The Stonefield Gazebos has 3 luxurious units on a beautiful 100 + acre piece of heaven. Our original Lakeside Gazebo is steps from our private lake with its own dock. The White Oaks Gazebo is in our old white oak forest and The Cedars is in our Cedar forest beside a stream and river. Each of these 3 luxurious units are not in close proximity to each other. We designed it this way in order to give our guests the utmost privacy. Each gazebo has its own chic and private outhouse with shower area. All gazebos have beautiful beds with comfy and ultra soft bedding. They are equip with everything you should need from plates, cutlery, BBQ utensils, tea kettle, coffee french press, wine glasses, cups etc. There is a propane BBQ with a side burner ready to cook your meals. There is a dock where you will find the canoes, a kayak, paddles and life jackets. If you paddle out to the middle of the lake you will find a raft with 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella on it. Bring some drinks and snacks, because once there, you will not want to leave. Our curious loons will no doubt swim up close to say hello. Enjoy!! PLEASE NOTE: This retreat does not have electricity. However, a small, silent portable power station is available in each accommodation for guests who wish to charge their phones, laptops and small electrical devices. ***This property is an animal-free zone due to SEVERE allergies. Please don't ask if you can bring your dog, cat etc, or try to sneak them in. This applies to service animals as well unfortunately. Just because different terms are used to describe the same thing, a dog is a dog etc, whether it is your pet or a service animal. Although we do sympathize with people who require service animals, my severe allergies do not know the difference and I do not want to die. Our property is exempt from domestic animals entering the grounds, we ask that you please respect this. We also have deer and other creatures that live around the gazebos. The scent of a dog or other animal would scare them off, fundamentally changing the nature of the experience and impacting it for other guests. This is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with nature and yourselves, disconnect from the grid and stresses of everyday life. It's a pretty special place and a one of a kind experience. Historical Significance of the property When we first saw the property we were awestruck by its beauty and allure. We were captured by the natural springs, river and stream. It wasn't until after the deal closed that we found out that we also had a lake. What an incredible surprise and gift. It also wasn't until much later that we learned about the historical significance of this special place. It turns out that our property is part of the Percy Portage, which was an important route used for centuries by the Hurons, Iroquois and Mississaugas. It also formed the basis of the first road in the region in the early 19th century for settlers an those heading north. Samuel de Champlain used this portage in September 1615 when he travelled south with his Huron and Algonquin allies on their way to upstate New York. In the 1970's, a group of students from Trent University retraced and marked the route by adding orange metal markers to some of the trees along the way. Some of them are still present today.

Although the cabin is insulated, and there is a small realistic looking electric heater...in the cooler months it only takes off the chill. You'll want to pack warmer clothing for the cooler nights. You'll find a lovely outdoor stone firepit with a grill to enjoy cozy campfires or to cook on. The site is provided with a picnic table/umbrella, rustic outdoor furniture, and a clean, simple outhouse, also a small outdoor kitchen and hand washing area. Propane stove and propane is provided. Inside the cabin there is a jug of water for your morning coffee. Coffee maker, mugs, plates, utensils are provided There are 4 single foam mattresses that make up a single bed, or three 4 double foldout foam mattresses to accommodate two. We are 5 minutes to the quaint town of Norwood, and minutes to Hastings Trent River's fishing adventures! We are close to all the needed amenities. Although there is some wood to use, we encourage our hipcamper to pick up 2 bags of dry wood as may be damp. For those looking for local attractions: Westben Theatre, Launch your fishing boat or kayak at Trent River Monument (9 km from site), Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge, Seymour Conservation Area (with a quarry for swimming), Dooher's Bakery, Empire Cheese, Church-Key Brewing, Fogorig Brewing and several food and restaurant establishments are available in Campbellford area. If you forgot to pack something, Giant Tiger, Dollarama, Stedman's, Sharpe's or No Frills may offer what you need. Only 13 km to Campbellford or 12 km to Havelock.

Sit by the pond, sit by the creek, sit in the waterfall, sit out at Blueberry Hill for a pleasant breeze or up on SunStar Ridge for some nightly star gazing or lay back in a hammock or on zero gravity chairs 1 Bunkie on a hill overlooking the pond and 2 private tent sites, one at Boot Hill and one in the Field of Dreams. Each site has a fire pit and a compostable toilet and there is a compostable toilet in an outhouse on the property for the bunkie. Great for canoes, kayaks, bird and wildlife watching with spectacular star gazing. This property was part of an old homestead and as such I am still finding things so please respect the caution tape. Some finds are treasures (European Grapes, Bergamot, French Roses, Asparagus, Rhubarb, Ramps, Fiddle-heads) and others not so much. I am re purposing what I can and collecting the rest for disposal as I nurture this land back to what it was meant to be, paradise. There is an outdoor shower available as well. A great place to relax in nature! The spa and sauna have a beautiful view of the trees, and the bonfire pit was perfect for cooking. They also have basic BBQ gear. Highly recommend if you want some quality downtime in the woods!

Excellent place:quiet,safe. 11 km. from Campbellford. We stayed there already second time,although we prefer do not visit same places twice. Nice place to spend few days together far from civilization. Hosts Michaelene and Paul are very helpful. At the camp you can have all necessary stuff: kitchenware, woods etc.

Amazing trip with family and dogs. Beautiful place dogs loved the freedom, definitely ticks to keep an eye out for but otherwise their paradise getaway as well as ours away from home. Everything available to our use, more than expected and peaceful and quiet. Thanks Katrina and Graham!

Weekend Trip to Cabin in the Woods

10/10 will absolutely recommend it. We had peaceful quiet time at the bunkie. Natalie had a screened gazebo next to the waterfall so it was quite serene. She also provided us extra utensils to use on the bbq.

A very cozy stay for a quick nature getaway from Toronto, the cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and was easy to find and access. Nice and warm even on a very cold night. We didn’t explore the property but it’s very close to lots and lots of hiking trails. Would stay again!

Weekend Trip to Higgins Farm in the Forest

We had a really nice two-night stay at this forest cabin on a sibling trip. Anna and family were super kind and made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin was cozy and quiet, and we really enjoyed the ambiance of the woodstove. We also spent time snowshoeing and enjoyed a fire at the outdoor fire pit, which made the stay even better. Overall, it was a relaxing getaway and a great place to unplug and enjoy nature.

5 nights at Riverbend

This was our 2nd time at Riverbend Grayotter cabin. We wanted to be in a calm, natural, grounded and magical place to Thank 2025 for the valuable lessons, leaving behind what needs to be left behind, what to carry forward and to set New intentions for 2026. No Better Place than Riverbend! Mother Nature greeted us generously offering every shade of her weather; freezing rain, a sunny morning that ended with an afternoon blizzard, snow crunched walks on trails and around the flowing river with ice formations, days with big fluffy snowflakes and outdoor fires under starry skies with a luminous moon. Maise(our dog) also enjoyed being free to roam and explore the wintery weather. Grayotter Cabin protected us from the elements and we stayed warm and cozy by the wood stove. There was plenty of fire wood and lots of snow to melt for washing dishes. Riverbend and the wonders of Mother Naure treated us to a Winter Wonderland! We would definitely come again in the winter! It was another amazing and magical adventure at Riverbend Grayotter Cabin. We got to meet Katrina and Graham which was an added bonus to our trip!

Weekend Trip to Casa de Campo

Casa de Campo was everything we were looking for and more! It had everything we needed to be comfortable and the cabin is beautifully decorated. The space is secluded and private with great tree coverage - in the fall, the leaves were gorgeous! Liz and Kevin were so thoughtful and attentive and made sure we were comfortable during our stay.
