Private sites
98% of recent Hipcampers say the sites felt private.
Murray Valley Camping features campsites that are completely open in nature. Each site is close to the Murray River and is surrounded by nature, so you truly feel far away from the rest of the world. The property is close to the famous Bibbulmun track, with Harvey and Boddington equal distances away, so options to explore the region easily. Campers can go for walks along the river, relax, and enjoy the sounds of nature. Throw your kayak in for a paddle. Throw a line in and try your luck at fishing. As the day slips away, catch a beautiful sunset, as you toast marshmallows by the campfire (outside of fire restriction times). There are no toilets or amenities, so all campers need to be fully self-contained in that respect, with their own camp toilet and water, and we ask you to take all waste when you go. There’s also little to no cell reception at the sites. There is background noise from the nearby conveyer belt that goes on and off randomly. Some people take it as soothing white noise while others think it’s overbearing. Pet-friendly, so you're welcome to bring your four-legged friend along. Unplug from everyday life, escape and reconnect with friends and family in nature.

Site 2
A beautiful spot. Micheal the host was great. Unfortunately a few things let them down. The map on Hip camps isn't accurate, it shows Shady Nook as closest to to river but infact is furthest away. The photos are a bit misleading, and signage within the camp is almost no existent. He camp seems to be still under construction, I'm sure with a little bit more work it will a really special place, and look forward to going back in the future.

Rapid Corner
Smelly, noisy, dusty and muddy.
I was in two minds about leaving this review, as I don't like to be negative, but after a couple of days I thoght it more important to provide accurate feedback to the community. Overall, we were less than satisfied with our stay at Rapid Corner. Firstly, we struggled with a terrible smell for the first few days. The owner seemed indifferent but we eventually found some neglected flay traps in nearby trees that his partner had apparently placed - a nice gesture. We emptied them and removed the containers from the immeiate area, and the problem was eventially solved. The actual camping area has been dozed flat, so is very hard, dusty and covered in pea gravel. If there's no rain around, you will be incredibly dirty for your entire stay and will struggle to get tent pegs in and out. The river is largely inaccessible. If you do wander down there, the shallow water is surrounded by clay (as is the base of the waterway) that prevents you from enjoying it. The other major issue is the drone of machinery from the nearby mine, which runs for hours on end at any time of the day or night. Just when you start to relax by the twinkling sound of the stream, the crusher starts and you hear a background hum that pretty much ruins everything. This place is potentially worth pulling up for a night or two, but with free RV parking in Boddington (right on the river) for 48 hours and nearby equivalent campsites that are in crown land (and are free), then I can't really recommend this place.

Shady Nook
Perfect camp spot!
We loved staying at the Shady Nook site at Murray Valley! Perfect camp spot with shade, a short walk down to the river which was clean and cool. We will definitely be back again!

Site 6
River camping totally off grid…
Great spot by the river. Quiet and private. Site 6 has specific instructions on how to get there but we only got the main one which took us to the main sites. No coverage / wifi at sites means hard to communicate. Had to drive back along road and then send a message. Michael came and sorted us out. Lovely host very friendly and helpful. Clean site. Enjoyed our stay. Thanks for providing a lovely area to camp.
