The property is surrounded by the Tyenna River and has an abundant of wildlife such as pademelons, possums, platypus, , Quolls, bandicoots, Eagles and other wildlife are frequently seen especially our resident echidna who wonders happily around the property. A footbridge across the river leads directly to Mount Field National Park, with the National Park Visitor’s Centre and the famous Russell Falls Waterfalls just meters away. The path passes through temperate tree fern rainforest, populated by glow worms. A minimum three nights stay is recommended as this area has so much to offer- Mt Fields walks and water falls- Junee caves- styx valley and land of the Giants- Strathgordon dam-creepy crawly walk-Lake Dobson- Rail track ride- Maydena adventure hub- Tassie bound adventures and you will need time to relax and enjoy Russell Falls cottages and the peaceful river, rain forest and birdlife.

Located in Southport, 15 minutes south of Dover, this is a great place to base yourself and explore the local region and all it has to offer. We are located within walking distance to the beach (250m), and the wharf (500m, and a great spot for fishing), and a short drive to Southport Tavern with take away shop 1.3kms (great meals).
There are also plenty of good bush walks in the area - Adamsons Falls, South Cape Track, Duckhole Lake and Hastings Caves. The thermal pools are also close by!
Camping here is for self-contained campers only, for those that have their own toilet. All waste is to be taken when you leave. We offer five-level grass sites with easy access.
Four have power and water hook-ups and one site with it close by. There is an enclosed campers kitchen, with hot water, gas BBQ, and a wood heater.

A private spot just for you, perfect retreat just 50 minutes south of Hobart. Pop up your tent or caravan by the rustic pickers hut shelter, on a private paddock within our farm, located right near the Huon River and just a stone's throw from Cygnet.
We offer a private space for just one group at a time. Happy to accommodate larger groups if required. Please contact us if you are needing a larger family/friends group and for shared Special Events camping occasions.
No doubt our Tilly dog will visit for a hello and a pat. We have additional electric fences if farm animals are close to the camping area. Take in a great therapeutic cool morning swim in the river, and beach combing along the driftwood shore is fun to do.
Our dusk and night skies in the valley are truly magic. Watch the colours on the hills, mountains, and water change in front of your eyes, so pour a local wine and seat yourself on a good stump or camp chair and enjoy.
Choices for day trips and activities are boundless as in all directions you can visit many National Parks, waterfalls, beach coasts, and rivers.
We offer a pickers hut rustic shelter, picnic table, and bench along with a fire pit. (to be used in respect to fire bans). Firewood is available to purchase in advance. Please remember to bring your own fresh water to drink.
We're animal-friendly, so bring along your four-legged friend so long as they're controlled, and on a leash.
We have a Leave No Trace policy, so please ensure you leave the camp as clean and tidy as you found it, taking all rubbish with you.

Finding us couldn't be easier , just turn right at the welcome to Franklin sign when driving from Huonville. Our gate has two big gum stumps as posts. Early arrival/ caravan drop off possible. please contact us to arrange

The property is a 5 minute walk into the Historic town of Franklin, where there are are pubs and restaurants.
We have 2 flat sites and 3 slight gradient sites, all are far apart. All sites accessible by 2wd depending on weather.
There are no facilities, so the site is suitable for self contained campers only,
There is dump for toilet water. The site also has drinking water water available free.
Due to our children and our Alpaca on site pets must be kept on a leash.
Visiting children are welcome to help our kids feed Alpaca, just ask.

We live on a 3 acre farm with some beautiful views of Hartz view mountain in the lovely quiet Huon valley about 6 mins drive to the township of Cygnet, and 15mins to Kettering, were you can catch the ferry over to Bruny island.
We grow alot of our own fruits and veggies which you will get opportunity to see and taste when camping on our property.
We have a large fire pit, and a little private one, that you’re welcome to enjoy for cooking, or just for relaxing. We can provide fire wood for an additional fee.

Mountain River is a rural valley under the kunanyi/Wellington Range, in the Huon Valley, just half an hour from Hobart. Mountain River itself is a small river flowing from the back of kunanyi and joining the Huon River near Huonville. There are swimming holes in the river for the brave… it’s very cold!
Campsites are located on the riverbank, near the home or further afield.
Caravans and large Motorhomes cannot be accommodated. Rental vans - Apollo /Maui etc, are fine.
This is a great base for exploring the entire Huon area, from the nearby mountains to the Hartz Mountains, Hastings Caves, the Tahune AirWalk, and even the end of the road in Australia at Cockle Creek. All of these are possible as day trips.

A fabulous spot to camp! Less than an hour from Hobart and a short drive away from all the Derwent Valley has to offer!
This campground was easy to access in our 19ft caravan. Lots of green grass and space for the kids to run around and ride their bikes. Incredibly scenic and the sunrises were stunning!
We loved the addition of the fire pit with logs to sit on if needed.
