There is a heated full pressure shower, compost toilet and an outdoor sink and cooking station. The floor is mostly nature stepping stones, hand picked from the woods. The cabin is nestled in a moss and fern magical woods with fireflies, owls, deer, and foxes. There are wonderful activates such as fishing, kayaking (Safari Kayak) and bike trails in the local area. What an awesome trip ! Rae has a cute little set up and everything you need to have a good stay. We overpacked because we weren't sure what she'd have, but let me tell you, she actually does have everything! My only suggestion for campers coming is to maybe bring your own chairs if you like something a bit more comfy than Rae has set up, but this doesn't affect my rating or anything - just thought that others might like to know! Thanks so much, Rae! We will definitely be back and will also recommend this place to our friends.

I loved camping in the trailer with my girlfriend for the last couple of days. The short walk down to the water was amazing, and we really enjoyed being able to have campfires right beside the water. It was also very generous of them to let us use their paddleboard; we had a great time exploring the river. I would definitely recommend this camping spot!

I loved the cosy and cute camper! My daugther, my dog and I, had a great time here. We only stayed for a night (and a rainy one !) And we said to ourselves that we would really want to come back and stay longer. The place was easy to find and fits well the descriptions given. (Best to copy all important infos in phone because there was no or very low cellular reception.) The site is quiet and peaceful. Even if we see a few houses around, it seemed very private. The access to the river is so inviting and lovely. I loved the beatiful wooden crafts everywhere. A very charming place!

Weekend Trip to River Rest

We loved our time here at River Rest 🏕️ Its a beautiful site! The vintage camper looked even better in person - it was cozy, clean and comfortable. The potable water was sufficient and the dry toilet was easy and clean to use. The propane stove worked well for cooking 🍳 . There is a tiny fridge inside (not super cold) which can work for keeping food cool with cold-gel ice packs. And the river access is very private too, although its across the road, we had no issues getting down there even in the night time! Mel was super accommodating and friendly to talk to ☺️ We enjoyed paddleboarding in the river 🏄‍♀️ and also had dinner by the water at sunset 🌅 I think this place has incredible value and we definitely will carry some unforgettable memories from our stay here! ✅

We had such a great experience staying at this cottage! Leah was incredibly responsive, friendly, and accommodating throughout our stay, which made everything so easy and comfortable. The cottage itself was cozy, clean, peaceful, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We really enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and the quiet atmosphere. We would be happy to stay again!

We had a great time "glamping" in Rae's cabin. Very private, lots of space and camp fires for days. Definitely would recommend and going to try to come back in the winter to experience the wood stove.

3 nights at La Sôvageonne

We had a wonderful stay at Nathalie’s, in Jake’s Camp. I had seen a few reviews mention a lack of privacy, but that wasn’t our experience at all. There is a central field with a couple of other cabins and RVs, but the cabin itself feels very private. The windows open toward the forest, so from inside you’re surrounded by trees rather than looking out at other campers. And the stars at night were incredible. It’s a beautiful, peaceful spot and a wonderful place to unplug and enjoy the woods. We’d happily stay again.

Stayed in the cutest trailer Such a beautiful lake to explore with a private beach. The host was very quick to respond to any inquiries. The use of the paddle board was a bonus. Only downside is that transport trucks will go up and down the road (road is not as quiet as we thought) and the other guests at the other lot would walk right by or behind the trail. I'd still recommend and would book again

I came here with my two kids and we had a blast! Rae was so friendly, very kind, down to earth and accomodating. I booked last late and last minute, due to unforseen circomstances with another place. She got back to me instantly. Cabin was nice and cozy and perfect for the three of us. We had a blast exploring the forest, foraging for mushrooms, having a fire, relaxing. She has a sweet daughter, the kids played with. There is a river right across the street, and a breathtaking waterfall a 2 min drive away! There is wifi on site and a tv in the cabin. There is a zip up kitchen tent as well. Lovely cute place with great people. I made a new friend, and so did my kids. Will be back soon.

Note that the cabin itself isn’t very private, and there are windows on 3 sides (including at the bunks, and there isn’t a curtain on any of them) so it’s hard to change The google map result for the place is the correct place, just drive further into the gravel road to the very end There is a water jug for washing hands and drinking inside the cabin There is a jug to wash hands outside of the out house The stove is small and burns for around 1 hour when full fire kindling sticks work better than big logs for burning in it

My husband and I had the best time camping here! It’s such a cozy and peaceful spot. The little camper is very cute, well-equipped, and kept very clean. The dry toilet was also clean and not too far from the campsite. The private beach and river across the road are so beautiful and fun to enjoy. The fact that the campsite is pet-friendly is a huge plus as well! We would definitely recommend coming here if you’re looking to disconnect and enjoy the outdoors. The hosts are very friendly, and we will definitely be going back! 🥰

Clean and comfortable cabin and facilities. We had a lovely time, although our visit was cut short (by a chronic illness, no issues at all with the camp). Rae's directions were spot on and we had no trouble getting there. We took a drive into a nearby town, a walk down the camp road, made dinner on the bbq, watched a movie in the screen tent in the dark :) Rae was warm and welcoming, and very helpful. We're looking forward to going back for some guided hiking!

Weekend Trip to La Sôvageonne

Really nice spot, not too far from the nice scenic Lac à la Loutre. The cabin site also had space for us to set up a tent and hammock. Plenty of wood available for campfires every night and morning. Would definitely come back!
