The forest bunkie was a perfect mix between hotel and camping. AC, electricity and sophisticated security all inside a beautiful cabin with bunk beds, custom wood furniture and a mini wood stove. It smelled amazing, just like the woodsy forest that surrounded it. Also, showers, toilets and laundry super close by. Lastly and best of all, they welcomed my doggie with treats, poop bags and dishware ! I wish could have stayed longer!

We were at a tent sight at BMR and found it easy to find and a nice set up. The highway and train noises didn’t bother us, earplugs are provided but we didn’t need to use them. The bathrooms were nice and front desk was great. Loved the pantry and coffee machine. The only downside was there was mould in the shower.

Jen and her husband were so welcoming and kind enough to help us out when we were having some car trouble on our way in to their property. The farm is a perfect place to have a new experience feeding alpacas and there are many options to camp, glamp or have a more private woodsy experience if you choose. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a wonderful stay at Mara Lake! We arrived late and were warmly welcomed at the gate, which instantly put us at ease. The campground was very clean and well-appointed, and we were so grateful for the hot showers and reliable WiFi after a long day of traveling. My son was absolutely over the moon to find a group of kids to swim with and enjoy the playground, it made the experience extra special for him. The atmosphere was family-friendly, safe, and fun, and we truly wished we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend this campsite for anyone passing through or looking for a great place to relax with family!

Weekend Trip to Stoey’s Alpaca Farm

Jen's land is out in the country, a half hour from the two closest towns. We set up our tent then went into Salmon Arm for the evening. It was a fun farm experience getting to feed the alpacas and wander with the chickens. She has three curious and friendly dogs who have access to your tenting area, and will hang out with you throughout your time. Although it was a peaceful time, it isn't a silent place as there is a cacophony of farm animal sounds at different times day and night. We still slept well and enjoyed the whole experience.

Weekend Trip to Herman Lake Wilderness Campground

Beautiful site and property. Calm, relaxing, peaceful, and scenic. Strongly recommend for anyone looking to get away. Host and family were absolute pleasure to deal with, which made the trip even more enjoyable. Look forward to visiting again!

The best camping near Revelstoke with campfires guide

When to go

July through early October are the best months for a Revelstoke camping adventure. Snow can linger in the mountains through June and can start again in October. The Meadows in the Sky Parkway in Mount Revelstoke National Park is usually open from June into October, although the summit area has a shorter season – generally mid-July through September. Revelstoke is busiest in July-August and during the winter, when you can ski from late November into April.

Know before you go

Keep your gas tank topped up when you’re driving through this BC region. There are no gas stations or other services on Highway 1 between Revelstoke and the town of Golden, 150 kilometres to the east on the other side of Glacier National Park.
If you’re traveling east toward Revelstoke from Vancouver, the city of Kamloops, along Highway 1, is a good place to stop for supplies, with big box stores, gear sellers, and local shops.
Revelstoke itself has several outdoor gear shops, grocery stores, and several fun cafes, where you can pick up coffee, baked goods, sandwiches, and other snacks.
