Nestled on a serene inland island framed by the Loddon River and 12 Mile Creek, our property: Riverside is a hidden gem offering a unique camping experience. Surrounded by majestic River Red Gums, tranquil billabongs, and the cheerful chatter of the resident Grey Babbler birds, this secluded slice of paradise invites you to unwind and reconnect with nature. Our working sheep farm provides a peaceful and authentic country backdrop, and with just two campsites on the property. One on the Loddon River and the second on the 12 Mile Creek. You'll enjoy exclusive access to your very own natural retreat. Whether you’re exploring the winding riverbanks or simply soaking up the tranquility, the beauty and freedom of our sites are unmatched. What We Offer: Two separate sites at different location A self-contained campsite with water access for your privacy and relaxation. Walking is possible along the banks of both river and creek, offering a great opportunity to explore the beauty of the area at your own pace. Both the creek and river, while narrower in this area, wind their way through the landscape, offering a charming and peaceful setting. Designated campfire spots with firewood provided (fire restrictions apply from November to March—please check with us). Pet-friendly policy—bring your furry friends along, just keep them controlled and clean up after them. What You’ll Need to Bring: This is a back-to-basics experience. You'll need to be fully self-sufficient, with your own camping toilet and waste disposal system. We follow a strict Leave No Trace policy to preserve the pristine natural environment for everyone to enjoy. Local Attractions: The charming town of Boort, just 20 minutes away, boasts a well-stocked IGA, an award-winning butcher, two cozy cafes, and water sports on Lake Boort. Kerang, only 30 minutes north, is your gateway to the stunning Kerang Lakes and wetlands. Pyramid Hill. Climb the hill or enjoy Parkrun on Saturday Whether you’re here to unwind, explore, or simply bask in the serenity of this riverside haven, Riverside promises an unforgettable camping experience where nature’s beauty takes center stage. Welcome to our 1st camping site on the 12 Mile Creek - Secret spot No. 2 The 12 Mile Creek frames the outer border of our farm and is actually wider and a greater flow than our treasured Loddon River. Secret Spot No. 2 is very similar to Babbler's Haven - offering a unique camping experience. Surrounded by River Red Gums, running water, and the cheerful wake-up call of Kookaburras and Cockatoos this secluded slice of paradise invites you to unwind and reconnect with nature. Our working sheep farm provides a peaceful and authentic country backdrop, and with just one campsite on the 12 Mile Creek, you'll enjoy exclusive access to your very own natural retreat. Whether you’re exploring the winding banks of the creek or simply soaking up the tranquility, the beauty and freedom of this secret site offers you the authentic camping experience What We Offer: A self-contained campsite with creek access for your ultimate privacy and relaxation. The 12 mile creek meanders for around 2kms on our farm so there is plenty opportunity to walk and explore the area. Feel free to throw in a fishing line or to swim. Both Murray Cod and Yellow Belly have been caught. Catching carp is always welcomed - please dispose Designated campfire spots with firewood provided (fire restrictions apply from November to March—please check with us). Bablers Haven was a peaceful and secluded camp ground, perfect for relaxing. Jo,s communication was easy as the site would not be easy to find without good instructions. Beautiful part of the Lodden river to camp on, and Boort was a great place to visit and swim in the lake on a hot day.

Pleasantly quiet space isolated which is exactly what we were after.. Jo was spectacular in communication and even left fresh eggs and the juiciest apricots in an esky for us at the gate- Amazing! Would highly recommend this place- only 20 minutes from town if you need anything!

Babbler's Haven Canary Island
A very private location with three fire pits to choose from all on the bank of a creek that provided great fishing even if it was just for the sport of it. Greeted upon arrival with a dozen fresh eggs. A very clean environment with plenty of firewood and Jo the host being very responsive, had mobile and TV reception and a 20 min drive to Boort where we spent the day on the lake fishing and swimming. Overall a great experience and will definitely be returning for more of the serenity, thanks Jo.

A beautiful, peaceful spot to camp. Magnificent gum trees and lots of bird life. Private and quiet, great for fishing and sitting by the fire. Would thoroughly recommend!

Absolutely lovely little spot. Away from everything yet close enough to duck to the local shops if needed. The host is lovely and helped me find my way after overshooting the driveway. Would highly recommend.

Flat and large camping area. It's by the river but unfortunately not great for swimming as lots of trees and debris. Lake Boort was about 20min drive and was lovely for swimming. Great for our dogs as they could be off leash. Lots of very big spiders and moths the size of small budgies! Jo was easy to communicate with.

We had a great time camping by the river. Was great to get some peace and quiet, it was very private and caught some fish too! Great spot for our two dogs as well. Jo was super communicative and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely loved our stay here- Jo was beyond kind, so helpful and accomodating and made us feel really welcome. Beautiful open site with lots to explore; gorgeous birds, frogs, eels and fish. Plenty of shade and loads of options of how to spread out. Fire pits were perfect for group cooking. You can feel the care that has been taken. Sweet details like the little insect hotels. What more could you want! We will definitely be back, thanks again Jo for such a special weekend.

We had a great stay on Jo's property, she was very welcoming and took us down to the camp site and help us settle in. The man made wetlands were fantastic with lots of wildlife. Very clean and private site which made for a very relaxing stay and even caught some fish. We will definitely return, Thanks Jo.

Amazing Stay on the Loddon River We had an absolutely fantastic time staying at this Hipcamp spot on the beautiful Loddon River. The location was serene and peaceful, surrounded by nature and the soothing sound of the flowing river. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The site was well-maintained and easy to access, with plenty of space for us to set up and relax. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We loved how close we were to the river—ideal for fishing, swimming, or just sitting by the water and enjoying the view. The sunsets were spectacular, painting the sky with vibrant colors, and the stargazing at night was unforgettable. This Hipcamp is a hidden gem, and we can’t wait to come back for another visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in nature!

We stayed 5 nights here and we loved it. You can tell that Jo really cares for the land. The bird life was a highlight and we enjoyed exploring the site and the surrounding towns. I never saw fish like this before, you could almost grab them with your hands.

Thank you so much for the privilege of my 3 night stay on your property. I felt like I was on my own little island paradise with no one around except the wildlife that inhabit the area.
