Come enjoy the peaceful tranquility of our rustic little Shack on the 113 acre farm of rolling hills + open fields set by the edge of the forest. Previously used as the hot chocolate shack for our tree farm business which has finished after a 30 year run. The Shack is completely "OFF GRID" and you can get a feel for staying amongst the sounds of nature and possibly find yourself shutting off your phone and really enjoying the quiet peaceful escape. Sitting by a bon-fire at night, with the stars bright in the dark sky. Enjoying a good book or a walk on the property looking out for Wild Turkey's, Coyotes, Raccoons, Ground hogs and a variety of Bird's. Take an evening walk to the top of the hill to catch a beautiful farm sunset over the corn fields. Local businesses nearby are Brooks Farm Playground and Market 2 min up the road. Rose Family Farm with fresh cut fries 4 min away. Musselman's Lake is a 6 min drive to enjoy the fabulous Fishbone on the Lake, casual outdoor dining. Nearby restaurants in Ballantrae. In the quaint little town of Mt. Albert 5 min with an LCBO in it open till 8pm daily. Ballantrae Ultramar 6 min away also has an LCBO open till 11 pm daily. Uxbridge is nearby and a large variety of restaurants and shopping
Lots to check out in the area, or simply stay put at The Shack and enjoy cooking a meal on the BBQ in the outdoor kitchen area (propane included) and relaxing by the bonfire (wood included). The Shack is equipped with some cooking items, pots + pans, BBQ and utensils, knives, cutlery, plates, coffee cups, bowls, glasses + (wine glasses) cutting board, tray, kettle and a small chest cooler to keep your food and drinks cold (you will need to bring the ice) Dish washing rack is provided, as well as large jugs of clean potable water for cooking/drinking and doing the dishes. Please bring your garbage bags! Extra cooler is also provided.
The Shack sleeps 3 people comfortably, with 2 bunks and 1 single size sofa-bed. Pillows and Bedding ARE NOT included. Plenty of room to set up additional tents for the additional per person nightly rate if more than 3 people. **2 Outhouses on premises. **Bonfire wood is provided - Large chunks - split your own - Axe is provided. Your campsite is high and dry, easy to access by car and has ample parking.
The terrain is pink granite with soft spots for a tent or solid ground to park your trailer (sorry no hook ups or liquid waste removal). There's a picnic table, firewood and private toilet included. Whether you prefer to be in sun or shade, both are available at this site. As much as we are sheltered from the County road, traffic can be heard at times.

Jump on your favourite floatie and float your troubles away down the lazy river located just a short walk across the road at Kawartha Highlands Signature Park. Three Pines Retreat is surrounded by lakes and trails and is only 3 km from the picturesque town of Buckhorn. Forget something or feel like dining out? Buckhorn hosts an LCBO, grocery stores and restaurants overlooking the locks. Pizza Alloro will lure you in for a delectable slice and Main St. Bar and Grill offers delicious fare and live entertainment. If you know anything about Kawartha Dairy ice cream you will be sure to stop at Buckhorn Ice Cream Parlour for a tasty treat.

Our pretty cabins are perfect for folks to enjoy some glamping in the country, on the farm surrounded by friendly animals. You can arrange to have a tour of the farm and hang out with donkeys, mini horses, llamas, alpacas, pigs, bunnies, sheep, goats, peacocks, ducks and chickens. We have a lovely pond, and acres of forest you can explore. Our farm is on a quiet country road where you can take a walk and enjoy the peace and quiet and connect with nature and one another without the distractions of wifi, street noises or city lights. We are within minutes of the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park with all there is to see and do there, such as hiking, paddling, exploring, swimming. We have a fire pit where you can enjoy a spectacular night sky unimpeded by any other lights. The cabin has electricity, lights, electric fireplace for heat. In the cabin we have a double bed, a table and 2 chairs, a two-burner stove with oven, a washing up station. Fall asleep listening to owls call and wolves howling in the distance. Wake to the sounds of the animals on the farm, you may even be able to arrange to gather your own eggs for breakfast!
We are confident you won't want to leave the farm, but in case you choose to explore beyond our 98 acres there is lots to still see and do within only a short drive.
We are located close to Buckhorn, where you can explore more lakes, pick your own berries or visit pumpkin patches, pick up groceries or enjoy the restaurants in Buckhorn. Also, in nearby Bobcaygeon you can find world-class shopping and dining, parks, beaches, festivals, a heritage village, and even more lakes.
One hour north of us is Haliburton, with the Haliburton Forest and Wolf visitation Centre, Sir Sam's ski resort, shops and restaurants, and Sir Sandford Fleming's college of Fine Arts.
Lakefield is only 35 minutes away offering shopping, a world famous literary festival, fine dining, and antique shows most weekends.
Trent University is only 40 minutes south, in Peterborough where you can watch Peterborough Petes play hockey, attend free music festivals in the summer months, experience the best restaurants around, shop, see a movie, watch the boats in the Lift Locks, a World Heritage, visit the canoe museum, skate on the canal, and much more.

The Stonefield Gazebos has 3 luxurious units on a beautiful 100 + acre piece of heaven. Our original Lakeside Gazebo is steps from our private lake with its own dock. The White Oaks Gazebo is in our old white oak forest and The Cedars is in our Cedar forest beside a stream and river.
Each of these 3 luxurious units are not in close proximity to each other. We designed it this way in order to give our guests the utmost privacy. Each gazebo has its own chic and private outhouse with shower area.
All gazebos have beautiful beds with comfy and ultra soft bedding. They are equip with everything you should need from plates, cutlery, BBQ utensils, tea kettle, coffee french press, wine glasses, cups etc. There is a propane BBQ with a side burner ready to cook your meals.
There is a dock where you will find the canoes, a kayak, paddles and life jackets. If you paddle out to the middle of the lake you will find a raft with 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella on it. Bring some drinks and snacks, because once there, you will not want to leave. Our curious loons will no doubt swim up close to say hello. Enjoy!!
PLEASE NOTE: This retreat does not have electricity. However, a small, silent portable power station is available in each accommodation for guests who wish to charge their phones, laptops and small electrical devices.
***This property is an animal-free zone due to SEVERE allergies. Please don't ask if you can bring your dog, cat etc, or try to sneak them in. This applies to service animals as well unfortunately. Just because different terms are used to describe the same thing, a dog is a dog etc, whether it is your pet or a service animal. Although we do sympathize with people who require service animals, my severe allergies do not know the difference and I do not want to die. Our property is exempt from domestic animals entering the grounds, we ask that you please respect this.
We also have deer and other creatures that live around the gazebos. The scent of a dog or other animal would scare them off, fundamentally changing the nature of the experience and impacting it for other guests.
This is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with nature and yourselves, disconnect from the grid and stresses of everyday life. It's a pretty special place and a one of a kind experience.
Historical Significance of the property
When we first saw the property we were awestruck by its beauty and allure. We were captured by the natural springs, river and stream. It wasn't until after the deal closed that we found out that we also had a lake. What an incredible surprise and gift. It also wasn't until much later that we learned about the historical significance of this special place.
It turns out that our property is part of the Percy Portage, which was an important route used for centuries by the Hurons, Iroquois and Mississaugas. It also formed the basis of the first road in the region in the early 19th century for settlers an those heading north. Samuel de Champlain used this portage in September 1615 when he travelled south with his Huron and Algonquin allies on their way to upstate New York. In the 1970's, a group of students from Trent University retraced and marked the route by adding orange metal markers to some of the trees along the way. Some of them are still present today.

If you want privacy and seclusion this is your place . Our family lives on 80 acres 8 minutes from the town of Campbellford. We are on a dead end road out in the country. Upon arrival simply turn into our driveway and drive right past our house following the dirt path. Turn left just down the hill to the River.
We are located on Bradley Bay on the Trent river with kms of lock free boating between Percy Boom and Glen Ross . We are located across from an island called Anderson island. Pike, pickeral, bass , Muskie ,channel cat ,and pan fish are in these waters.
Our point is very private with plenty of birds and wild life to watch .
We have one of our trails marked clearly threw out the woods for you to enjoy .
We have a complementary canoe, 1 adult kayak, 1 adult SUP and 1 child’s kayaks . Life jackets and boat safety kits are also available . On the point we have a small fire pit and 2 docks.
1 of the docks face the river and one is up our little lagoon . A wonderful place for adults and children alike to fish , swim , relax and catch frogs and fire flies.
We do have a few chairs and a child’s little turtle pool to swim and play in.
The point is a long narrow grassy area. There are about 3 spots you could park a trailer . We think currently the max length would be a 24 foot trailer we could accommodate until we are able to open up the area a bit more.
A small fishing boot about 14 foot and under could be launched at our water entry otherwise the closest public launch is about 5 minutes down the road .
If we plan it ahead we have water from our well from a hose available. We are happy to let you fill your trailer up with water from our house hose on the way down to the point or any jugs you may have.
Otherwise Ferris Provincial Park is about 7 minutes away. There is a water filling station and dumping station there for a small fee from the park.
Things to do In area is the well known suspension bridge located in Campbellford. Doohers bakery and the Empire Cheese Factory and Chocolate Factory all within 10 minutes from our house . We also have local Breweries in the area, one being about 8 minutes away called the Fogorig Brewing.
Campbellford is full of little shops and stores.
It’s a beautiful walk back towards our house and down the laneway to the road as well. Great quiet country road for children and adults alike to go for a bike ride or walk along the road beside farmers fields where usually deer and sandhill cranes are seen.
We usually touch base with our campers a week or so before there arrival date to give exact directions to our house via Hipcamp message.
Upon arrival if arranged ahead of time we can be here to meet and greet you and ensure you are settled in. Otherwise there isn't a guarantee we will be at the property upon arrival but we can ensure that we will always have someone by phone for you to reach if need be at all times.

Canal Lake is a lake of Ontario, Canada, situated in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
HISTORIC MONUMENTS
The "Hole in the Wall" bridge was built in 1905 and is also known as the Canal Lake Concrete Arch Bridge. It was designed by the federal Department of Railways and Canals. It is located on Centennial Park Road on the southwest side of the Trent Severn Waterway bridge, northeast of Bolsover. The bridge was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1988.
FISHING
Canal Lake is a medium size lake with a large diversity of fishing spots. There is a variety of fish available including largemouth bass, pike and muskellunge (muskie) and an abundance of panfish.

FYI: The first Urban National Park in Canada was announced in 2024, the entrance is ~1 km north east of our driveway. Whether you live one or five+ hours from us, our comfortable ten acres will allow you to relax, de-stress, and reconnect with nature. If you're new to camping and forget something, we are only a two km walk to town. A small walking trail meanders through our property and we are avid birders, having once owned a wild bird nature shop
We welcome any self contained travel trailer or RV's.
Enjoy use of horseshoe pits, open space for games (e.g. soccer, bocce, frisbee, badminton, etc.) and feel free to ask, we may have those 'toys' to loan you during your visit.

If you are looking to escape the noise of everyday life, this is the place for you! Come enjoy the peaceful tranquility of our rustic little Shack on the 113 acre farm of rolling hills + open fields set by the edge of the forest. Previously used as the hot chocolate shack for our tree farm business which has finished after a 30 year run. The Shack is completely "OFF GRID" and you can get a feel for staying amongst the sounds of nature and possibly find yourself shutting off your phone and really enjoying the quiet peaceful escape. Sitting by a bon-fire at night, with the stars bright in the dark sky. Enjoying a good book or a walk on the property looking out for Wild Turkey's, Coyotes, Raccoons, Ground hogs and a variety of Bird's. Take an evening walk to the top of the hill to catch a beautiful farm sunset over the corn fields. Local businesses nearby are Brooks Farm Playground and Market 2 min up the road. Rose Family Farm with fresh cut fries 4 min away. Musselman's Lake is a 6 min drive to enjoy the fabulous Fishbone on the Lake, casual outdoor dining. In nearby Stouffville find Timber Creek Mini Golf, Gallucci Winery, Willow Springs Winery + Tree top trekking at Bruce's Mill.
With many hiking trails in the area including Eldred King Woodlands, Vivian forest Trails, Durham Regional Forest and almost directly across the road and slightly south of our property new York Region Forest walking/hiking trails can be accessed. Nearby restaurants in Ballantrae. In the quaint little town of Mt. Albert 5 min with an LCBO in it open till 8pm daily. Ballantrae Ultramar 6 min away also has an LCBO open till 11 pm daily. Uxbridge is nearby and a large variety of restaurants and shopping
Lots to check out in the area, or simply stay put at The Shack and enjoy cooking a meal on the BBQ in the outdoor kitchen area (propane included) and relaxing by the bonfire (wood included). The Shack is equipped with some cooking items, pots + pans, BBQ and utensils, knives, cutlery, plates, coffee cups, bowls, glasses + (wine glasses) cutting board, tray, kettle and a small chest cooler to keep your food and drinks cold (you will need to bring the ice) Dish washing rack is provided, as well as large jugs of clean potable water for cooking/drinking and doing the dishes. Please bring your garbage bags! Extra cooler is also provided.
The Shack sleeps 3 people comfortably, with 2 bunks and 1 single size sofa-bed. Pillows and Bedding ARE NOT included. Plenty of room to set up additional tents for the additional per person nightly rate if more than 3 people. **2 Outhouses on premises. **Bonfire wood is provided - Large chunks - split your own - Axe is provided. Your campsite is high and dry, easy to access by car and has ample parking.
The terrain is pink granite with soft spots for a tent or solid ground to park your trailer (sorry no hook ups or liquid waste removal). There's a picnic table, firewood and private toilet included. Whether you prefer to be in sun or shade, both are available at this site. As much as we are sheltered from the County road, traffic can be heard at times.

Jump on your favourite floatie and float your troubles away down the lazy river located just a short walk across the road at Kawartha Highlands Signature Park. If kayaking and canoeing are more your thing, you will be in awe of the beautiful scenery as you paddle along. This breathtaking park also offers self-guided tours of its history and landscape.
Three Pines Retreat is surrounded by lakes and trails and is only 3 km from the picturesque town of Buckhorn. Forget something or feel like dining out? Buckhorn hosts an LCBO, grocery stores and restaurants overlooking the locks. Pizza Alloro will lure you in for a delectable slice and Main St. Bar and Grill offers delicious fare and live entertainment. If you know anything about Kawartha Dairy ice cream you will be sure to stop at Buckhorn Ice Cream Parlour for a tasty treat.
Three Pines is just a 2 minute drive to Kawartha Winery and Belly's restaurant. Our pretty cabins are perfect for folks to enjoy some glamping in the country, on the farm surrounded by friendly animals. You can arrange to have a tour of the farm and hang out with donkeys, mini horses, llamas, alpacas, pigs, bunnies, sheep, goats, peacocks, ducks and chickens. We have a lovely pond, and acres of forest you can explore. Our farm is on a quiet country road where you can take a walk and enjoy the peace and quiet and connect with nature and one another without the distractions of wifi, street noises or city lights. We are within minutes of the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park with all there is to see and do there, such as hiking, paddling, exploring, swimming. We have a fire pit where you can enjoy a spectacular night sky unimpeded by any other lights. The cabin has electricity, lights, electric fireplace for heat. In the cabin we have a double bed, a table and 2 chairs, a two-burner stove with oven, a washing up station. Fall asleep listening to owls call and wolves howling in the distance. Wake to the sounds of the animals on the farm, you may even be able to arrange to gather your own eggs for breakfast!
We are confident you won't want to leave the farm, but in case you choose to explore beyond our 98 acres there is lots to still see and do within only a short drive.
We are located close to Buckhorn, where you can explore more lakes, pick your own berries or visit pumpkin patches, pick up groceries or enjoy the restaurants in Buckhorn. Also, in nearby Bobcaygeon you can find world-class shopping and dining, parks, beaches, festivals, a heritage village, and even more lakes.
One hour north of us is Haliburton, with the Haliburton Forest and Wolf visitation Centre, Sir Sam's ski resort, shops and restaurants, and Sir Sandford Fleming's college of Fine Arts.
Lakefield is only 35 minutes away offering shopping, a world famous literary festival, fine dining, and antique shows most weekends.
Trent University is only 40 minutes south, in Peterborough where you can watch Peterborough Petes play hockey, attend free music festivals in the summer months, experience the best restaurants around, shop, see a movie, watch the boats in the Lift Locks, a World Heritage, visit the canoe museum, skate on the canal, and much more.

The Stonefield Gazebos has 3 luxurious units on a beautiful 100 + acre piece of heaven. Our original Lakeside Gazebo is steps from our private lake with its own dock. The White Oaks Gazebo is in our old white oak forest and The Cedars is in our Cedar forest beside a stream and river.
Each of these 3 luxurious units are not in close proximity to each other. We designed it this way in order to give our guests the utmost privacy. Each gazebo has its own chic and private outhouse with shower area.
All gazebos have beautiful beds with comfy and ultra soft bedding. They are equip with everything you should need from plates, cutlery, BBQ utensils, tea kettle, coffee french press, wine glasses, cups etc. There is a propane BBQ with a side burner ready to cook your meals.
There is a dock where you will find the canoes, a kayak, paddles and life jackets. If you paddle out to the middle of the lake you will find a raft with 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella on it. Bring some drinks and snacks, because once there, you will not want to leave. Our curious loons will no doubt swim up close to say hello. Enjoy!!
PLEASE NOTE: This retreat does not have electricity. However, a small, silent portable power station is available in each accommodation for guests who wish to charge their phones, laptops and small electrical devices.
***This property is an animal-free zone due to SEVERE allergies. Please don't ask if you can bring your dog, cat etc, or try to sneak them in. This applies to service animals as well unfortunately. Just because different terms are used to describe the same thing, a dog is a dog etc, whether it is your pet or a service animal. Although we do sympathize with people who require service animals, my severe allergies do not know the difference and I do not want to die. Our property is exempt from domestic animals entering the grounds, we ask that you please respect this.
We also have deer and other creatures that live around the gazebos. The scent of a dog or other animal would scare them off, fundamentally changing the nature of the experience and impacting it for other guests.
This is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with nature and yourselves, disconnect from the grid and stresses of everyday life. It's a pretty special place and a one of a kind experience.
Historical Significance of the property
When we first saw the property we were awestruck by its beauty and allure. We were captured by the natural springs, river and stream. It wasn't until after the deal closed that we found out that we also had a lake. What an incredible surprise and gift. It also wasn't until much later that we learned about the historical significance of this special place.
It turns out that our property is part of the Percy Portage, which was an important route used for centuries by the Hurons, Iroquois and Mississaugas. It also formed the basis of the first road in the region in the early 19th century for settlers an those heading north. Samuel de Champlain used this portage in September 1615 when he travelled south with his Huron and Algonquin allies on their way to upstate New York. In the 1970's, a group of students from Trent University retraced and marked the route by adding orange metal markers to some of the trees along the way. Some of them are still present today.

If you want privacy and seclusion this is your place . Our family lives on 80 acres 8 minutes from the town of Campbellford. We are on a dead end road out in the country. Upon arrival simply turn into our driveway and drive right past our house following the dirt path. Turn left just down the hill to the River.
We are located on Bradley Bay on the Trent river with kms of lock free boating between Percy Boom and Glen Ross . We are located across from an island called Anderson island. Pike, pickeral, bass , Muskie ,channel cat ,and pan fish are in these waters.
Our point is very private with plenty of birds and wild life to watch .
We have one of our trails marked clearly threw out the woods for you to enjoy .
We have a complementary canoe, 1 adult kayak, 1 adult SUP and 1 child’s kayaks . Life jackets and boat safety kits are also available . On the point we have a small fire pit and 2 docks.
1 of the docks face the river and one is up our little lagoon . A wonderful place for adults and children alike to fish , swim , relax and catch frogs and fire flies.
We do have a few chairs and a child’s little turtle pool to swim and play in.
The point is a long narrow grassy area. There are about 3 spots you could park a trailer . We think currently the max length would be a 24 foot trailer we could accommodate until we are able to open up the area a bit more.
A small fishing boot about 14 foot and under could be launched at our water entry otherwise the closest public launch is about 5 minutes down the road .
If we plan it ahead we have water from our well from a hose available. We are happy to let you fill your trailer up with water from our house hose on the way down to the point or any jugs you may have.
Otherwise Ferris Provincial Park is about 7 minutes away. There is a water filling station and dumping station there for a small fee from the park.
Things to do In area is the well known suspension bridge located in Campbellford. Doohers bakery and the Empire Cheese Factory and Chocolate Factory all within 10 minutes from our house . We also have local Breweries in the area, one being about 8 minutes away called the Fogorig Brewing.
Campbellford is full of little shops and stores.
It’s a beautiful walk back towards our house and down the laneway to the road as well. Great quiet country road for children and adults alike to go for a bike ride or walk along the road beside farmers fields where usually deer and sandhill cranes are seen.
We usually touch base with our campers a week or so before there arrival date to give exact directions to our house via Hipcamp message.
Upon arrival if arranged ahead of time we can be here to meet and greet you and ensure you are settled in. Otherwise there isn't a guarantee we will be at the property upon arrival but we can ensure that we will always have someone by phone for you to reach if need be at all times.

Canal Lake is a lake of Ontario, Canada, situated in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
HISTORIC MONUMENTS
The "Hole in the Wall" bridge was built in 1905 and is also known as the Canal Lake Concrete Arch Bridge. It was designed by the federal Department of Railways and Canals. It is located on Centennial Park Road on the southwest side of the Trent Severn Waterway bridge, northeast of Bolsover. The bridge was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1988.
FISHING
Canal Lake is a medium size lake with a large diversity of fishing spots. There is a variety of fish available including largemouth bass, pike and muskellunge (muskie) and an abundance of panfish.

A beautiful and accessible but secluded spot! Great for a relaxed car camping experience. The host was helpful and responsive. Fire pit and provided chairs/picnic tables were all in excellent condition. Bathroom also excellent and clean. 10 / 10 would camp again!

Dale's yurt-style tent was an excellent spot for us to meet up and rest for one night before our canoe trip in the Kawartha Highlands. Dale was quick to respond to my questions and went out of his way to provide wine glasses. The electric fireplace was a welcome feature on a cool night. We made breakfast at the well-supplied outdoor kitchen. The light at the outhouse was a nice touch, though it could have used some cleaning. Thanks a bunch, Dale.

1 night at Foresthill Retreat
We had a wonderful time here. The place was private, beautiful, clean and cozy. Dale was an amazing host - super responsive, flexible and a pleasure to deal with. If the outdoor shower setup and the outhouse can be fixed up a bit that would make it even more comfortable, but overall it was a great value for the price and I would 100% recommend this.

We had again an amazing experience at Sharrons. This was our second time staying here and i believe now this is going be every year. My 5 yr old loved every single moment here especially the beautiful animals. She fed them, played with them and even held a bunny. It was a dream come true for her. Wonderful setup and lovely location. Up on a hill surrounded by trees giving lots of privacy. Great clean and cozy outhouse/washroom facility. Lots of seating provided with brand new picnic tables for adults and kids. I am an avid kayaker and the Black River is just steps away. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and hope to be back again.

Another fantastic camp stay at this beautiful farm! We loved our new spot on the property just as much as the last one. From the moment we arrived, the hosts welcomed us back with open arms, making us feel right at home. The magic of this place is all thanks to the incredible hosts who treat every guest like family. We had a great time visiting with the farm animals and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of their barn. The provided firewood was a thoughtful touch that made our nights around the campfire so much easier. The amenities are excellent; the outhouse was impeccably clean, and the dishwashing station made cleanup a breeze. This is truly a special place! <3

What a magical place! The property is absolutely beautiful and exactly what we needed for a little getaway. Emma was a gem and made sure we had everything we needed! The animals were a great bonus and we loved getting to feed the goats and chickens! Will definitely come again!

We had an amazing time here. Wendi is super friendly and thoughtful, she checked what we needed and reminded us about the cold.
The horse experience was the best part. Grooming them felt so calming and the horses are beautiful and very friendly.
The firewood amount is really generous and lasts a long time. The campsite is spacious with lots of privacy. At night it was perfect for stargazing, I saw so many stars and even a few shooting stars.
The toilet is very clean and everything here feels well cared for. I also admire how much Wendi and her family have built in just a few years, they are really living my dream life.
Overall this was way better than camping in a provincial park. Highly recommend and I will definitely come back.
