This cedar cabin was built in the late 1950's and was the first building in Birch Creek Subdivision and was used as the real estate office when selling land for Subdivision. Joy Moore bought this fixer-upper in 1986 when the oilfield went under, at a youngster in her early twenties and has owned ever since. Lake Somerville is known for the best fishing lake in Texas. Deer run plentiful on the property and will come up close and personal when fed corn. So, stop and pick up a sack or two of deer corn before arrival. The closest city is about a 20 minute drive to Somerville so make sure to have everything you need before camping. 3 nights at P² Farm | Scenic River Camping

I really enjoyed my time at the p2 farm. First off, the beautiful horses, the open land, the sweet puppies, the male and female sheep hip to hip couple, the 400 year old Mother Tree, the open starry sky, the river, to Makayla’s wonderful hospitality was everything I was hoping for when I booked. The bus was a plus since I did not have to do much camp set up and had my own space and refrigerator! It was nicely remodeled and very cozy even for 2 people and 3 mid sized dogs! Our dogs got to roam freely. I also got to view the campsites near the Mother Tree and the river bank which were very nice. There’s a large communal area for cooking and gathering. I highly recommend this place if you really want the farm life while roughing it as true camper! I got the luxury of having 80 degree weather during the day and 60 degree weather at night. Perfect for a fire. And this was in December! They also offer horse trail rides which I plan to do next time!

3 nights at Blue Lagoon Pond & Cabin

Super cute little fishing cabin that was stocked with everything we needed for a small thanksgiving celebration with our adult kids and pets. We enjoyed fishing at the lake just around the corner. Our only drawback was the burn ban that prohibited s'mores over the fire pit each night, but we can only blame the Texas weather for that. We had a great stay and would come back again. Thank you Joy!

3 nights at Deer Trail Cabin sleeps 6

This place is awesome. The interior is like a luxury cabin with all the amenities and comforts you have at home. Excellent air conditioning, amazing waterfall shower, WiFi, and so many other great features to the cabin make it the best cabin we have ever stayed at. The host Tanya was friendly and had very fast responses to any questions. The location is in an RV park that has charcoal grills, players for the little ones, and great open areas to run with the kids or dogs. It was extremely quiet in regards to neighbors. There are some animal noises from geese and a few dogs but we felt that added to the country feel. A mile or so down the road is one of the best lakes in Texas and since it’s a state park it’s extremely safe and a pristine environment. A few minutes down the road in the opposite direction is a Dollar General for all the items you forgot or want some extra snack or drink. We will absolutely be coming back in the near future.

Weekend Trip to Great Escapes Bryan/College Station

This is without a doubt one epic and chill place! Love the cabin and the atmosphere! People are super friendly, accommodations are clean, cool, and very comfortable. This is our new go to for staying when visiting!
