Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound. We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land. There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails. Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps. It is a marsh, not a lake. Google Earth shows it better. There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :) This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave.

We purchased this farm in 1998 from the previous farmer who had owned it since 1929. The train line ran right by the gate where the Kota hut now sits and would drop cattle right there to be finished and sold later at the Toronto Stockyards. Our barn was built in 1890 with the old farmhouse located across the creek. Two creeks meet the Grand River on our farm. The bunkie is situated north of the barn and faces Willow creek. During the summer the creek gets quite shallow but there are a couple of pools that work nicely for a float with our river tubes. The river also has a small swimming hole. The bunkie is nestled between 2 hills which creates a natural little valley. Campers can take a walk around the property or use the nearby long walking trail. We are fortunate to call this ecologically diverse and extremely private piece of land home, and we are excited to welcome you here to explore the magic for yourself. Our 50 acre parcel would have comprised much of the maple bush for the original 400 acre farm property. The stone fence rows and laneways lined with large boulders are remnants from the days or horse drawn carriages, likely put in place hundreds of years ago. In addition to the maple bush there are several acres of cedar bush, open wild flower meadows, as well as fields dotted with larger shade-giving trees. A small half acre of the property is used to farm fresh cut flowers which you are welcome to visit. We also have a kitchen garden, 10 egg-laying hens, 2 very friendly outdoor cats, and our black lab Abby who will likely greet you with a bark (she is very friendly). In the summer months you can enjoy a handful of lakes for swimming and boating all within 10-15 minutes of our property. We are happy to share details and locations. Weekend Trip to Forest Cabin

The forest cabin was everything I’d hope for and more. I wanted a place to get away and reconnect with nature and that’s exactly what I got out of my stay. I went for hikes through the property, got to play with the sheep and the dogs! And like others have said in their reviews, by far the best outhouse I’ve ever soon! I would 100% recommend staying here! I’ll be back to check it out in the spring or summer!

My children and I loved our stay at Rick's place. Tha cabin and airplane are in great shape and nestled in the middle of the woods. Rick was a good host and everything was as we expected. The wood stove in the cabin kept us warm in mid November, and the airplane was big enough for two kids with winter sleeping bags. It was a memorable trip. Thanks, Rick.

Lovely little cabin. Well-insulated, and has a wood stove. Doesn't take much fire to warm the place up. The main cabin has three single-bed cots plus a single bed mattress in the loft, but know there is very little headroom up there. Probably more suitable for a child. There's a table and four chairs. The plane has room for an adult or a couple of kids to set up sleeping bags. Very quiet. Didn't hear a thing aside from the wind in the trees. Just what I wanted for a Hallowe'en camping weekend. The outhouse is clean and as nice as an outhouse can be. Watch out for the dogs on the way in. They're friendly cuties, but don't seem car-smart, so drive extra slowly.

We loved Gillian and Jim’s property. Our stay could not have been better. Their hospitality and kindness went above and beyond. Their attention to the little things made all the difference. They aim to please by exceeding all expectations, more than any other host we have experienced. The three of us were very comfy and had lots of fun after dark by the fire and inside playing games. We got lucky with clear skies and sun. The stars were out and the sun in the morning was glorious. We only had time for one night but it felt like so much more. We will certainly be booking again and highly recommend to anyone looking to connect with Nature and relax.

Firstly, Rick was the best host. Informative, responsive but left us to our own devices. My partner and I were looking for somewhere functional and secluded and this property hit all the marks. We stayed there with our 3 large dogs and were able to explore trails onsite that were easily accessible and intuitive. There's also a great clearing in the marsh where we were able to catch some shooting stars! The first night we stayed in the smaller cabin, which was a dreamy little slice of rustic bliss. Second night we stayed at the unique plane crash site - overall has more space and access to the plane worked as a perfect refuge to shelter from the elements, while conveniently placed steps away from the warmth of our campfire. Clearly both sites are treated with care, clean and filled No doubt, will be back.

2 nights at Forest Cabin

Everdale is a special place! The straw cabin is simple, comfortable and so quiet! I felt safe as a person going there solo and walked their well loved and cared for land extensively. It was an education as well in that they have a regenerative farm. Being a long time gardener myself, it was interesting to read the sign posts on my walk explaining different aspects of regenerative farming and the lands ecology. I'll definitely come back and in the colder months, be sure you're comfortable keeping the woodstove going, you may need to split wood, etc. Also, being solar powered, if it's a cloudy day, the lights may go off early. I was glad I brought a battery operated lamp. Great place, great feeling there.!

I had such a wonderful time glamping here! The place was beautiful, comfortable, and surrounded by nature — a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Their friendly approach really made the stay feel extra special! I loved the friendly chickens roaming around, adding a cute countryside touch. Very nice little cabin, is part of a larger property, but still plenty of privacy. Mornings are very cold around late September, recommend to bring a blanket if you’re here around this time of year. I had cell reception and was ~15 minute drive to a mall near by. The fire pit was wonderful. Would recommend.
