Fancy some secluded downtime exploring rural coastal Suffolk? The tree-shaded pitches at Hill Farm are in a peaceful setting near the market towns of Saxmundham and Halesworth, and handily accessible from the A12, as well as to the coast and pretty villages, historical hamlets, and popular seaside towns, such as Southwold and Aldeburgh. This is a site that welcomes families and groups of friends, and it's dog-friendly too (there’s a 4-acre woodland to the north of the site that's great for dog walking). The site has good TV reception for relaxing indoors on damp or chilly days. The popular village of Westleton (10 minutes’ drive) has a village store, a farm shop, a garage and 2 pubs; and if you fancy a change from cooking, there is also a nice pub and a tearoom, in the Darsham village area (only 5 minutes drive or a 30 minute walk away through some lovely fields). Back on site, there are a toilet cabins with hot running water, plus other facilities including 4 showers, a portaloo, and a washing machine, grey waste and chemical toilet disposal and recycling points. Wi-fi is nearly all over the site too. The shared facilities at the top of the site also has a fridge and a washing up area, with a warm water tap, a nearby kettle and a plug socket for charging mobiles. Picnic tables, PIR lighting and Starlink wifi is also provided. Please not that dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, and yes campfires are allowed, as long as the fire pit is raised off the ground and the fire is supervised at all times, with a bucket of water at hand too. We had a lovely stay! This is a great campsite with lots of lovely places to park up. Some more secluded than others which was great for us. Good facilities and lots of extras like picnic benches, areas for washing up, children’s toys to name a few.

We had a fabulous night here. Lovely, quiet field with plenty of space. The toilets and showers were very clean. No light pollution at all-great for star gazing. There were fire pits to hire and wood if we needed it. Lovely dog walks from the camp and a good local pub nearby. Peter and his wife were super friendly and incredibly helpful. We will definitely be back!

I had a beautiful peaceful night camping with my van in Archers Field. I was very fortunate to have the whole site to myself, sharing it with the owls, kingfisher, ducks, robins and blackbirds and all the other creatures. Great location and clean facilities. Will be going back for sure!

Weekend Trip to Coxhill Camping

The field is big with lots of space, each pitch has an allocated area. The toilets, showers and other facilities look new and are very clean. Seems very well run and the guy who runs it was very friendly and helpful when I arrived. Close to the small village of Shepardswell which has a coop and a pub. They have a no music policy, so you can expect tranquility.

Lovely place, rustic and very back to nature. My son loved the whole experience! The little river is a winner and him and his friend had the best time on it the boats and paddle boards. Such a lovely relaxing and peaceful place for us adults aswell! Morag was so friendly and approachable and very laid back.

We loved camping in the bell tents. The views were amazing. We loved that the sheep and donkey roam around the campsite area. The kids activities were a lovely touch and my son enjoyed taking the goat for a walk. We will be back some day!

Peter was a great host and the campsite felt calm and quiet even at full capacity over bank holiday weekend. I would say the number of showers and toilets were appropriate for the number of campers. The firewood and eggs for sale were a nice touch and the fridge/freezer was handy for people wanting to keep bits cool. We had a great stay and will be back. Thank you!

Absolutely wonderful site. Not only was the pitch beautiful, by the lake and under an oak tree, but the owners went above and beyond to help us when we realised one of our tents was missing it's poles!? Even finding a tent locally for us to borrow! What could have been a disastrous trip, turned into a perfect vacation. We have the amazing hospitality of all at archer's field to thank for saving the day and providing such a great campsite. Simply can't say enough about this hidden gem of a campsite... We will definitely come back next season.

Having the farm animals in the same field as us, and them being as relaxed around us as we were around them, was magical. There are full on working farms and at the other end of the spectrum are children’s petting farms - this is neither, it’s living together naturally. We brought our own tent and were told to pitch up anywhere we liked and can make our own fire to cook in etc, and forage for wood in the forest, back to nature stuff. We collected eggs every morning from the chickens and cooked them on the fire - the children were amazed and adored it.

Thanks so much Morag for another magical stay- second time staying with you but first with our children and it was a great success. A lot has changed since our first stay last year with the addition of a new yurt kitchen complete with all the essentials needed, new zip wire, woodland play area and sandpit. The farm has absolutely everything- beautiful surroundings, camping along the river with ample space for the kids to run and play. We made use of all the facilities, there are boats on site so we took these along the river, the children fed the chickens and collected eggs in the morning, they also thoroughly enjoyed walking the goats and spending time with all the other animals on the farm. So overall a great success and we will without a doubt be booking again very soon so once again huge THANK YOU....keep up the good work :)

Love the Coxhill camping! Great location, spacious pitch and immaculate facilities. We were here 2 years ago and were not disappointed this time - everything is in perfect shape! Will likely to come back next summer.
