nice touch especially that it was all sourced from the farm. Only thing I would say is if you can put a sign on the door with opening times of the shed it would have saved my little lads legs at 7.30 walking for milk lol! Other than that. Perfect!

Loved our time camping here, facilities were great, toilets cleaned regularly and the general atmosphere of the site was lovely. Some lovely views can be enjoyed by the campfire at night too which made it all the more enjoyable.

We opted to ppait our surroundings rather than a hike on Sunday, the site was that peaceful we didn't wanna leave it for the hustle an bustle.

Lovely rural back to basics campsite easy to find .. charlotte was lovely.. there too meet you show you the amenities! Then just left you too it but was around should you need her. The honesty shop was great we forgot sausages, there we bought the pork 1s which was delicious. Communal cooking facilities was great if needed although we didn't use .. I did use the shower which was great (only thing I'd say was a light in there it was dark once the door was shut) The peace an quite not just at night, during the day too is exactly what we was looking for none of us wanted to leave and will definitely be back again soon. Added bonus of a near by festival providing some great live music yesterday too which we loved.
