Tyne View Camping is a peaceful spot in Tyne and Wear, not far from Hedley on the Hill village. It's on a farm run by David and his family, who welcome guests to enjoy the beautiful countryside views.
You can see the Tyne Valley from the camping pitches, which is great for stargazing at night. The site is basic with just water taps and toilets, no showers, but there's lots of space for kids and dogs to play.
You're allowed to bring a barbecue or firepit for cooking, and you can buy supplies in Prudhoe nearby. Or, you can walk to Hedley on the Hill for a meal at a top-notch pub.
There are plenty of things to do nearby, like walking in the woods, playing golf, or trying gliding. You can also visit Hadrian’s Wall, Newcastle upon Tyne, or explore the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for a varied and enjoyable break.Also this June we will be open for the Sam Fender weekend ie June 12 til the 16th if anyone wants to camp £20 a night plus a taxi for £20

Our three, brand new wood and canvas yurts are nestled in our private, woodland hotel garden beside the beautiful conservation (SSSI) river of Scandal Beck. Just a short drive from The Lake District, The Yorkshire and Durham Dales as well as The Scottish Border, we are perfectly located for you to explore.
The yurts themselves are individually decorated with full size furniture, electricity and double beds. The yurts are all located in the garden of The Black Swan Hotel, Ravenstonedale, a multi award-winning hotel, restaurant and bar; recipient of 2 AA Rosettes as well as AA pub of the year for England 2018/19. As part of your stay in our yurts you will receive a full cooked breakfast and buffet option included in the price for 2 people in our hotel restaurant. We like to think of ourselves as a cosy home from home with a relaxed dining atmosphere throughout. We are very dog friendly in the hotel, restaurant, bar and yurts so please bring your furry family members.
Our beautiful woodland is also home to red squirrels (which are seen daily), protected, freshwater crayfish in the river, an otter (seen very infrequently but the nemesis of our ducks), 6 Indian runner ducks, free range chickens and our two cockerels! (Dogs are very welcome but are to be kept on a lead whilst in the woodland itself).
We are very dog friendly and charge an additional fee of £15 for 1 dog/ £20 for 2 dogs for an additional cleaning fee and for some dog friendly goodies such as poop bags and treats. The price of this yurt is based on an occupancy of 2 people. Any other people who will be staying on the sofa bed will add a charge of £40 per person per night for breakfast and their stay.
All yurts come with electrical battery pack, chargeable lanterns, tea/coffee, homemade biscuits, log burning stoves, towels, full breakfast included from the hotel, an outdoor seating area and access to our outdoor toasty warm woodland shower as well as our very cute, wooden toilet cabin. Hairdryers are available in the hotel for your use.

With a private valley, formed in the last ice age, acres of land and woodland to explore, our farm has a very special feeling which has been mentioned by every visitor. Occupied by some beautiful wildlife, including buzzards and owls, deer, badgers and foxes.
The Wagons have a grass roof, firepits, sleep 4 (in double bunk format), they are hand-made from reclaimed materials salvaged from the local town and other areas, double skinned and insulated with sheeps wool. They have a 2-ring gas-burner in the cute kitchen area, dining table and seating, and are the perfect home away from home.
All the decor is vintage, including cuttlery, crockery and even the childrens teddy's.
Being on the doorstep of Dalby Forest, there are hours of entertainment to be had. You can follow the stream at the bottom of the valley to the River Derwent or venture into the surounding woods. We can provide a guest pass (free access) for Dalby Forest.
The Wagons are not powered by electricity and are romantically lit by candles and oil lamps. Heated by cast iron gas heaters.

Our camps are spread out across our site, each one secluded from the others with nothing to see but the meadows, woods, views and at night the starry skies.
The site is truly wild, with ancient woodland to one side with a beck running through it, and fields which we are rewilding full of wildflowers, bees and butterflies. The wildlife runs riot, with deer, owls, badgers, bats and all kinds of wild birds regular visitors. To preserve our wilderness and peace no cars are allowed on site; our visitors walk down the fields to their camps, leaving the real world with their cars at the gate (if you have mobility problems please contact us directly).
Our camps are completely off-grid making it perfect for those looking for a digital detox and to get away from the stresses and strains of modern life. We try hard to be gentle on this beautiful place we call home, and the site is designed to be low impact on the environment with it’s own spring water, composting toilets and willow banks. All lighting is solar or via rechargeable batteries and eco-friendly washing products are provided.
All the camps have a luxurious feeling despite feeling completely cut off from the outside world, with proper beds with comfy mattresses and their own hot showers; luxury bedding and fluffy towels are provided. Each camp has been handbuilt entirely by us from scratch from things that are recycled, found, car booted, made, upcycled, saved or rescued. Some things are on their third or even fourth life on the farm. Look out for the details, expect the unexpected, this is not glamping by numbers.
Nothing says glamping to us like a real fire at the end of the day, toasting marshmallows, sharing stories and putting the day to rest. Each camp has a firepit for you to do just this.
There is very little mobile reception in many places on the farm and we wholeheartedly recommend you take this as an opportunity to leave your phone with the rest of the modern world behind for your stay and remember what it is to live a little bit wild.

Directions were clear. The 2 toilets and 2 showers were very clean. The hooks in the showers were very helpful. The dishwashing station was clean (with access to drinking water). There’s also a longer sink with a big mirror for getting ready.
The log shop came in very handy and we were able to buy a fire pit, wood, and kindling. This included a lighter. We just scanned and paid through Monzo. Easy.
Gorgeous views from the campsite. We saw sheep, cows, and horses on the surrounding land.
Amazing for stargazing at night. Would definitely recommend.

We loved camping here in the woods. The pitches are secluded and private- you have your own little patch of relaxing woodland and not a car or campervan in sight! The toilet block was so clean and I really appreciated the soft lighting as it didn't blind you when using the bathroom at night.
You can tell Duncan and the team really care about protecting this wooded area and are environmentally conscious. This was also much appreciated.
The town is just a 15-20 minute walk away and there is a nice local pub that serves great pies.
Haworth is a very short distance away and it was lovely to come back to the woods after a day out.

We had a fantastic weekend at Aldwark Bridge Glamping. The Shepherd’s Hut was gorgeous, very comfortable and luxurious. The grounds and outdoor kitchen are great and the direct access to the river was perfect to practice our paddleboarding. Matt and Jo (and the dogs) were fantastic hosts. We’d definitely book again x

Weekend Trip to Coast and Camplight Whitby Glamping
This place is magical. We were blown away by the campsite, the land and the owners. It was our first trip away with our 1 year old as a family. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place. The campsite is so well cared for, the rewilding is nothing short of incredible; Ed and Verity are real stewards of the land. We saw deer, owls and other wildlife right from the tent. The tent and facilities itself were so well maintained and thoughtful. We had every we needed to cook, the tent itself was cosy and comfy. From the honesty shop, to the fire pit, from the stove to the bed, everything has been thought about meticulously. Our favourite part was the rotating kitchen, being able to shelter from wind or pick the perfect view. The shower was hot, and the facilities were everything we needed. We absolutely will be staying again, please don’t think twice about booking.

Me and my partner booked here for 4 nights with our two children and are looking to book again, we would highly recommend! The kids loved playing in the beck, we all walked through to the top which was amazing (remember your water shoes!) the campsite was quite and tranquil, we brought our own fire pit and wood but it is available to hire. The hill from the car park to the tents is great exercise but the owner is also there to help you with your things. Toilets and showers were clean. We would recommend any day. Thanks again for having us!

A great, peaceful site, it's massive, with lots of choice for your plot, easy vehicle access, park next to your campsite, toilets dotted around the site, all clean, well maintained, I brought my own water but that was my choice as water is available on site, I got a warm welcome from the host, which was great 👍. I was so pleased I booked again in two weeks time. The site also provides fire pits and would at a reasonable price. And the views across the valley OMG you can see for miles, n night time skywatchers will love the clear night's. Totally brill team and site

This is such a peaceful and beautiful campsite. I loved my stay in a tent. The site is very family friendly, hot showers (if that's your thing when camping!), and plenty of space per pitch. The place has a lovely vibe, and it's near to footpath walks and of course Castle Howard.
