You’ll have the entire property to yourselves. Once you step onto the trails, you won’t see other guests — just forest, snow, and quiet.
Explore 10 km of private snowshoe trails, including 5 km of groomed routes through maple forest, ridgelines, and along the lakeshore, plus 5 km of quieter, backcountry-style trails. A winter highlight is the hike straight across the frozen lake, beneath towering granite cliffs rising from the shoreline. Snowshoes are available on site.
Dogs absolutely love it here. With the entire property private, they can safely run, explore, and play off leash, following snowy trails, sniffing forest edges, and curling up by the fire at the end of the day.
The shelter includes a queen bed with fresh flannel linens and a down duvet, plus space for tents around the firepit if you’d like a group setup. Kids and pets stay free — just leave it like you found it. The covered deck has handcrafted rocking chairs for sunset views, while your private fire area below is perfect for marshmallows and stargazing.
We’re also building a new bunkhouse nearby for families and groups — part of our long-term vision for year-round outdoor education and adventure.
There’s no electricity or running water, but you’ll have LED lights, a Jackery battery bank for devices, and a Bluetooth speaker. A cooler, lanterns, jugs of clean well water, and a clean outhouse are provided. Wildlife is plentiful — deer, foxes, loons, and the occasional wolf howl in the distance.
I’ll haul your gear by ATV, so bring what you need and settle in. Come unplug, warm up, and experience the stillness of winter at The Off Grid Ark — where comfort meets true off-grid adventure.

You'll want to be comfortable with making a fire and keeping warm in the winter months! The tiny stove will keep you warm on the coldest winter days, but you have to keep it going. :) In the winter months, we'll get the stove started to warm everything before you arrive (and provide you with kindling and wood). When cleaning out the ashes in the stove (if necessary,) please use the metal pail outside and place the ash-filled pail back on the concrete blocks. Please note that there is no other heat source.

Tent Camping Sites: upon arrival, choose from car camping (close to our house) to several very private walk-in (100m-300m) spots on our 50 acres.
Yurta Stay: the 4 seasons Yurta sits in the middle of our property atop a very private elevated area. Listen to subtle sounds permeate the yurt while enjoying the comfort of an insulated wood stove heated space year round! To increase the full effect of this experience, the Yurta is accessible on foot (300m walk from the car parking). A trolley is provided to transport your personal belongings.
Our Yurta provides a 226 square foot 4 season space. It has an operable dome and 3 large windows. It is insulated with 100% wool felt and is outfitted with a wood stove. It has no vinyl nor any toxic materials.
The Yurta space includes:
- 2 custom raised beds with mattresses. These could fit 2-4 people. An extra cot is available if needed.
- a wood stove
- an outdoor fire pit
- firewood for purchase ($8 / bundle)
- table and some chairs
- an outdoor dry toilet on a platform, toilet paper, water for washing hands
- drinking water, flush toilet, and shower accessible at the main house
- parking is by the main house which is a 300m walk to the Yurta

A whisper-quiet diesel heater, mounted safely outside, keeps the cabin warm all night while you sleep surrounded by nature.
Outside, a propane deck heater makes it easy to enjoy coffee or dinner under the stars. A Cuisinart tabletop propane BBQ cooks fast and clean — perfect for winter gloves and simple meals.
You’ll have the entire property to yourselves. Once you step onto the trails, you won’t see other guests — just forest, snow, and quiet.
Explore 10 km of private snowshoe trails, including 5 km of groomed routes through maple forest, ridgelines, and along the lakeshore, plus 5 km of quieter, backcountry-style trails. A winter highlight is the hike straight across the frozen lake, beneath towering granite cliffs rising from the shoreline. Snowshoes are available on site.
Dogs absolutely love it here. With the entire property private, they can safely run, explore, and play off leash, following snowy trails, sniffing forest edges, and curling up by the fire at the end of the day.
The shelter includes a queen bed with fresh flannel linens and a down duvet, plus space for tents around the firepit if you’d like a group setup. Kids and pets stay free — just leave it like you found it. The covered deck has handcrafted rocking chairs for sunset views, while your private fire area below is perfect for marshmallows and stargazing.
We’re also building a new bunkhouse nearby for families and groups — part of our long-term vision for year-round outdoor education and adventure.
There’s no electricity or running water, but you’ll have LED lights, a Jackery battery bank for devices, and a Bluetooth speaker. A cooler, lanterns, jugs of clean well water, and a clean outhouse are provided. Wildlife is plentiful — deer, foxes, loons, and the occasional wolf howl in the distance.
I’ll haul your gear by ATV, so bring what you need and settle in. Come unplug, warm up, and experience the stillness of winter at The Off Grid Ark — where comfort meets true off-grid adventure.

When cleaning out the ashes in the stove (if necessary,) please use the metal pail outside and place the ash-filled pail back on the concrete blocks. Please note that there is no other heat source.

Yurta Stay: the 4 seasons Yurta sits in the middle of our property atop a very private elevated area. Listen to subtle sounds permeate the yurt while enjoying the comfort of an insulated wood stove heated space year round! To increase the full effect of this experience, the Yurta is accessible on foot (300m walk from the car parking). A trolley is provided to transport your personal belongings.
Our Yurta provides a 226 square foot 4 season space. It has an operable dome and 3 large windows. It is insulated with 100% wool felt and is outfitted with a wood stove. It has no vinyl nor any toxic materials.
The Yurta space includes:
- 2 custom raised beds with mattresses. These could fit 2-4 people. An extra cot is available if needed.
- a wood stove
- an outdoor fire pit
- firewood for purchase ($8 / bundle)
- table and some chairs
- an outdoor dry toilet on a platform, toilet paper, water for washing hands
- drinking water, flush toilet, and shower accessible at the main house
- parking is by the main house which is a 300m walk to the Yurta

The cabin was nice and quiet. It stayed pretty warm in the cold weather. Julia and her family were amazing. She was extremely accommodating and made sure that we had everything we needed. The breakfast was fantastic and we ended up doing the farm tour as well. It was cool to see all the animals and it was very thorough. We even got to feed some calves that were born the day before. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at The Goose and we’ll definitely be back.

The cabin is beautifully built and well-equipped. Mike's communication is excellent, he went out of his way to accommodate us, and he is a pleasure to chat to. Lisa is a wonderful host — calm, friendly, and with great communication throughout our stay. Her hospitality and attention to comfort were amazing. She kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed.
It was a bit cold during our visit since there’s no electricity in the caravan, but Lisa made sure we had enough warmers to stay cozy. The propane stove worked perfectly, and the kitchen was well-equipped for making coffee and tea.
We probably chose the wrong season — early fall or summer would be ideal — but the cold was still manageable for us. Overall, it was a peaceful and memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mike's cabin. It has beautiful backdrop of rolling hills as far as you can see. Well equipped deck for cooking your own meal and enjoy it surrounded by nature.
Cabin is warm and comfy, bed is great and rocking chairs on the patio are great for relaxing.

Weekend Trip to Meech Creek Falls
Neil has a great place 30 minutes away from Gatineau! U get plenty of privacy on his property. We've enjoyed the sound of the water crrek at night. There is a wood heater inside the tent so the temperature was not too cold in mid october. There is a grocery store 5 min from the camp.... Very convinient. Would recommend!

My family and I stayed in one of the bell tents at Agape Gardens. It was super clean and very well decorated. It was so inviting and cosy. Jennie smudged the tent prior to us arriving which is such an honour to have done. Jennie and her beautiful family welcomed us with a tour of the property, which we found to be extremely well looked after. From the brimming gardens, healthy live stock, well established hiking trail, to the multiple options of sites to camp at, we were very impressed. We felt at home immediately and wished we could’ve stayed longer. We also met her neighbours who were also very friendly people and jumped to help us fix some toys we had with us.
We will most definitely visit this special place again.

Weekend Trip to the Goose - Jamink Farm
We had a wonderful time, the camp was lovingly maintained. They had everything we needed from plates to silverware and cooking utensils to pans. There was a lot of local wildlife that wandered through including a hunting marmot. It was an amazing time away from it all and cannot recommend it enough

We had an absolutely lovely, relaxing time at Mike's cabin this weekend. The cabin is the perfect blend of rustic and cozy, with many thoughtful little amenities that made us feel at home right away and eliminated the stress of packing compared to traditional tent camping. We were lucky enough to book with fall colours in full force and were treated to stunning sunset views both nights. With enough hiking trails and wilderness to explore to your heart's content, there was plenty of opportunity to mix in some adventure. We are eagerly looking forward to coming back soon and experiencing what winter at the cabin has to offer!

Lovely spot- very relaxing, amazing view, friendly hosts. we loved the bell tent, although we were there on the first night of October, so it got a bit chilly in the evening- luckily there were extra blankets. We were only there for one night, so didn’t get a chance to try out all of the extras but definitely would book more time on a return visit.
