This is private land mostly fields where you should see deer grazing in the evening.
There are two sites available, ideal for vans, trailers, and RVs up to 35 feet. You can expect a pull-in level site. There is no toilet on-site. Campfires are permitted and pets are welcome.
It is a short 3 min walk to the Fisherman's wharf. About 5 min drive to the historical town of Yarmouth, NS and the Cat Ferry to Maine. John's cove beach is about a 15min drive on the way to the Yarmouth light on Cape Forchu. Yarmouth Golf club is about a 4 min drive away.

Oh. My. Gawd. Where to start?!
This is one of the original properties for the area. Owned by one lovely family since the 1700's until your current (very lucky) host. The house was the post office from 1861 to 1961. One of the rooms was the hospice for the area... SPOOOOOKY!!!
There is a culvert from the 1700's on the property from where the province moved the highway sometime before the 40's. Neat!
Reggie took over ownership in 2020 and is keeping things as original as possible, but adding his touch, like his battle axe travel trailer, Franny, which makes her home in the driveway. She's worth a visit!
- TENT ADVANCED LEVEL LAKESIDE is by far the most beautiful; however, it is a small area, located on the edge of the property, and I can't be responsible for the neighbours to a certain extent.
Fort Nova is your home for as long as you choose. Let's get campy!
**KEEP IN MIND THAT THERE MAY BE OTHERS STAYING THERE** But there are multiple areas to choose from, including: the lawn, living amongst the pines, a forest clearing, or even lakeside (it's rough back there). You can have complete privacy and feel free to reach out to me at the house if you need anything.
For those with RV's, there is an exterior outlet and a water spigot, but please remember, others might be staying there so we need to play nice and share!
On the property, there is:
- A decent-sized lake (I wish I had a canoe... :( )
- 1700's abandoned bridge
- Lots of foraging (Won't be held liable if ya eat something silly!)
- Rail Trail (runs through the property)

The nearest dump station is in West Pubnico, less than 10 minutes from here.
The sites are located right next to Argyler Lodge which has 6 guest rooms, a full-service dining room that also offers takeout (inquire about hours), and a couple of cottages.

The campground is located on Long Island a five minute ferry ride from the mainland. The campground is a mixture of old and new forest the sites were planned with privacy in mind. Each of the sites are different offering a variety of choices. Just 100 feet from the driveway is the trailhead for the Balancing Rock a top attraction in Nova Scotia. Private site for one group with up to 3 trailers. 3.5 acres with 175 ft of beautiful Bay of Fundy shoreline. Watch the 21 ft tides, beautiful sunsets, starry skies and all the wildlife the area has to offer. Dog friendly. The site is in the woods and there is your own 300m trail down to the water.
We purchased the property last year and are working on setting up the road in and parking for trailers and RVs. It will be available for rent in August. It is a beautiful spot to spend some time.

This Hipcamp was exactly what we needed and expected. A nice quiet stop for the night after arriving on the CAT ferry to explore NS for a few weeks. Make sure you checkout the old cemetery down the street for great history and great views! Sue and family were great hosts. Thanks.

Nous avons adoré notre semaine.. La nature était au rendez-vous, terrain boisé, beau grand lac, le calme total. Pour les amoureux de la nature je le recommande.
Nous avions trois familles de canards sur le terrain qui venaient au deux jours Nous avons vue des chevreuils.
Beaucoup d’activités à faire, kayak, pêche et jeux de société.
