Calico Camp is a lovely, shady spot on private property about 2 miles from Calico Rock Main Street and the White River. Rich in history and great fishing. Bring your boat and kayak. Or, you can rent one in town. There are fishing guides available, too.
I moved here in 2016 from Atlanta, Georgia. I actually lived in an RV in a beautiful park for several years there. And, loved it! I thought I was going to do that here, but changed my mind when I found this sweet little house on a couple of acres. Deer visit us, and bunnies make their homes here. I have cats and dogs of my own.

Nice, private, shady. Easy to get to from Hwy. 56. About 2 miles from the White River and Main Street Calico Rock.
Turn from Hwy. 56 can be tricky for big rigs because of a ditch at Jones Street. Left hand turn is easier than right hand turn.
You can use the parking lot across the street to help you back your rig into the campsite. We have permission from the owner to do that.
There is room for your boat, too. Pets are welcome. Close to grocery, bank, gas.
The White River is famous for its trout fishing. Deer hunting in the area, too. (Not on this property.)
The hookups are on the left side (right side if you back in). You may need extensions for your power and sewer. I have them available, if you don’t have your own.

We had a great time camping on Teresa's land. It has all the hookups you need and more! Very peaceful remote area, but still close enough to Van Buren that fetching any forgotten supplies is a breeze. She was also very kind, suggesting locations, offering advise, and even getting us some extra fire wood. One thing of note is to not listen to your GPS when arriving and actually read Teresa's email with detailed directions. Lol Otherwise you end up down her neighbor's driveway and look like an idiot. 😂

Teresa was a great host! She sent me very clear directions to her land before we arrived. When we got there, she welcomed us and told us the best restaurants in the area and sites to see and answered any questions we had. She offered free firewood. Her land was right off the main highway, but had minimal traffic noise. It was just a few miles away from big Spring, a must see!

We had a wonderful, quiet stay here. Unfortunately, there is a severe drought and the creek wasn’t running but it was so quiet and peaceful that we didn’t even mind. The river is a hop skip and a jump from our camping spot so we ran down to take a look and enjoy the view. Speaking of views, it is worth taking the trails! We would definitely come back and encourage others to enjoy this property as well.

We stayed in the glamping tent, it was our first time ever staying in something like this. We typically either tent camp or stay in a cabin. It was a great location on the scenic byway. It was close to everything we wanted to see and do for a short weekend. The site was clean and the bed was super comfy. The night got cool so we were thankful for the heated bed. Where to begin!!??? We absolutely loved our stay at BRCM!... we stayed in our camper on an electric site and it was fantastic from start to finish. Roger and Lela are just incredible people who have created a very special place. Between the swimming pool, bar and grill, playground, dogs, and general vibe, this place is a one of a kind getaway- more of an experience really. We loved it. And it's minutes away from the Current river where we set up for a few hours to have some river fun.
It's truly a family place- we met other campers/lodgers who had already been there several times, which i absolutely understand! This is a place you keep coming back to because Roger and Lela make it feel like home. We can't wait to come back!!!!
