It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night. The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead. There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. Established in 1870 as a mixed farm for new immigrants to Canada to settle and begin their new life in Canada. In the early days the farm housed dairy cattle and pigs. Had pastures for cattle to graze and grew corn and wheat for cattle feed. In the 1980's the farm was rented by the University of Guelph to house their goat research livestock. Our family purchased the farm in 1998 to raise our daughters. The farm is located beside Trish's home farm, where she was a dairy farmers daughter growing up. Dean was raised on a beef farm. Dean & Trish meet in University studying agriculture. We began a beef business, and marketed our farm products through our website, www.whisperingmeadows.ca until we sold it to a young couple in 2016. Dean & I care about the land and the environment very much. Over the years we have have worked with the local conservation organization to plant treed wind erosion areas, improve farm drainage and grow crops using no-till practices. In 2010 we were awarded the Pasture Conservation Award by the Canadian Cattlemen Association. We take great pride in our farm and ensure it is managed using the best farm practices available. We grow a roation of corn, soybeans and winter wheat for food production. Ideal for a quiet getaway or short-term stay. High-speed fiber wi-fi is included allowing you to work away from the office.

We had an amazing stay at Carl’s place! The location is peaceful and beautifully maintained – it felt like having the whole forest to ourselves. The fall colors around the pond were absolutely stunning, and paddling there was pure calm. Everything was spotless, the hookups (including water) worked perfectly, and there was plenty of firewood ready for us. It’s a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy nature – we’d be happy to come back again!

What a way to end the camping season! We were fortunate enough to experience Spring, Summer and Fall on Carl & Marsha's gorgeous property! We also got to share it with our eldest son and grandkids and just finished another weekend with our youngest! Getting to watch the little animal family grow was an extra treat too! Baby sheep from last year are no longer babies, the babies from the spring have grown so much. Every trip was an amazing, much needed escape from "real life" and every season brought different views. SO many memories were made on this property this year and we are beyond grateful. Carl & Marsha are truly two of the kindest, most genuine, helpful people and we are so happy that we have managed to meet them and spend so much time on their property!! Weekend Trip to Three Ponds Homestead

We had an amazing time here. Wendi is super friendly and thoughtful, she checked what we needed and reminded us about the cold. The horse experience was the best part. Grooming them felt so calming and the horses are beautiful and very friendly. The firewood amount is really generous and lasts a long time. The campsite is spacious with lots of privacy. At night it was perfect for stargazing, I saw so many stars and even a few shooting stars. The toilet is very clean and everything here feels well cared for. I also admire how much Wendi and her family have built in just a few years, they are really living my dream life. Overall this was way better than camping in a provincial park. Highly recommend and I will definitely come back.
