Come camp on a 40-acre parcel backing onto crown land mountains and wake up in front of 10 acres of vineyard and a view of Okanagan Lake! There is a small cabin and two camp sites to choose from. Site 1 is best suited for tents and small campervans, less than 18' or so (though people with small trailers like tear drop campers have been fine). Site 2 has a much larger flat area that can hold RVs up to 30'. Cabin available for those that want to sleep in a cozy bed and have a warm fire :) Outhouse on the property, which is just a pit toilet. It is a working farm so will likely have various equipment around at times as well as workers at certain times of the year. You’ll likely meet our very friendly and very energetic Bernedoodle, Bernie. If you prefer to keep him out of your campsite just let us know and we can keep him closer. Otherwise, he thinks he has the run of the place! Please check to see if campfires are allowed (live in a high-risk fire zone) and firewood is available with an extra charge. The combined population of Kelowna and Penticton was a mere 7,000, and the First World War was just wrapping up. A bustling new sawmill on the shore of Chute Lake had a crew of hardworking loggers thinking it was time to build themselves a place to sleep and eat. Raw materials certainly wouldn’t be an issue, located in the middle of a forest. The crews worked all day turning trees into logs. Soon enough those logs were being hauled from the mill and up a gentle slope to the proposed location of the new bunkhouse. A few years later, the Kettle Valley Railway would arrive, and the mill and freshly built bunkhouse would take on additional roles. It served as a water stop for the steam engines that pulled the passing trains. Enterprising mill workers would even sell some of the large fish they pulled from the lake to the dining carts. These were the formative years Chute Lake Lodge. Cabins have been added and in the 1980s, the central lodge building nearly doubled in size. The restaurant was added with lodge rooms above. The railway that ran directly in front was converted into one of the best cycling paths in the province.

Weekend Trip to Back Forty Vineyards

This is a special spot! So peaceful, and the perfect getaway. The kitchen was perfectly stocked, amazing coffee and a nice tea selection, and the snacks were such a treat!! The bed was quite comfortable, and we thoroughly appreciated the variety of pillows as we’ve got different firmness preferences. Early morning walks with the pup around the property while the sun rose was bliss :) We cannot wait to return!

Weekend Trip to Charming Creekside Caravan

My wife, 12 year old son and I stayed at Creekside Caravan for a night on our way between Vancouver and the Kootenays. It was absolutely wonderful and would definitely recommend staying here. Mike was an awesome host, communication wise responsive and very easy to work with. Upon our arrival Mike greeted us, showed us around, made sure we had everything and then left us to our own. The caravan is very nicely designed and super comfy. You could tell how much thought and effort went into all the little details that make it so warm and inviting. We had everything we needed to cook some eggs, make coffee, etc. We had a chance to enjoy the fire pit, feed some chickens and slept amazing with the running water of the creek nearby. While we were there we thought to ourselves we could have just planned our whole vacation here and not just a one night stop ;) There is always next time!

“Absolutely loved our stay at Basecamp Caravan! Liana welcomed us warmly when we arrived at night, and the cozy camper spot by the creek was peaceful and scenic. Morning chats with Liana and Mike over breakfast were such a joy. We adored Indee and Marvin (the sweetest dogs), meeting the hens, and seeing Mike’s classic Range Rover restoration. We’d happily come back to enjoy the peaceful setting and great company all over again. It’s the kind of place where you slow down, breathe, and truly enjoy the moment.

Weekend Trip to Azhen Sanctuary

Great little spot to have a rest and recoup. The sauna and cold plunge are fantastic, tiny homes are fully stocked with all the comforts of home. We used it as a couple days stop off on a camping road trip and it was perfect. There was some construction as they are still setting up the facility. When they have completed the construction and are fully done I would seriously consider staying here for a couple weeks, working remotely to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Side note: the cats and dogs that live on the property are adorable and so friendly!!

This is the perfect campsite! The caravan is bright and cozy, with everything you need - a bathroom and shower, oven, fridge, cooking supplies, and more. The property isn't far from town, but it feels really peaceful and secluded. The creek is right there, so you get the sound of the water, and you can take a chair down to the water or enjoy the view from the wooden platform. The hosts were super nice and accommodating, and I definitely recommend staying here!
