Oh. My. Gawd. Where to start?! This is one of the original properties for the area. Owned by one lovely family since the 1700's until your current (very lucky) host. The house was the post office from 1861 to 1961. One of the rooms was the hospice for the area... SPOOOOOKY!!! There is a culvert from the 1700's on the property from where the province moved the highway sometime before the 40's. Neat! Reggie took over ownership in 2020 and is keeping things as original as possible, but adding his touch, like his battle axe travel trailer, Franny, which makes her home in the driveway. She's worth a visit! - TENT ADVANCED LEVEL LAKESIDE is by far the most beautiful; however, it is a small area, located on the edge of the property, and I can't be responsible for the neighbours to a certain extent. Fort Nova is your home for as long as you choose. Let's get campy! **KEEP IN MIND THAT THERE MAY BE OTHERS STAYING THERE** But there are multiple areas to choose from, including: the lawn, living amongst the pines, a forest clearing, or even lakeside (it's rough back there). You can have complete privacy and feel free to reach out to me at the house if you need anything. For those with RV's, there is an exterior outlet and a water spigot, but please remember, others might be staying there so we need to play nice and share! On the property, there is: - A decent-sized lake (I wish I had a canoe... :( ) - 1700's abandoned bridge - Lots of foraging (Won't be held liable if ya eat something silly!) - Rail Trail (runs through the property) So many bloody things to do nearby: - The ocean is right across the street. - Oasis Fish and Chips (Also right across the street!) - Beech Street Kitchen (in Lockeport) - Barrington (Lobster capital of the world, UFO capital of Canada) - Brooklyn (Hank Snow's hometown) - Provincial Parks - Boxing Rock Brewing Co.

The campground is located on Long Island a five minute ferry ride from the mainland. The campground is a mixture of old and new forest the sites were planned with privacy in mind. Each of the sites are different offering a variety of choices. Just 100 feet from the driveway is the trailhead for the Balancing Rock a top attraction in Nova Scotia. There is also many whale watching tours offered on the two islands. You can also go beach combing along different areas of the Island.

We are located on hwy 340 in a very quiet village , enjoy dark skies and a campfire. We have 2 Bunkies on the property both very private, both off grid. The Meadowbrook comes with 2 folding camp cots 50$ per night . The Stargazer has a comfy double futon 60$. Both have bbqs, and fire-pits. We have Plenty of level spots to pull into for the night.

Forest Shore Dome is a Geodesic Dome within the forests of Nova Scotia’s South Shore, with ocean views and the intention to create a relationship between us and nature. It is a place to leave the ‘busy’ behind. Slowing down, re-grounding, and reconnecting - heart, body and spirit. The forest & ocean, ruled by the moon and the seasons - time does not exist here, as we know it, in our normal day-to-day. You set the pace here. With the intention of having all your senses awakened while falling in sync with the pulse of the nature around you, minimalist luxury is the caveat. You will have the best of everything you need, and nothing of what you do not. We designed the dome to be a hemisphere that offers an opportunity to experience all four elements - earth, wind, fire and water - within the sacred geometry of the its' structure. Loading the wood burning fireplace while the vintage claw foot tub fills with hot water may become your ritual. Whilst the wind moves through the trees, and the waves reach the shore, becomes your meditation. The ocean is only a short walk down a winding forest path, and is often best enjoyed with a hot coffee or loose leaf tea. Every item, from the organic Egyptian cotton and Flax linen bedding on the king size bed, to the organic wild harvested body/bath products and local fresh roasted coffee, has been intentionally chosen for their love of people and planet. Weekend Trip to FORT NOVA

We arrived at sunset to Reginald’s farmhouse. Yard was mainly flat and easy to navigate. Sunset was beautiful, and we didn’t know when we booked that it was so close to the seaside. We ate an apple from the tree which was delicious. Farmhouse is a little museum onto itself and smells slightly of damp. Bathroom has all necessities and shower was excellent. Overall a perfect peaceful spot to stay! Host was a great writer and communicated well

9 nights at FORT NOVA

For me, Fort Nova was heaven and strategically located. The peaceful setting was great. That peace was interrupted at times as I hiked down the trail to the huge beaver pond each morning with coffee in hand. The interruption was, many mornings, from either an eagle or an osprey. Located an hour from Yarmouth and an hour from Liverpool, the farm was perfectly located to explore the entire southern part of the province. And, next door was a restaurant with a view of Jordan Bay.

8 nights at FORT NOVA

Fort Nova, for me, was heaven. Perfectly situated to explore the southeast corner of Nova Scotia. Yarmouth was only hour to the east and Liverpool an hour to the north. Charming Lockport, with it expansive beach, was fifteen minutes away. The solitude and the grounds are fantastic. My morning walk along the trail, through the pines, to the expansive beaver pond was magical. A place that allows one to experience quiet and solitude...except for the screech of the bald eagle.

Reggie was very responsive and friendly. He took the time to answer any questions we had and we were welcomed to explore the property, including a really cool old stone bridge! We were able to use the restroom/hot shower in the house on the property. It was easy to park out camper van on the property. Very well priced and yummy restaurant right across the street!
