I built this cabin to be a romantic, cozy off-grid getaway for humans , but if most of our guests are being honest, the dogs are the ones having the best time.
There’s a cozy queen bed with fresh linens and a down duvet. A covered deck with handcrafted rocking chairs for sunset views. A private fire area below for campfires and stargazing. LED lighting, a Bluetooth speaker, a Jackery battery bank, clean well water, lanterns, an outdoor shower, and a clean outhouse. I’ll even haul your gear in by ATV so you can settle in without the hassle.
And after all that work, most guests still seem to agree on the real highlight:
Watching their dogs absolutely lose their minds with happiness.
More than anything, this place has become a favourite for people who want to give their dogs the kind of freedom they rarely get anywhere else. Most of our guests tell us over and over, that their favourite part is watching their best friends make their own decisions, run the trails, sniff everything, chase chipmunks, explore the forest, and basically have the time of their lives.
Of course, the humans tend to enjoy themselves too.
The cabin sits on a west-facing cliff on our private 164-acre property. Once you arrive, you’ll have the feeling of having the whole place to yourselves. The trails, the forest, the quiet, the sunsets, it all feels wonderfully removed from the usual noise.
In summer, the forest is lush, green, and full of life. The days are warm, the trails are shaded, and evenings at the cliff often bring a breeze and a beautiful sunset. For dogs, there’s endless space to explore. For people, it’s a chance to unplug, slow down, and enjoy a kind of peace that’s getting harder to find.
You’ll have access to 10 km of private trails through forest, ridgelines, and lakeshore. Wildlife is plentiful, and depending on the season, you may spot deer, foxes, loons, and maybe even a family of bald eagles!
There’s no electricity or running water, but that’s part of the magic. This is real off-grid comfort: simple, peaceful, and thoughtfully set up so you can enjoy nature without giving up a good night’s sleep.

There is a main cabin that is set up for two people that comes with your rental.

Outside, you’ll have access to a barbecue grill and a peaceful natural setting perfect for campfires, stargazing, and slowing down. A waterless composting toilet with a handwashing station is located about 50 metres from the yurt, with soap, paper towels, and toilet paper provided.
Please note that this is a rustic, off-grid stay rather than a fully serviced cottage. Guests should come prepared much as they would for a comfortable camping trip, while enjoying the added atmosphere, shelter, and cultural richness of a traditional yurt.

We had a lovely time staying at the Lonn cabin. It was a perfect set up in the tent with a nice sofa that became a double bed for the two adults, and the two children slept upstairs in the loft. We enjoyed the picturesque campsite, which was really like a little piece of heaven, and we also enjoyed going for walks with our dog, paddle boarding, and kayaking in the lake. The waterfall that fed into the lake was magnificent! Overall, I would recommend this place very highly.

This is our 2nd year coming back to Monique’s place.
We love that spot. The water is amazing, clear and no weeds. It is a very private spot with lots of room to play and relax.
A real gem at Otter lake. The tent is very roomy and the mattress is really good.
Our dog was also happy with so
much space to run free. There is quite a bit of board games to play with as well as aquatic stuff, kayaks and so on. There is even a fan in the tent for the hot nights.

The warmth and generosity of Jennie and Jeremy and their delightful homestead made this stay all the more memorable. The wild spa with wood fired sauna and hot tub was fantastic!! I highly recommend a stay at Agape Gardens because the beauty and personal renewal it offers in a stunning setting is worth everything. A place to revisit for sure!!

2 nights at Organic Farm Camping & Bunkie
Our third visit. Das Bunkhouse remains our favorite place. Unfortunate the trails were not cleared it seemed for hiking/treking. They have such beautiful property to explore....We miss Mother Oak.
Minor bout with an ant infestation, but we bought traps and delt with it. Checked all our luggage at home and were were clear.
As usual, kitchen and bathroom area, sleep area are great and very well set up. Water, wood, paper, toilet paper provided. Lanters provided (bring your own AA batteries) Some dishes need washing from previous guests, but overall clean.
We didn't get to use the outdoor showers this year, (so much rain anyway) but they have been greatly renovated and look beautiful, nice shower heads, cedar wood. I wish we could have tried them.
We got to chat with our host Mark about heirloom chickens, new goats in the family, and previous farm critters my daughter remember over the years.
Rain did not wash away our spirits here!

Weekend Trip to Dog Friendly Cliffside Cabin
This was our first Hipcamper experience, and I honestly don’t think it could have been any better.
Mike was an incredible host from start to finish. He made sure we had everything we needed, answered every question quickly, and genuinely cared that we had a great stay. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in the experience he creates.
The property itself is absolutely beautiful. The land is incredibly well maintained, peaceful, and feels like a little hidden paradise. The cabin was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully cared for. Everything was exactly as described, if not better.
The hiking trails were another highlight. They’re well marked, easy to follow, and take you through some stunning scenery. The hike to the private lake was especially memorable. Arriving there felt like discovering a secret little oasis—quiet, idyllic, and completely worth the walk.
If you’re considering staying here, don’t hesitate. This was an absolutely perfect first Hipcamp experience, and it’s set the bar incredibly high. We’ll definitely be back.

Valerie was very helpful going is to the right location and checking up that we had got in ok. Wonderful secluded hut, everything needed was provided. Highly recommend! The kids loved it.

Weekend Trip to Agape Gardens | Nature Stays
Had a very pleasant stay at Agape Gardens. The tent is clean and nicely furnished. The sauna was relaxing and I highly recommend the delicious breakfast sandwich. It can get cold out there at night so maybe bring a sleeping bag. I'd also recommend a lamp or flashlight of some sort for the walk from the tent to the bathroom in the main house.

2 nights at Misty Meadows Eco Retreat
Beautiful land by the river. Chris and his family were the perfect hosts. We had the cabin for two nights and it was perfect. Everything in the kitchen for cooking was supplied and Chris also brought down a battery charging our cooler.
