Nestled in the quiet village of Hollym, East Yorkshire our caravan and camping site makes for a perfect getaway.
Calling all walkers and wildlife spotters… fancy pitching up within strolling distance of not one, but two nature reserves? That’s the deal at Garth Farm Caravan and Camping in Hollym, less than 10 minutes’ drive from Withernsea’s coast and 40 minutes from Hull.
It's all trees and open fields in the surrounds of this family-run East Yorkshire site, and the pleasing rural views continue at Toffling Hill Reserve (a few minutes’ walk), a place of grassy areas, boundary trees and a shallow pond to explore.
Continue your amble for a further 15 minutes to hit the woodland, meadow and open water of Hollym Carrs Reserve, where you should certainly keep an eye out for a variety of birds, mammals and insects while you wander.
We are located 2 miles from Withernsea, the nearest beach and seaside town. Surrounded by trees and open fields the site is off the beaten track with two nature reserves within walking distance. Within a 10 minute walk there is a village pub and garden centre and cafe.

When it’s a ‘proper’ Suffolk wild-camping adventure you’re after, have a look at Lions Row, a spacious back‑to‑basics site on a working farm just outside Ufford. It’s completely surrounded by countryside, but only a handy five minutes’ drive from the pubs, takeaways and shops in Wickham Market.
You'll park at the edge of a three-acre meadow and walk around 50–250 yards to the pitches, which are mown into the long grass. It’s a clever spot for families as it’s a mile from the nearest road, making it quiet and safe for kids to roam freely without any danger from traffic.
As this is wild camping, facilities are minimal: drinking water, a simple washing-up sink, compost loos and basic gas-heated outdoor showers are your lot. However, you’ll wake up to birdsong every morning and go to sleep by starlight on clear nights; just remember to bring torches and batteries for after-dark wanderings.
The views are peaceful and rural, and the field is bordered by deciduous woodland – great for exercising any four-legged pals – criss-crossed with footpaths leading to country pubs (there are four within half an hour’s walk). It’s also close to heritage attractions such as Sutton Hoo (10 minutes’ drive).

This site is an absolute gem. It’s so friendly and well managed with every detail well thought out. A well stocked honesty shop with everything you could possibly need. From firelighters, logs &. Kindling for cosy nights; toiletries & hair accessories; to sun creams & ice creams. A large, covered seating area, games, books, Wi-Fi, anything you could possibly need is available. Pitches are a good size. Facilities clean with lovely touches

Lovely campsite with lots of amenities like fridge freezer, kettle and toaster. All very well laid out and clearly organised! The site itself is quiet and pretty, lots of level ground and space. I will be back!
