Bimbimbi is located at the free flowing, clear beginning of the Murray River, at Tintaldra. We have 5 separate sites. Each site is for a single group, so you know you will only have yourselves in close proximity. Each site has access to the river, although The Fishing Hole, River Red Gums and The Big Bend have better access than The Willows and The Old Pump Hole. Swimming, fishing for Murray Cod, hiking along the river bank (we have 3km of frontage), bird watching, relaxing are typical things to do here. Or, if you are more adventurous, borrow our canoes and do a down river trip, or go for a longer hike up Pine Mountain in the Pine Mountain National Park. Or, bring your mountain or road bikes and do some cycling on the picturesque roads and trails. The campsites are well spaced out, with a minimum of 200 metres between the nearest two locations. In fact, it either impossible or very difficult to see anyone else at the other camp sites from your own camp site. Each camp site is accessible via its own track, so you won't have other vehicles driving past your camp site. We have a Leave No Trace policy, please take all rubbish with you. (This also means not throwing bottles, cans, bottle tops, aluminium foil and other non-biodegradable items into the camp fire.) Dogs are allowed, but please keep them under control, particularly if near cattle. Campfires are allowed only in braziers provided, when fire bans are not in place. You can gather your own firewood or purchase firewood from us (see "Extras"). Please arrive before dark if you haven't been here before. It is difficult to understand a new camp site in the dark. We provide a toilet at each location, for your convenience and the cleanliness of the camp site in general. Nothing but your human deposit and toilet paper in the toilet please. No disposable wipes, nappies etc. Please put these in your trash. Also, bring your drone but use it only over locations that are not occupied. We have canoes to borrow, seasonal produce is available from the garden and our own beef and local lamb is also now available. And, again, wood for purchase if you don't want to gather your own. Please see "Extras" We are open from October to April.

Accessible to the Murray River at its clear, free-flowing beginning, with views of Snowy Mountains. This is our piece of paradise that we love and we are happy to share it with others.  This site sits on a flat spot on the river flats, secluded behind some big River Red Gums and a few willow trees. Access to the river is easy and there is a great swimming spot, with a gravel beach gently sloping down into the river. There is a view of Pine Mountain National Park from the site. There is a short walk to some billabongs that are home to countless pelicans, cormorants, ducks, coots, swamp hens. Wombats are active in this area. This site is clothing optional. It is secluded and remote. Feel free to wear as much or as little as you like. This site is accessible only to high clearance vehicles, such as SUVs.  4WD is not necessary, but the track is bumpy.   Caravans can get there but are not recommended. We provide a drop toilet and a brazier for fires. Wood is readily available for you to collect yourself, or you can purchase wood from us (see Extras). The site is fenced off from the cattle when there are no campers and it is mowed regularly.

The Fishing Hole

This is our most remote site and accessed by 4WD only, except in the middle of summer when it is possible to get there in high clearance 2WD. It's peaceful, private, and offered for one group at a time. The site is flat, with easy access to the river for swimming - a big gravel beach gently sloping into the water. It is fenced off from cattle when there are no campers and is mowed regularly. The fishing here is very good (as it is across all the property), for Murray Cod and the protected Trout Cod. Caravans are not recommended as the track is tight in places. We provide a drop toilet and a brazier for fires. Firewood is plentiful. You can collect it yourself or you can purchase some from us. This site is clothing optional. It is unlikely that you will even see anyone else (except us occasionally), so feel free to wear as much or as little as you like.

The Big Bend

The Murray River at its clear, free-flowing beginning, with views of Snowy Mountains. This is our piece of paradise that we love and we are happy to share it with others.  The Big Bend is on a big sweeping bend in the river. It is flat and wide. The panoramic picture of our farm shows this site beside the river in the distance, if you would like a visual of the site and the open space surrounding it. We set up the Big Bend for our own use. It has great shade from the fast growing trees we planted 10 years ago and easy access to the river - for fishing, swimming, launching boats. It is our preferred swimming spot for our children who are 8 and 6. The site is fenced off from the cattle with a temporary electric fence, to ensure you have a clean camp site. The grass is mowed regularly. There is a built in BBQ. This site is one of the easiest to get to with caravans or RVs. After several naturist campers with very positive experiences, we also now recommend this site for your clothing optional camping trip.

The Old Pump Hole

A levelled off site sitting above the river, with great views over the river and the river flats and to the Australian Alps to the East. The river here is a great spot for fishing for Murray Cod and Trout Cod. You might also see a platypus. Because of its location, this is also our "winter camp" site. It will be open all year round, while all our other sites are closed from May to September. It is a lovely spot to sit by the fire, watch the river go past, enjoy the scenery and just relax. For swimming it is a short walk to our favorite swimming spot at the Big Bend. Or, for the more adventurous, jump in here and float down to the next bend, or beyond. . . . At present there is no shade here. We have planted shade trees throughout the site to be able to provide shade all day. We provide a brazier for fires and a drop toilet. You can collect your own firewood for free, or you can purchase firewood from us - see Extras. The site has the capacity for 3-4 caravans, or 6 tents, so there is no problem with cars or extra people.

The Willows

Close to the river bank under the shade of some massive willow trees. Pitch you tent on the grassy area on either Eastern (for afternoon shade) or Western (for morning shade) side of these willows. The bank here is high and access to the river for swimming is not very good. For swimming we recommend walking back upstream to The Big Bend or downstream to River Red Gums, where there are gravel beaches and easy access to the river. Fishing from the bank here is good. You have several hundred metres of accessible river that is proven to hold Murray and Trout Cod, as well as the ubiquitous carp. This site is also clothing optional. You might see a passing car in the distance - campers going to some of the other spots - but you will rarely see anyone walking along the river and you won't see any of the other camp sites.

Bimbimbi Eco-glamping & Experiences

The glamping site is bookable for a single group of up to 10 guests, so you'll only have yourselves in close proximity. Tailored for non-campers who want a true nature experience, it provides comfy beds in bell tents that are all on grass and by the river set up around a lounge tent and a fire brazier that also serves as a BBQ. Each tent can sleep 2, in either a king bed or 2 single beds configuration, and prices are considering that you will be sharing a tent. So, the base price is for 1 or 2 adults sharing a tent; additional price per person considers that you will be sharing 2-person tents. A family tent of up to 4 guests is a possible option too. The glamping site is on the Murray River at its clear, free-flowing beginning, with views of surrounding hills. The site overlooks the river and is a short walk from a pebble bank; perfect for fishing, swimming or landing with a canoe. Photos show a mix of different campsites on the property which can be misleading; there is no shady tree on the glamping site, which is perfect for warmer mornings at mid-season. The site is fenced off from the cattle with a temporary electric fence, to ensure you have a clean grassy space.

The Big Bend
Bimbimbi river bend is a wonderfully secluded spot on the river. Camping amongst the popler trees gave us a wonderful place to have picnics with the kids. The river flows deep enough for an adult to float with a beer down stream. While the sheltered shallows are great for kids to play in the mud with an abundance of skipping rocks Ian and his family are very welcoming with free access to and from the farm with town close by and markets on the weekends with lots of family fun. Cant wait to stay again and bring some friends as well

The Big Bend
Ian’s camping spots The Big Bend is very large, right on the river side, the grass's area was cut and green with plenty of trees for shade, with a toilet supplied, very nice fire pit and fire wood can be supplied at a cost. We had an amazing and relaxing time Ian was attentive and was always available when we needed him Can’t wait till next time to go back with all the family Thanks Ian

Another beautiful stay at Ian and Olga’s property. It is 5 years now since we found their sites on hip camp. The site is right on the river and picture perfect. Lots of birds to listen and watch and the cows are lovely to watch. Grass is kept short and pretty flat making tent set up easy. Fire and fire wood provided and a toilet is set up. Fishing, swimming, reading and daydreaming…perfect place to do some recharging and enjoy nature.

We loved being basically at water level with our caravan. Ian is a terrific host meeting us and taking us to site and setting up the compost toilet, advising of firewood collection before leaving us to the tranquillity of his property. The flowing Murray River is so peaceful

We had such an amazing stay. Ian was such a great host and made us feel very welcome. The property is immaculate and equipped with everything you need including an abundance of fish to catch. Highly recommend adding some of the fresh meat on offer too. Looking forward to coming back.

I actually want to give Ian a bad review, as this place needs to be kept secret. But how could I, the site was immaculate, his welcome so relaxed, and he even helped cut some wood for the fire pit with me. We loved this place, what an amazing weekend, we will be coming back, often!!! A perfect place to relax in nature as nature meant us to be :)

Fantastic, such a beautiful place with amazing scenery. The hosts were lovely and made a cold wet stay much more comfortable helping out with extra wood and checking in on us. Their dog Zoe is beautiful with a lovely nature. This place would-be amazing in summer utilising the river that runs through the property and look forward to coming back

This was a great campsite up on a hill with a great view over the river. Definitely no access to the river without a bit of a walk to another campsite, but this suited us. Hosts were so great, helped us out when we had a car seat to clean 🥲 very friendly, and we had a wonderful camping trip here

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Bimbimbi and can’t recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived, Ian, our host, made us feel right at home. He was welcoming, helpful, and clearly puts a lot of care into making the site a peaceful, well-kept retreat. He made us feel welcome as soon as we met at his farm stay. Fantastic. We stayed 2 nights and wish we had more to stay and enjoy. Large camp site, clean longdrop, quiet and away from other campers. Very happy to recommend this to anybody. From the camp host to his happy dog no complaints at all.

The Willows
We spent almost a week at the Willows and could have gladly spent even longer here! While you can spot the other campsites in the distance, you are very much in your own private space. We are used to ocean swimming and were pleasantly surprised with how clear the river was and spent time swimming even with the Autumn chill. Ian is a great host! Made sure we had enough wood around for the fire and was happy to answer any questions we had. We are already planning to visit again with friends!

Peaceful river side spot with ample room and good views. The river was great to swim in and we caught carp and trout easily off the banks. Nice grassed area, and the fire pit was perfect too. Ian was an exceptional host for our large group of families.

Gem of a camp spot. Great communication and directions with Ian. Understanding with our delays in travel due to wet. River access and fishing accessible close to camp. Nice and clear. Dog was in heaven in and out of the water (The big bend). Private so we could relax and give our extra large dog a bit of freedom. Ian was helpful with the fishing (tasty cheese, deep pockets, heavy sinker for murray cod) and kayak tips. Just ran out of time. Offering to lend a kayak as we had only one. Did the Tintaldra bridge back to camp a scenic 1hr paddle. Shade of the Poplar trees (autumn leaves changing) were wonderful, table a bonus, great fire pit stand with grill n plates to cook on. Tintaldra pub Thursday dinner was nice pizza, schnitzel or parmi. Toilet pit available clean, good option. Had our own though, dump and water fill, fuel and get rid of rubbish Corryong easy access off Donaldson St. We loved it perfect for us. Stars were amazing lit up the whole Sky. Great wood purchased (hard wood), good coals for cooking and long burning. Thank you for sharing your patch. Definitely be back one day.

We absolutely loved this spot! Beautiful large camp site overlooking the water. My 5 year old and husband both caught cod which was a highlight 😊 the toilet was well maintained and the water was lovely to cool off in! We will absolutely be back one day!

Very much enjoyed our trip to big bend. Has great scenery and is a very nice property to relax by the river. Views to the snowy’s in the background. Lots of stars to look at in the night sky and bird life to wake up to in the morning. Ian and Olga were lovely hosts. Great place to make a base camp to explore the wider area!

The Fishing Hole
How’s the serenity! Stayed at The Fishing Hole and the fish were jumping (pity I left my rod on the toolbox at home). The sites are spread so far apart you really struggle to see other campers. The Fishing Hole has a large pebbled riverfront area with a small “kiddy pool” that flows over larger stones to create a spa for the adults. It’s a very, very large site with mown grass and fire pit with plenty of kindling on the ground. Composting loo is great. Pete (doggo) loves swimming and was living his best life while I kipped in the sun. Ian (host) was awesome. Thank you so much for the offer of canoeing and he’ll also tell you exactly where to fish. Access to The Fishing Hole is as described on the page; if you haven’t got a high clearance vehicle/van think about choosing another site. Would I recommend Bimbimbi to my best friends and workmates? Absolutely!

I stayed at Bimbimbi for two nights as part of a little solo getaway, and it was everything I needed and more. As a female camper, I felt completely at ease here. The campsite sits on a beautiful family-owned farm, with plenty of space, privacy, and you’re welcomed onto land that’s been loved and cared for. Listening to the river everyday was something else... The view of the mountains and sunsets so stunning. Ian also brought me canoeing on the Murray River with his daughter and that was truly so lovely. Can’t wait to return!
