We purchased this farm in 1998 from the previous farmer who had owned it since 1929. The train line ran right by the gate where the Kota hut now sits and would drop cattle right there to be finished and sold later at the Toronto Stockyards. Our barn was built in 1890 with the old farmhouse located across the creek. Two creeks meet the Grand River on our farm. The bunkie is situated north of the barn and faces Willow creek. During the summer the creek gets quite shallow but there are a couple of pools that work nicely for a float with our river tubes. The river also has a small swimming hole. The bunkie is nestled between 2 hills which creates a natural little valley. Campers can take a walk around the property or use the nearby long walking trail. New this spring, campers will be able to enjoy the firewood sauna, located close to the bunkie and nestled in a private spot near the creek.

There are four acres of woods to explore right beside Townsend Lake, a small, quiet lake perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.

Rose Family Farm with fresh cut fries 4 min away. Musselman's Lake is a 6 min drive to enjoy the fabulous Fishbone on the Lake, casual outdoor dining. There are four acres of woods to explore right beside Townsend Lake, a small, quiet lake perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The lake warms up quickly in the spring and is great to swim in. There is a cabin to sleep in and many camping items are provided, like a Coleman stove, tables, dishes, and a screen shelter.

Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound.
We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land.
There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails.

This was an amazing stay. First, it was extremely last minute as we booked it 15 minutes before showing up. Despite that, Joan was very accommodating and set us up right away. It was a nice basement unit with everything we needed included heated floors in the bathroom. The property itself was also beautiful - though we didn’t see a lot of since it was winter. Excellent stay for a romantic getaway. If you think a wood burning sauna big enough for 4, a shower big enough for a table and bench, and a hot tub just outside your door makes for a perfect getaway, this is your place. The fridge was big enough for a three night stay, unlimited firewood, and all the oils, lotions and scents one could ask for. Truly a great place to be with the one you love, and your dogo. Could there have been a table inside for us nerds to puzzle on? Sure. But the floor works too. Would go back.

We went during winter so didn’t get to fully enjoy the outdoors but site is really private and place next to it is definitely a nice touch. The cabin is a little small but it’s new and built nicely. Washroom was clean and built nice aswell

The perfect place to stay for a remote escape. The sky out here will make you want to come back for more! The Amish built cabin is perfectly insulated, and even in -15 windy weather I was warm and cozy thanks to the wood burning camping stove. Rick is a great host! Highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Forest Cabin
The forest cabin was everything I’d hope for and more. I wanted a place to get away and reconnect with nature and that’s exactly what I got out of my stay. I went for hikes through the property, got to play with the sheep and the dogs! And like others have said in their reviews, by far the best outhouse I’ve ever soon! I would 100% recommend staying here! I’ll be back to check it out in the spring or summer!

We planned on staying in the plane one night and the cabin the next, but the plane was so cozy we stayed in it both nights.
The property is gorgeous and private. We spent the day wandering through the woods, and night by the fire. Exceptionally well taken care of property was exactly what we were looking for for a weekend getaway.

My children and I loved our stay at Rick's place. Tha cabin and airplane are in great shape and nestled in the middle of the woods. Rick was a good host and everything was as we expected. The wood stove in the cabin kept us warm in mid November, and the airplane was big enough for two kids with winter sleeping bags. It was a memorable trip. Thanks, Rick.

Weekend Trip to Heavens Acres
Lovely little cabin. Well-insulated, and has a wood stove. Doesn't take much fire to warm the place up. The main cabin has three single-bed cots plus a single bed mattress in the loft, but know there is very little headroom up there. Probably more suitable for a child. There's a table and four chairs.
The plane has room for an adult or a couple of kids to set up sleeping bags.
Very quiet. Didn't hear a thing aside from the wind in the trees. Just what I wanted for a Hallowe'en camping weekend. The outhouse is clean and as nice as an outhouse can be.
Watch out for the dogs on the way in. They're friendly cuties, but don't seem car-smart, so drive extra slowly.

Weekend Trip to White Pines Cabin Retreat
We loved Gillian and Jim’s property. Our stay could not have been better. Their hospitality and kindness went above and beyond. Their attention to the little things made all the difference. They aim to please by exceeding all expectations, more than any other host we have experienced. The three of us were very comfy and had lots of fun after dark by the fire and inside playing games. We got lucky with clear skies and sun. The stars were out and the sun in the morning was glorious. We only had time for one night but it felt like so much more. We will certainly be booking again and highly recommend to anyone looking to connect with Nature and relax.

Firstly, Rick was the best host. Informative, responsive but left us to our own devices. My partner and I were looking for somewhere functional and secluded and this property hit all the marks.
We stayed there with our 3 large dogs and were able to explore trails onsite that were easily accessible and intuitive. There's also a great clearing in the marsh where we were able to catch some shooting stars!
The first night we stayed in the smaller cabin, which was a dreamy little slice of rustic bliss. Second night we stayed at the unique plane crash site - overall has more space and access to the plane worked as a perfect refuge to shelter from the elements, while conveniently placed steps away from the warmth of our campfire.
Clearly both sites are treated with care, clean and filled
No doubt, will be back.

From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found a truly special place. Lisa's cabin isn't just a rental; it's a magical escape that feels instantly like home, only better. Everything about our stay exceeded expectations, and we can't recommend it—or Lisa as a host—highly enough.
The entire property is meticulously maintained and offers such a sense of peace.
Special mention: the amazing, clean pond. It was a sparkling centerpiece to the landscape! Whether we were enjoying our morning coffee by its edge or watching the sunset reflect off the water, it created the most tranquil atmosphere. 2 nights at Forest Cabin
Everdale is a special place! The straw cabin is simple, comfortable and so quiet! I felt safe as a person going there solo and walked their well loved and cared for land extensively. It was an education as well in that they have a regenerative farm. Being a long time gardener myself, it was interesting to read the sign posts on my walk explaining different aspects of regenerative farming and the lands ecology. I'll definitely come back and in the colder months, be sure you're comfortable keeping the woodstove going, you may need to split wood, etc. Also, being solar powered, if it's a cloudy day, the lights may go off early. I was glad I brought a battery operated lamp. Great place, great feeling there.!
