Welcome to Restoule! We have 60 acres of very private camping. Our land is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. We have loads of trails and a 2500ft canal that leads to Commanda lake. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals. The site is well maintained and the forest is quiet and beautiful. Guests can enjoy hiking, biking, wildlife watching, and so much more! Our property is family and pet friendly, designed specifically for those who really enjoy camping without 1500 neighbors and a fun o'clock switch. I live on the canal trail half way to the lake. The campsite is on the opposite side of the property.

Cranberry Camp is located 7 kms past the village of Pointe au Baril. It’s surrounded by Ontario native forest (the “bush”) and wetlands in the hinterlands of Georgian Bay. We love to share this beautiful part of the world with visitors! We are 3kms from Sturgeon bay Provincial Park (a nice beach!) and 3kms from the Bayfield Inlet public launch on Georgian Bay (visit the iconic pink rocks and windswept trees of Georgian Bay). We came to this area because of the fresh air and clean water. Visitors to the area should be aware that you cannot see any of the Georgian Bay coastline from the highway or roads. We highly recommend you get out on the water in a boat of some kind (there is water access near here for canoes, kayaks and other boats). We also recommend that visitors go to the French River Provincial Park to understand the unique history and culture of the area. That park is 35-40 min north from here and has a lovely small museum/interpretive centre and a footbridge over the French River. This secondary highway (ON 529) is fairly quiet and decent for cycling. It's very quiet north of the ON 529A turn-off! Cranberry Camp also has a small house, a guest lodge for retreats (we host healthy living and healthy building workshops), 2 lovely and private recreational vehicles (a 24’ Jayco and a 27’ Cougar) as well as a tiny home. All spaces are scent-free, low VOC and no WiFi. We help people create healthy homes and buildings. Hipcamp sites are accessed from hard-packed dirt/gravel driveway either perpendicular or parallel to the road. An outhouse contains a composting toilet (using the Humanure system), a solar light and jug of water for handwashing. We love to host people getting away from the city or taking exploratory road trips.

Privately Accessed Lake,44Acre Land

8. Privately Accessed Lake,44Acre Land

29km from Sturgeon Bay Provincial Park · 5 sites · Tents, RVs
Tucked away in the heart of Carling Township, this 44-acre private property offers exclusive, private access to a pristine 10-acre lake entirely off the beaten path. The lake is surrounded by our land and Crown land — no public roads, no boat launches, no other access points. The only way in? Through our property. You’ll have the lake to yourself. The Lake: This is not your average campsite pond. At 10 acres, the lake is large enough to paddle, fish, and explore freely. Its waters are calm, clear, and undisturbed. Whether you’re launching a canoe at dawn, casting a line in the afternoon, or watching stars reflect off the surface at night, this lake will be the centerpiece of your trip. • 🎣 Fishing in a rarely-touched, naturally stocked lake • 🛶 Paddling & swimming with zero crowds • 🦅 Wildlife watching — loons, herons, eagles, and more • 🌙 Stargazing over open water with zero light pollution The Land: Our 44 acres span a remarkable mix of terrain — calm lakefront, open meadows, and exposed Canadian Shield rock formations with sweeping views of the surrounding wilderness. Each corner has its own character. Beyond our boundary, 200 acres of adjoining Crown land is open to explore — hike deeper into the forest, discover hidden clearings, or wander wherever curiosity takes you. • 🏔️ Canadian Shield outcroppings — climb, scramble, and take in the views • 🌿 Open meadows perfect for morning walks or afternoon lounging • 🌲 Dense forest trails leading into untouched backcountry • 🏕️ Lakefront clearings ideal for campfires and stargazing Who This Is For: Perfect for those who want the “I had a whole lake to myself” story. Families, couples, anglers, paddlers, and anyone craving genuine solitude in wild Ontario. A Note on Access: Because the lake is enclosed by private and Crown land with no other entry points, guests are the only people with access during their stay. Please treat this rare environment with care. Stay Connected: You won’t be out of reach — cell signal is strong throughout the property, thanks to a nearby cell tower. Peace of mind, without sacrificing peace and quiet.
