Wild Coast has 2 nightly campsites for you to enjoy. Site one is a large, flat open gravel base. And Site 2 is a large, flat grass based site. Please note you must have your own trailer or tent.
We’re a 5-10 minute drive to Rathtrevor beach/Parksville, Englishman River. We are right in the middle of an extensive trail network perfect for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding.
Both sites have plenty of space for RVs and trailers - we can accommodate vehicles up to 45ft in length. 30 amp Electrical and potable water hookups are available on both sites. WI-FI onsite as well. There is a flush toilet and sink available in our farm store that is available for guest use. No shower yet, but we are working on it!
The property is private yet close to all amenities. Local favorite Rocking Horse Pub is a quick walk next door and a must-stop for dinner and drinks!
Centrally located on Vancouver Island, it’s a perfect spot to set up the rig and day trip out to Rathtrevor, Little Qualicum, Parksville, Coombs, Port Alberni valley and Nanaimo, or go for an overnighter in Victoria, Tofino, Mount Washington and the Comox Valley.
Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban and we have dry firewood for sale onsite. If you would like firewood send us a message before you arrive.
Pets are welcome, but please be responsible for them. There is a large open grass field for you to let them run and burn off that energy.

The Gertie Bus is located a 5 min walk to a beautiful white sand beach (at low tide). There are walking trails all around and lots of beach access. Tucked into the front of our property in the quiet of Gabriola island you’ll find the converted Gertie bus with all the amenities you need.
The bus has a gas stovetop/oven, bar fridge and sink with grey water system. Equipped kitchen and sofa area to hang out.
The standard queen bed is great for sleeping in and relaxing with that second cup of coffee.
Mountain biking, hiking, swimming and whale watching are just steps away.

We have a dachshund on the property that is friendly and old ( barks at strangers but is all bark I assure you, he just wants to be friends)

Walkable distance is a pizza and ice-cream parlour. There are plenty of walking trails accessible from the acreage.
One beach is accessible within walking distance (45 min ish) but the return is uphill! Other beaches are in cycling distance if you want to avoid driving.
Nature is in abundance here. Ocean, lakes, forests and mountains, all within a short distance on the island. Hi, my name is Dave. My family and I would like to welcome you to Nile Point, a secluded campsite located on 20 acres of privately owned, oceanfront property on Nelson Island, BC. I consider it the closest thing to paradise.
The first you'll need to know about this property is that it's only accessible by boat. This is what makes the campsite so secluded and peaceful.
Transportation to and from the island is included with your stay. The stunning 15 minute boat ride to and from Nile Point is one of the many things that makes this a truly unique experience.
The second thing you'll need to know is that we offer TWO SITES on the property,
a 10x16 TENT PLATFORM and a OCEANFRONT CANVAS TENT WITH ENSUITE (NEW!) with king size bed, in-tent ensuite bathroom and fully stocked outdoor kitchen with potable water, bar fridge and BBQ
We have one canoe, one one-person kayak, a two-person kayak, and some paddleboards. Bring your own water exploring devices if you wish. Our beach is rocky (it ain't a sandy beach!), so bring your good water/rock shoes!
This is a great place to stay and explore if you love the wild. It's off the grid, so if you want to unplug from devices and do nothing but relax or play in the ocean and explore the forest, it's perfect. That said, there is cell reception should you need it and a solar charger if you need to charge your devices.
Egmont offers a pub, a fancy restaurant, and a charming convenience store with wi-fi. We can take you in to town during your stay for an additional charge of 50$ per direction.
We've secured exclusive moorage at a private dock in Egmont. This is where you will park. This private parking includes secure gated access, closer proximity to our accommodations, and stunning waterfront surroundings

The meadow is a 1/2 acre fully-fenced, flat forest dell. There is a water spigot and an electrical outlet. It can host up to 3 tents. It is tent camping only - no vehicles allowed in the meadow.
West Saanich Road can be a bit loud at night in the summer. If you have sensitive hearing, we encourage earplugs and/or camping at the farthest west end of the meadow.
{2. Car Camping}
The Cedar Grove is a private camp site with room for a regular vehicle (not an RV) and a tent. It is our only spot where you may camp next to your vehicle.
{3. The Barn Loft Guest Suite}
The Barn Loft Guest Suite is a beautiful restored hay loft with a double bed, a pull-out sofa, a kitchenette, and a living room and dining area. It is equipped with a composting toilet. Those staying at the Loft can also use the shared farm washroom.
{Shared Washroom}
The washroom is the shared washroom inside the farmhouse on the ground/basement floor, with a flush toilet and luxury shower. It is a short walk from the camping meadow, inside the heritage farmhouse. Please note that while inside the farmhouse basement, only the washroom is available for public use. Entering other areas of the basement is prohibited, as these are private living spaces.
{Farm Fun}
We have five horses, a tiny pony, chickens, a few goats and a flock of sheep. You are welcome to respectfully meet the animals with us - it is not permitted to meet the animals without a guide. DM us if you want to say hi to the animals and we will arrange a time. Please understand, there are safety protocols that need to be followed around horses.
Eggs and lamb meat are also available for sale. DM us to order.

Welcome to our secluded little farm paradise. We are located on the west side of the W̱SÁNEĆ Peninsula on the main drive, West Saanich Road. Close to the beaches Coles Bay and Patricia Bay and a 12-minute drive to Sidney and the village of Brentwood Bay.
We have 3 accommodations offerings here on HipCamp:
(1) Tent camping in the fenced forest meadow
(2) Car camping at selected sites around the farm
(3) The Barn Loft private guest suite
{1. The Camping Meadow}
The meadow is a 1/2 acre fully-fenced, flat forest dell. There is a water spigot and an electrical outlet. It can host up to 3 tents. It is tent camping only - no vehicles allowed in the meadow.
West Saanich Road can be a bit loud at night in the summer. If you have sensitive hearing, we encourage earplugs and/or camping at the farthest west end of the meadow.
{2. Car Camping}
The Cedar Grove is a private camp site with room for a regular vehicle (not an RV) and a tent. It is our only spot where you may camp next to your vehicle.
{3. The Barn Loft Guest Suite}
The Barn Loft Guest Suite is a beautiful restored hay loft with a double bed, a pull-out sofa, a kitchenette, and a living room and dining area. It is equipped with a composting toilet. Those staying at the Loft can also use the shared farm washroom.
{Shared Washroom}
The washroom is the shared washroom inside the farmhouse on the ground/basement floor, with a flush toilet and luxury shower. It is a short walk from the camping meadow, inside the heritage farmhouse. Please note that while inside the farmhouse basement, only the washroom is available for public use. Entering other areas of the basement is prohibited, as these are private living spaces.
{Farm Fun}
We have five horses, a tiny pony, chickens, a few goats and a flock of sheep. You are welcome to respectfully meet the animals with us - it is not permitted to meet the animals without a guide. DM us if you want to say hi to the animals and we will arrange a time. Please understand, there are safety protocols that need to be followed around horses.
Eggs and lamb meat are also available for sale. DM us to order.

Quiet, getaway with the view of stars each night. Open fire pits and cosy log burner in the tent for the cooler nights. The beds were super comfortable with high grade thread sheets. It was a wonderful experience and we would do it again.

Such as great spot! We had very much space to park thé RV. Accualy we did not hear a thing, just thé sound of nature. The house of Lisa was about 400 meters away and everthing was taken Care for: water and electricity.

This site was just what we needed for a bit of a break before catching the Nanaimo ferry (30 min away).
Cory and Trish were very quick to respond to any questions, including the whereabouts of a local dog friendly beach. The bathroom for the camp sites was beyond expectations. And of course, The Rocking Horse Pub just down the road is really such a perc.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Whalebone Guest House with another couple and our dog. The tiny house was spotless, cozy, and well equipped — with a comfortable bed, handy kitchen, and thoughtful touches throughout. Even with four of us, it felt welcoming and never cramped.
The property itself is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by gardens and just a short walk to Whalebone Beach. We enjoyed quiet mornings by the ocean, easy island exploring during the day, and relaxing evenings back at the house. Our dog was happy and comfortable too, which made the trip even better.
Our host was warm and accommodating, making sure we felt right at home while giving us plenty of space to relax. This was the perfect getaway spot, and we would happily return again.

The place was nice and clean, the stay was very pleasant. However, the Fox Den was the only tent without an electric light (all the other tents did have a light). So, if you need light inside the tent book one of the other tents.

The site is huge! Nice and flat, potable water and power hook-ups. Trash, compost and recycling at the site. Flush toilet and sink very close to site. Hosts are very friendly and relaxed, ensuring guests enjoy their stay while allowing privacy. The site and bathroom was very clean. The field for our dog to run off-leash was a wonderful treat and Teddy had a blast! The area is quiet with beautiful star gazing at night. Lots to see and do, great hiking and swim spots close by. We enjoyed our stay very much! Absolutely recommend !

The best pets off leash camping near Nanaimo guide
When to go
The busiest season in Nanaimo and across Vancouver Island is late May through mid-October, particularly during the sunny summer months of July and August and on Canadian holiday long weekends. With a temperate rainforest climate, this coastal region receives very little snow, but you should prepare for rain and chilly temperatures between November and April. While spring can still be rainy, it’s also relatively quiet with flowers in bloom March through May.
Know before you go
- BC Ferries can take you to Nanaimo from Horseshoe Bay, just outside of Vancouver,. Pedestrians and cyclists can walk onto the ferries, but if you’re taking your car, make a reservation in advance, particularly between late May and mid-October.
- Many of the campgrounds close to Nanaimo are designed for RVs, with full-service sites catering to big rigs. Tent campers may prefer the provincial parks or more secluded Gulf Island camping areas.
- Cafes and pubs cluster along the narrow streets of Nanaimo’s historic downtown. Larger groceries and big-box stores line the highways sprawling out from the center.
