Our 300-acre off-grid property backs onto the Barmah National Park. This forest, together with the adjoining Millewa forest, forms the largest River Red Gum forest in the world - it's majestic to explore. Our property is just 500 meters from the Murray River. From your camp, roughly a 1 kilometre walk through the forest. On our boundary is Backwater Creek, which fills with water when the Murray River is up.
NOTE: Creek is often dry. It has water in it after environmental flows of the Murray. This can happen several times a year and the water lasts a few months. If you have any questions about water levels please ask before booking as it might be dry when you're here.
We're located just 5kms north-east of Moama, where you can hop aboard a paddle-steamer, visit waterside wineries and soak up rich riverboat heritage.
We offer a few large, beautiful, basic bush camping sites (the best kind!) in amongst 50 acres of bushland, with 100's of meters and trees between you and other potential campers.
The rest of our property is used for cropping and sheep.
Campers must take out what you bring in.
Mobile phone service and internet is usually reliable, though with long weekends and summer school holidays the service seems to disappear! Completely. We suggest downloading (before leaving home) your Spotify faves and Maps for this area then you can't go wrong.

The site provides a great experience for nature enthusiasts and families alike. It is a unique experience for lots of reasons;
Natural birdlife experience: Relax under the flight path and observe 100’s of Ibis, at dusk and dawn. (Accompanied by flying foxes in the Summer/Spring). Campers can access an elevated platform to sit and observe habitat views of various native waterbirds in the wetlands.
Walking access (600m) to entry of Kyabram Fauna Park (Zoos Victoria). Enabling multiple visits at differing times throughout the day.

This is a very large area in an open paddock with good access for caravans and large vehicles. You may well be the only people here though there’s is room for 10 vans. There is a view of the Broken Creek which is close to the property & easily accessible by a short walk.
We’re are a 10 minute drive to Waaia with an excellent pub and the small town of Nathalia which has a supermarket, hotels, fuel, post office, bakery, gift & clothing stores & other businesses.

Our private, riverfront secluded campsites are large and clean. All 6 sites are riverfront with power and fresh water supplied. They are relatively flat, level grass/dirt areas with gum trees peppered throughout the site for shade in summer.
We can accommodate any type and size of camping vehicle and 2WDs. Park your caravan or pitch a tent and relax.
For fishing and watersport enthusiasts there is access to a boat ramp. From camp there is sloping bank access to the water, steeper in some parts.
Guests will have access to a toilet, fire drums and cut your own firewood is available.

Take care when choosing where to park and camp. Always look up and do not park or camp under overhanging branches, assess the site first. River gums can drop branches without warning. Nice camping spot. Lots of green grass which was good for our tents. Handy use of a kitchen with a BBQ and fridge, as well as hot showers. Right next to the Kyabram Fauna Park and also the local pool. Close drive to Echuca. Two friendly horses and lots of birds. Friendly/helpful hosts. Recommended!

Had another wonderful week at River Camp 1 with our pup. Second time we have stayed here in our camper. Tim is a great host, very friendly and helpful man. Great spot for fishing. Will definitely be back again 🙏

Without a doubt, the best Hipcamp we have stayed so far! We are full time travellers, 2 humans and 4 dogs! A 19’6 fully off road can, towed by an NPS truck. Upon arrival, our host Noel offered us a choice of sites and we chose Maple. A fully fenced gated site, with power and water, perfect for our dogs and our set up. It’s a huge private site. There’s a toilet and big kitchen area, a washing machine and pool, we were offered use of. Noel is a wonderful host, extremely accommodating and very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would highly recommend and will return.

We loved staying at Window to the Wetlands!
Peter and Carmel were very welcoming and the amenities far exceeded our expectations. Nice and close to the town centre, wildfire reserves and Fauna Park. Our children particularly enjoyed the company of the horses and guinea fowl.

Wowww this place had everything we needed for an incredible weekend with family and friends to celebrate my 40th birthday. We all want to go back asap! A perfect spot on the Murray, gorgeous huts for everyone, the leaders lodge was a beautiful place to rest, the kitchen was great, and Fred was incredibly lovely and welcoming.
We had around 50 people and shared the cooking and cleaning - the kitchen was well equipped to cook for crowds. There were plenty of showers and toilets which were clean and nice to use, there was air conditioning in the leaders lodge and in the 5 bedrooms and enough beds to suit everyone.
We loved being right on the water, we used the canoes from MLA, and our own paddleboards and floaties. There is a path all along the river so you can walk upstream and float back down which was a dream. There is a jetty and an easy access into the water from the bank so everyone could get in.
We put decorations, set up our sound system, brought in a performer, and booked a woollies food delivery which all worked out perfectly. I cannot overstate how much I appreciate Fred and MLA for allowing us to use their beautiful space, thank you!!

Great spot in a great town. Had a big fire pit fully stocked and BBQ available. Fully fenced so my dogs could run a muck. Wish booked more days. My favourite spot on my trip so far.

Lovely camp, with lots of space and excellent facilities. Showers, toilet and power was a real bonus. Close to town, yet very quiet and peaceful. Carmel was a great host, agree with a previous review “ Carmel has thought of everything to make the camping experience comfortable and memorable.”

Bablers Haven was a peaceful and secluded camp ground, perfect for relaxing. Jo,s communication was easy as the site would not be easy to find without good instructions. Beautiful part of the Lodden river to camp on, and Boort was a great place to visit and swim in the lake on a hot day.

This huge site is suitable for a large group. It’s far enough away from the other campsite that you can make some noise. We enjoyed feeling like we were alone. It’s very close to both Moama and Echuca so trips for supplies were easy. It is dusty bush camping though so be prepared. Kerry was a lovely and responsive host.

Great little quiet spot. Shower and toilet are the best you’ll find. Host was responsive and communicative. Moama Beach 13 mins away by car was so good for a swim. No water in creek next to site during our stay due to the heat.

Simple camp site, plenty of space, pet friendly. Has multiple toilets scattered through the site grounds, and a hot water shower for $2. Affordable prices, easy to get to. Would definitely recommend for anyone passing through and needing a spot to crash.
