Elouera Vale is a working farm located just outside Mittagong NSW. We breed and train camels for sale, especially into the Southern Highlands. Camels are excellent for weed control and co-grazing with cattle. 'Elouera Vale' also breeds Belted Galloway cattle, Dorper and Wiltipol sheep and donkeys. Our property covers over 140 acres, 80 acres cleared and pasture improved and the rest consisting of forest. The Chain O Ponds creek runs through the property and makes for a lovely walk. You will probably get to see kangaroo, wallaby, wombats, echidnas, koalas and lots of bird life. The lush green hills abound with walking and cycling trails. You can head to the spectacular Nattai Gorge via the Box Vale Mine walking track, an easy 4.4km circular walk that follows an old railway line through a tunnel to breath-taking views. Enjoy a picnic in the magnificent Lake Alexandra Reserve or hike up extinct volcanic peak Mount Gibraltar. The closest shops are approximately a 15 minute drive to the Mittagong Town Centre where you will find all the shops, cafes and restaurants for your needs. It is well worth a visit to ‘The Shaggy Cow’ cafe, one of our favourite foodie spots (don’t forget to mention Elouera Vale). While you're here please try the Cool Climate wines. The region’s rich soil and high altitude are ideal for cool-climate wine growing. Visit cellar doors in the hills and valleys around Mittagong, including Centennial Vineyards. Enjoy a pleasant wine tasting experience at Centennial (don’t forget to mention us). The Camel Cottage offers a luxe off-the-grid escape for couples just one hour from Sydney but feels like "miles from anywhere". The Gums Cottage is a fully contained, off-grid modern getaway, surrounded by the magnificent white gum trees that are its namesake. The serene setting and stylish interior of The Gums provides all the essentials for a picturesque and peaceful country escape. The White Gum Forest Retreat offers campsites nestled in a white gum forest, not far from a beautiful trickling creek. We have 245 acres with an area of bushland and other lovely areas with scattered trees, plus some open areas. Currently we have a choice of camping areas for caravans and tents, some nestled in amongst the tree line. Other areas alongside the dam. We keep all the camping areas slashed for safety and to allow easier access to find a suitable camping spot. We also have a hut available in the bush area. This hut is secluded and has its own outdoor private toilet. There is no shower, electricity or fresh water available, however we do have a flush toilet at the camping and caravan site. Campers would need to be self-sufficient otherwise. Please note we don't allow motorbikes, Quads or firearms on the property and there are no exceptions, sorry. We run sheep on our property and have wildlife such as kangaroos, wombats and echidnas. We also have farm animals such as cows, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, geese, and dogs. We have 8 dams, 3 of which have fish as well as yabbies throughout the year. Fire pits located in designated areas and only to used during non fire ban periods and to be supervised at all times. We're happy for you to bring your dog however you would be required to keep it under your control or on a leash and away from the sheep. No motor bikes, quads, firearms permitted and no exceptions. No diving off jetty Supervise children at all times. Water, dams, firepits, bushwalking and all areas can be dangerous. Caution, dams may be dangerous, and water is deep. Do not enter paddocks with cows and horses. Beware of snakes. Eudora Farm provides our guests with a unique opportunity to enjoy a multitude of activities, including but not limited to swimming ,fishing, boating, camping, camp fires, bush-walking and other farm related activities. We really enjoyed our stay. The surrounding bushland was peaceful and beautiful. Friendly farm animals. The accommodation is simple but has everything you need, and the hosts are good communicators. House warmed up very quickly with the fire. Very nice sauna however the pond not accessible by the wharf as broken but you could get in from the side if you wanted. You can expect a few creepy crawlies given the setting. Thanks again!

It's a beautiful place and worth the drive. Be sure to pack food that you can cook or put in the fridge or heat. There's 2 patches of road towards the end that are a bit rough but nothing my tiny MG couldn't handle. It's a great place. Lots of other things to do as well like pool, billiard, table tennis. Shared bathroom area is very very close and very convenient. Plenty of water. The help there is a pure gentleman and happy to help off times as well. It was a great trip overall.

2 nights at Lyrebirds Nest

Lyrebird was the perfect retreat for us to recover from a stressful year. A quiet and tranquil space where we could relax with our dogs and watch the birdlife on the deck, wander through the olive grove and say hello to the horses and goats, or potter down to the lily pond where the sauna was located. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful; creating the perfect the first Hipcamp experience for us all, including some treats for us to feed the horses who were so friendly. The cottage contains all you need, and is full of light and birdsong. We appreciated having a hot shower and absolutely loved the deck. Did not want to leave and wished we had booked a third night. I have not slept so soundly in a long time. We used a portable dog fence to secure our dogs on the deck while we transported items to and from the cottage, and had long leads for walks so they could have some space without bothering livestock or wildlife. There were a lot of kangaroos when we went for a walk up the road, plus birdlife and cattle.

We didn’t end up getting to stay at the cabin as we couldn’t get into the drive way. Would definitely recommend taking a four wheel drive if you are going after rain. Annabelle was lovely and did everything she could to help but it just didn’t work out. So would definitely recommend Annabelle as she was friendly, kind and helpful.

We absolutely loved our weekend away to the cabin! It was extremely cold, but the fire pit and the indoor fireplace definitely helped. It’s a lovely location, beautiful night sky, and you feel completely isolated. We had a few issues with our car and the hosts were extremely helpful, Even coming to tow us out of trouble! Very friendly people and extremely helpful. I recommend this stay to anyone looking for a little escape, Just be prepared to collect a lot of firewood if you come during winter 😁
