Great location, Thomas was great!
Like the location....very different from what I expected. Had both 50 and 30 amp service. Easy to get in and out. Thomas was extremely helpful....giving lots of tips of how to get to Niagara Falls and Toronto. Would recommend staying there.

We absolutely loved staying with Thomas at Tomtuga on the Erie Canal. We were traveling with another couple and we both had electrical hookups. Thomas had a fire waiting for us every night when we returned from our adventures at Niagara Falls and surrounding areas.
He was much more than our host. He became our tour guide and friend. We will miss him!

Bigfoot, Yeti, foxes and frogs!
Thomas couldn't have been a better host. He went far out of his way to find answers to all our questions, even leading us to the Lockport boat tours, provided info for our Toronto, Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake excursions. He provided campfires each night and was amazingly entertaining. Five stars from us!!!

This site exceeded our expectations. I don’t think Thomas does his space justice in his description! We are traveling with a trailer and were looking for a place close to Niagara Falls where we could camp and ditch the trailer while we went into town to do the touristy thing. We just needed something serviceable, but this space was more than that. It is very peaceful with a view of the canal. A grassy space with character (LED lights in the field at night, odds and ends of old equipment, a putting green at the tent site, etc). Thomas was full of helpful information about the area and the best roads and bridges to travel on. We were there only a short time, but thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our host.

Highly recommend
Tom was an awesome host. Right on the canal and within driving distance to Niagara Falls. A beautiful, quiet location. My kids loved the railroad track. It comes twice a week during the day and didn’t bother us at all, it actually added to our experience in a very positive way.

Simple but nice and easy
Simple but easy and quiet. Thomas was very laidback, accommodating, and courteous. The location is excellent for exploring the Niagra Falls area while staying away from the booked-out campgrounds.

Country Care
Thomas was an awesome, very helpful, and low key HipCamp host. Nice property that can support big rigs easily (we have a 40’ class A motorhome with a tow behind).
Also, we ended up getting a flat tire on our Jeep - Thomas and his wonderful neighbor, Roy, checked the tire out and switched it out with our spare. Getting us back on the road for our day trip to Niagara Falls and saving our day. Incredibly good people!!
A must stay 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Camping at Tomtuga was a blast!!!
Everything about this camp was enjoyable. The host was the most gracious, sweet, and interesting man. The history and “surprises” on this property keep you entertained. It’s on the Erie Canal so my husband and I enjoyed bike riding to other canal side towns, fishing from Tom’s front yard, and patronizing local businesses which are within walking (or biking) distance. So much history and beauty. It is a peacefully quiet property. Very little traffic noise. We loved every moment of our stay. We will be back!

Explore the Erie Canal
Thomas was excellent with communication before our visit as well as while we were there. His location is great for exploration along the Erie Canal, and not too far from Niagara Falls. This was an overnight stop for us, but we would have enjoyed a longer stay. We are in a 43' motorhome, and had no issues. Very quiet, restful spot.

Peaceful, Pleasant, Private
Two acres situated across the road from the Erie Canal. We took the bridge in Gasport, 3 minutes away, crossed the Canal and biked the Erie Canal Heritage Trail.
Our host was welcoming, and a fount of knowledge about the Canal and local history.
Just wait 'til the lights come on at night. We won't spoil it for you. It's a one-of-a kind, must see experience. Highly recommended.

What a great spot! We were looking for a quiet place to stay within an hour of Niagra Falls. This fit the bill perfectly. But the real gem of it all was Tom. He met us at the gate to welcome us and provided a list of things to know in the area, completle with a corresponding map! So thoughtful!!!! If we're ever back in this area, we'll definitely stay here again.

Lovely stop on the Erie Canal
A quiet and unique stop that fit our needs. I had been looking for a place close to niagara falls but I'm glad we ended up in the quiet little town of Gasport. Our visit to niagara falls was about 40 minutes away. So, not too bad. We even made a stop at lake Ontario on our way back. Thomas was ready with a map of the area and info with ammenity and food suggestions. He is very friendly and knowledgeable about both the local and surrounding areas/points of interests and happy to share. We enjoyed our time there and would stay there again if we are ever back through that way.

Cute property!
A cute property, and despite there being train tracks by it, barely any trains went by. It’s right by a stream that also looks nice. Tom is a great guy and fun to talk to! A great experience!

We had a really good time, easy access for a kayak in the canal, and the train was neat to see right from camp. Nice cute town within walking distance to the dollar general. We had a great time, would not hesitate to visit again. Thomas was an excellent host
Thanks Again,
Adam

Very Grateful for help
Thomas was a wonderful host and very knowledgeable. He recommended a great little restaurant for Friday night dinner, Sunrise cafe. And because of lots of rain, offered his awning. And several nearby places to run and get some pictures. The Olcutt Beach antique Carousel was special. Then i got an emergency phone call and advised Thomas i had to leave suddenly. He offered to let me leave my trailer, making it easier to drive over 400 miles and because everything was so wet and muddy, said just leave it where it was and he would move it before his next guest.
His property is still undergoing renovations, but his dream is very doable.
Would definitely like to revisit in a few months or so to see his progress

Thomas was a gracious and interesting host. He has lots of knowledge about the Erie canal and the railroads. He volunteers at the local railroad museum. The Erie canal is right across the street. The dogs loved swimming and just walking along the bank. The site itself is flat and easy to get into. We were the very first hip campers staying here. Thomas is doing a great job!
