Our remote off grid property in the forest east of Eagle Lake is a great place to disconnect and decompress. The roadside Bunkie sleeps 2 comfortably and can accommodate a RV trailer or tent as well. Pets are welcome.  The property has a pit toilet, and campfires are allowed in the designated pit. There is also potable water in the bin with an outdoor kitchen and BBQ area. In the winter water would have to be stored inside. Linen not provided. You’ll wake up surrounded by trees and can explore the great hiking, nature viewing, atv trails and boating in the summer months. In the winter enjoy glaming in the propane heated bunkie, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snow machine trails at the door. Wildlife is all around.  Several lakes and parks are nearby, including Mikisew Provincial Park on Eagle Lake, about 20 km south, where you can go boating, paddling, or swimming and Algonquin Provincial Park is close as well with many lakes and hiking trails. The Chickadee Cabin is totally off-grid. No electricity. No indoor running water. No internet. The cabin is an on-going project however it's nicely equipped for a comfortable and relaxing stay for adventure seekers and peace/quiet loving enthusiasts that don't mind roughing it just a little. The cabin has x3 propane lights for lighting (x2 in the kitchen area, x1 in the downstairs bedroom). I also have an assortment of quality led rechargeable lamps for lighting the upstairs bedroom. There is a full solar system planned for spring/summer 2026 but in the meantime, I also have a collection of battery operated devices that make the cabin feel almost as good as having electricity. I have a Bluetti ac70 power station that can power and charge any low-draw (ipads, cellphones, portable dvd players, ac lamps, Nintendo switch etc), device for a lengthy amount of time. The cabin also has an am/fm radio that gets several clear stations. There is a 16" portable dvd player with a decent collection of classic movies. The cabin is heated with a woodstove and I provide all the firewood for heating inside (I kindly ask guests to bring their own bagged firewood if they intend on using the outdoor firepit. Bagged firewood is sold at any of the local general stores). For cooking there is a propane stove with x4 top burners and an oven. The kitchen is stocked with the usual fare (utensils, pots/pans, plates/bowls etc). Thete is no fridge yet (coming with solar system), but I provide a cooler for keeping food cold (it is currently winter and it is easier to keep for cold right now as frozen items can be kept outside etc). There is an outdoor outhouse for a toilet as well. The cabin is located at the back of a roughly 300 foot laneway. Access in the winter is via snowshoeing (I have many pairs of snowshoes to lend guests), and/or simply walking in (a hard packed trail is not long to form and snowshoes are often not needed). I also have a toboggan to lend guests for hauling in their gear. A parking space is provided for guests at the beginning of the laneway, off the road. The hike in takes only a couple minutes and anyone of reasonable fitness will have no trouble making the short trip in. ***This is a general summary but please ask any questions you may have***

The public beach also is equipped with handy amenities like bathrooms, change rooms, fishing docks, and extra parking.  Eagle Lake is approximately 3 hours from Toronto, just over 4 hours from Ottawa, and less than an hour to Huntsville. It is very close to Algonquin Park.

Marten River Escapes offers six waterfront campsites with 30 amp hydro service and three non waterfront campsites, one with 30 amp and two with 50 amp service. A couple are seasonal sites, most are transient sites. All have access to potable water faucets. A shared comfort station with flush toilets and showers with hot on demand water is centrally located. There is no sewer connections but we do have a honey wagon and guests can access dumping into our onsite septic tank. We also have one rustic glamping cabin in the campground area and a new 14 unit building under construction on the southeast portion of the property. There is an on site restaurant offering dine-in, patio seating, and take out service. (seasonally operated - hours vary depending on the season) In addition to the amenities available on the campsite you will also have access to enjoy the common shared areas of the property. Our property boasts 1000' of waterfront surrounded by crown land. We have a new shared dock with Muskoka chairs and a (typical Northern Ontario) swimming area in our semi-secluded bay. We recommend water shoes for those who go swimming and to bring a fishing rod (and fishing license) if you want to give that sport a go. A sunshade pergola was just added to the main dock area with several other seating areas scattered around the property providing relaxing water views and spectacular sunsets, all available for your enjoyment. There is a large open area to enjoy a game of frisbee or other lawn games. We also have a few water toys. A canoe, a kayak, a peddle boat and two small (fishing type) motor boats are available for a small rental FEE. You must have a valid boaters license in order to be able to rent the motor boat. All water equipment renters must sign a renters agreement prior to use. Due to sizing and proper fit, for safety we do recommend guests bring their own life jackets/pfd's but we do have some that can be used. We have a private boat launch and for a small extra fee you can reserve a dedicated boat slip space during your stay for your own personal watercraft. Boats or other water toy equipment are NOT to be left on the shore. A few local public boat launches into different lakes are also nearby. For those powersports enthusiasts (ATV's, SXS etc.) there are 100's of km's of crown land trails accessible from our property. We do NOT rent ATV's. There is space to park ONE passenger vehicle along with your rv/trailer or tents on each campsite. VERY large trucks will limit the usable lawn space available on the site. Extra passenger vehicles and/or equipment trailers must park in overflow parking.

The Chickadee Cabin is totally off-grid. No electricity. No indoor running water. No internet. The cabin is an on-going project however it's nicely equipped for a comfortable and relaxing stay for adventure seekers and peace/quiet loving enthusiasts that don't mind roughing it just a little. The cabin has x3 propane lights for lighting (x2 in the kitchen area, x1 in the downstairs bedroom). I also have an assortment of quality led rechargeable lamps for lighting the upstairs bedroom. There is a full solar system planned for spring/summer 2026 but in the meantime, I also have a collection of battery operated devices that make the cabin feel almost as good as having electricity. I have a Bluetti ac70 power station that can power and charge any low-draw (ipads, cellphones, portable dvd players, ac lamps, Nintendo switch etc), device for a lengthy amount of time. The cabin also has an am/fm radio that gets several clear stations. There is a 16" portable dvd player with a decent collection of classic movies. The cabin is heated with a woodstove and I provide all the firewood for heating inside (I kindly ask guests to bring their own bagged firewood if they intend on using the outdoor firepit. Bagged firewood is sold at any of the local general stores). For cooking there is a propane stove with x4 top burners and an oven. The kitchen is stocked with the usual fare (utensils, pots/pans, plates/bowls etc). Thete is no fridge yet (coming with solar system), but I provide a cooler for keeping food cold (it is currently winter and it is easier to keep for cold right now as frozen items can be kept outside etc). There is an outdoor outhouse for a toilet as well. The cabin is located at the back of a roughly 300 foot laneway. Access in the winter is via snowshoeing (I have many pairs of snowshoes to lend guests), and/or simply walking in (a hard packed trail is not long to form and snowshoes are often not needed). I also have a toboggan to lend guests for hauling in their gear. A parking space is provided for guests at the beginning of the laneway, off the road. The hike in takes only a couple minutes and anyone of reasonable fitness will have no trouble making the short trip in. ***This is a general summary but please ask any questions you may have***

Marten River Escapes offers six waterfront campsites with 30 amp hydro service and three non waterfront campsites, one with 30 amp and two with 50 amp service. A couple are seasonal sites, most are transient sites. All have access to potable water faucets. A shared comfort station with flush toilets and showers with hot on demand water is centrally located. There is no sewer connections but we do have a honey wagon and guests can access dumping into our onsite septic tank. We also have one rustic glamping cabin in the campground area and a new 14 unit building under construction on the southeast portion of the property. There is an on site restaurant offering dine-in, patio seating, and take out service. (seasonally operated - hours vary depending on the season) In addition to the amenities available on the campsite you will also have access to enjoy the common shared areas of the property. Our property boasts 1000' of waterfront surrounded by crown land. We have a new shared dock with Muskoka chairs and a (typical Northern Ontario) swimming area in our semi-secluded bay. We recommend water shoes for those who go swimming and to bring a fishing rod (and fishing license) if you want to give that sport a go. A sunshade pergola was just added to the main dock area with several other seating areas scattered around the property providing relaxing water views and spectacular sunsets, all available for your enjoyment. There is a large open area to enjoy a game of frisbee or other lawn games. We also have a few water toys. A canoe, a kayak, a peddle boat and two small (fishing type) motor boats are available for a small rental FEE. You must have a valid boaters license in order to be able to rent the motor boat. All water equipment renters must sign a renters agreement prior to use. Due to sizing and proper fit, for safety we do recommend guests bring their own life jackets/pfd's but we do have some that can be used. We have a private boat launch and for a small extra fee you can reserve a dedicated boat slip space during your stay for your own personal watercraft. Boats or other water toy equipment are NOT to be left on the shore. A few local public boat launches into different lakes are also nearby. For those powersports enthusiasts (ATV's, SXS etc.) there are 100's of km's of crown land trails accessible from our property. We do NOT rent ATV's. There is space to park ONE passenger vehicle along with your rv/trailer or tents on each campsite. VERY large trucks will limit the usable lawn space available on the site. Extra passenger vehicles and/or equipment trailers must park in overflow parking.

The Mitziville team was incredibly welcoming and accommodating — thanks to them, I was able to organize a surprise birthday celebration for my husband and bring together our big group of friends. We were absolutely thrilled with our spot: a spacious area with several fire pits, a provided toilet, and picnic tables. It felt private and peaceful since the nearby sites were set far apart. It’s one of those rare moments when you stumble upon a hidden gem. The nature was stunning, and the grounds were beautifully maintained. We had a great time at Light House Landing! We celebrated our 6th anniversary at the cabin and it was a great experience, we woke up every morning to a beautiful sunrise on the lake! Jim, Alyssa and Fran have created such a welcoming environment and were great hosts (like texting to tell us turtles were hatching on the beach one morning or showing us how to feed the chickadees). Compared to most campground sites this is a nice private spot. The quiet river makes a beautiful view and I appreciated the free kayak available with the site. Check in was easy and friendly. There is a public area beside the site which meant there are occasionally people near by but it wasn’t a problem. At other times it was very quiet.

( kayaks, paddle boats included) There is also nice trails for hiking. Shower on site. About 30 min away from Huntsville.. Definitely recommend and we'll be back.

We had a fantastic long weekend at Brennan's Hill Camping. The place is so beautiful and well-maintained. You can see the attention to detail and to offering of a good experience in each part of the campground. The sites are sufficiently private and have a good size. The bathrooms are very, very clean, and the shower works perfectly. Kim is an amazing host and a wonderful person. Communication is great. She was patient and understanding when we arrived later than expected for our check-in. She lent us extra sleeping bags when we were too cold the first night because we were underprepared for the temperature, and she shared her energy and laughter whenever we visited the office. The campsite is so quiet and beautiful that we ended up staying there most of the time, rather than following our initial plan to go hiking every day. The day we left the site to explore, we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful lakes near the campground. We had the opportunity to take a look at the cabins, and they are comfortable and well-designed! We were sad to leave - and we will definitely be back!

This "Cozy Cabin" sleeps 4 in beds comfortably, however someone may sleep on the couch or pitch tents on the property or by the water. Located on a 1 acre property on Magnetawan River in Dunchurch, Ontario this little piece of heaven is a separate area in front of our cottage and should be used as a "glamping experience" on water. We love to host people for time away in the fresh forest country air. Many enjoy their time here hiking, fishing or just hanging out reading a book, playing some games or relaxing. You are more than welcome to use our canoe and kayaks, just be sure to wear life jackets, your safety is a priority to us. Dunchurch is well known for its amazing trails such as the Wild Cat ATV Trail only 10 mins from the front door of the Cabin. We are happy to allow you to use the area at your leisure however, please note you must have your own ATV’s and insurance for riding recreational/motorized vehicles, we do not provide coverage for this. If you are considering guides for ATV Trail riding, please let us know. We are happy to make separate bookings for this on weekdays or even weekends. There is an Outhouse just steps from the Cozy Cabin front door to be used for your bathroom needs (just note there is no running water in either the Outhouse or the Cabin). There is a wash station beside the Outhouse for cleaning up, washing dishes or meal prep. Loads of private parking for vehicle(s), recreational toys or other. Inside the Cabin is a queen bed and twin bunks, down filled couch, toaster, coffee maker, kettle, bar size fridge and some games are included for your enjoyment. We have 4.4 acres of land on a spring fed lake. (Even though it is spring fed the water is warm for swimming.) We are located between Trout Creek and Port Loring on Hwy 522. We have 3 vintage trailers, each with a slightly different experience. Enjoy kayaking, canoeing, swimming and fishing. We also have a 4 person paddle boat. Bring water shoes if you have them. The water edge is in it's natural state. The trailers come fully equipped. You need only bring food, bedding and 1 pound propane tanks to use the small barbeque. Our property is off the electric grid. The trailers have fridges and stoves powered by propane and the lights are powered by battery recharged with solar panels. We do not at this time have running water and the toilets are clean outhouses - not stinky and disgusting. We have a couple of small docks and you can fish right from the dock. If you are a bird lover you will enjoy watching the blue heron and hearing the loons and frogs sing at night. This property often experiences spectacular sun sets. We have fire pits, books and board games.

Camp in the tiny house on a queen bed with composting toilet, and wood burning mini stove, nestled at the edge of a field surrounded by bush, and overlooking the pond. Trails throughout the property as well. Trailer conversion so you can camp in comfort. I provide a clean mattress pad for each visitor, but no bed linens or pillows. If you need a towel let me know. The Glamper is situated between two BnB’ cabins but is private with views (no one can see each other) but trails, field, and parking are shared. Owner lives on site as well. There is no A/C. Wifi is available if you walk 30 yards towards it, and depending on your carrier, there may be no cell or data service at all.
