We are closed for the summer harvest season, see you at Easter 2026, 20 kms south of Gnowangerup and 30 kms north of the Stirling Range, Kybelup Crossing Camp is located on our farm Kalynda and is found on the banks of the upper reaches of the Pallinup River at the Kybelup Crossing. We are a 90 hectare working farm, surrounded by large boardacre cropping farms. Half the farm is dedicated to cropping and open fields, with the remaining given over to regrowth and natural river bank forest. Go for bush walks on the property, birdwatching, orchid hunting, flat water canoeing in the river (conditions permitting). There is plenty of wildlife to spot, with Kangaroos and Echidnas making the river bank their home and plenty of bird life. Night spotlighting and you may see owls, kangaroos, possums and other marsupials. The Pallinup is a naturally salty river and is not palatable. We are within easy reach of the Stirling Range and the iconic Bluff Knoll. See the mountains from the farm and know what walking conditions will be like. September to October is the peak wild flower season, but there is something flowering all year. Use the farm as a base to explore the Stirling Range and the surrounding farming district of the Gnowangerup Shire. The farm is along the Horse Power Highway where visitors can see a collection of quirky tractors – download the tractor map. Take a day trip through the Stirling Range Drive and to the Porongurups, where you can stop at wineries along the way. Kalynda is a completely off grid property. Located up a private bush track. There is reasonable phone reception for Telstra customers only – enjoy the serenity and go off-line for a weekend. The camp sites are private, within an easy stroll of the river and the house yard. Campers need to be self sufficient (including bringing their own toilet) and leave no trace. Dogs are permitted but need to be restrained. Camp fires are permitted in the open fire season in the designated fire pits. Closest shop and fuel is at Gnowangerup (20kms) with limited opening hours on weekends and public holidays. Kybelup Crossing Camp is open for campers from Easter until mid October. We are closed over the summer and harvest period. Optional extras include: tank water, cut firewood.

The Brown Trap

The Brown trap is a tent only site, with plenty of parking close by. It is a 30m walk down a small slope from your vehicles. This site is tucked away and is in a private little Sheoak grove directly alongside the river. For the story behind the name of this site you will need to ask Mr Brown! Access to the river is a short walk along the bank, it is steep at the campsite

Wallis Flats Well

This site along side the main Wallis Flats site is a tent only campsite with plenty of room for three tents, tucked away, it is a shady and private site, within easy walk of the river. This site is alongside the Orchid Walk, where you can see a collection of beautiful orchids during the months of August through to October.

Wallis Flats comprises of a wide open area, shady parking site with fire pit and Chiminea and a smaller tent only grove, The Well, with its own fire pit (kids can camp away from the main group). It is within easy walk of the river and is sheltered and private. The large open flat area is perfect for kicking a footy or for a large group. This site is alongside our very own Orchid Walk, where you can see some of the small treasures that our great southern has to offer, best time for orchids is September and October. This site is suitable for caravans and large groups.

Central Park

Stardust is centrally located in the middle of a wattle grove with great views across our crop to the neighbouring farm and great views to the night skies. This site is the farthest from the river and wildflower walks, but is still in easy walking. The site is native grasses over sand. This site is suitable for larger caravans and larger groups.

The Far End

Canoelands

Canoelands is towards the eastern end of the property. It is amongst a Sheoak and Teatree grove, that has been known to be filled with water during exceptional high floods. It is still a short walk to the river. The site is suitable for tents, campervans, camper trailers.

Stardust
We stayed at Lyndall and Peter’s property for three nights, at the stardust campsite. The property was beautiful, with very private feeling campsites, and good size fire pit for cooking. Lyndall and Peter were very lovely providing us with a map of the property, giving good advice regarding local hiking and sight seeing. Overall fantastic experience.

The hosts are very friendly but also give you plenty of space, which makes for a really private and relaxing stay. They welcome you to explore the property, which is a lovely touch—there are some beautiful spots to discover along the river. We especially appreciated the thoughtful little details they’ve added throughout the grounds.

Amazingly beautiful property. Lyndall and Peter were fantastic, very accommodating and provided great instructions. Fire pit was a hit with the cold water. Definetly will go back again.

We had an amazing time at Kybelup Crossing. Peter and Lyndall were incredible hosts, we got in at 6:15pm in the evening and Peter escorted us to our campsite which already had a fire going! The camp was very private and close to the river with incredible star views at night. 100% recommend and we will definitely be back!

The Brown Trap
After a narrow sand track you arrive. The Brown Trap tent site is roughly 20 metres down from where you must leave your vehicle. This is not mentioned in the description. It has shaded trees & a small area around the provided fire pit. There is no grassy area, only sand. At the site there is no access as the river drops down sharply. Access to the river is a short walk away. This camp site was nothing like I expected so I did not stay. There are no bins, toilet or water as mentioned. Everything you take must be self contained. You will carry everything you need from your vehicle to the tent area.

We had a great time camping at Wallis Flats. Lyndall and Peter are lovely hosts, providing thoughtfully spaced and cleared campsites, firewood, firepits, and essential consumables upon request. The property features a view of the Sterling ranges, communal picnic areas, walk trails and a river running through with a swan boat for recreational use. The stargazing was phenomenal, as was the tranquility. There were mosquitoes and flies, so repellent and approproate clothing/ppe is recommended. Thank you for having us!

We loved our few days stay at Wallis flats. Wish we could have stayed longer (planning a return trip next year) as there is lots to explore. We enjoyed looking for Orchids on the Orchid walk as well as star gazing by the fire in the evening. Peter and Lyndall are amazing hosts, very welcoming and willing to share info about the local area.

Had a great stay on a recent Boys Trip to climb Mt Toolbrunup. Perfect location close to Stirling Ranges. Wallis Flat was a great site for us with a Van plus two Swags, peaceful setting and sheltered from the wind. Arrived late but met Peter and Lyndall who showed us to the site where they had already lit the fire for us earlier which was awesome. Plenty of firewood to keep us warm on the cold nights. Didn't get to explore the property too much due to a short stay but nice to.walk down to be river, and to see Peter fly over in his plane Sunday morning. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again.

Stayed at Wallis Flats camp. Plenty of space, open fire and chimenia on site. Also, short walk to plenty of Orchids. Easy drive back to Stirling Ranges, Bluff Knoll etc. Peter and Lyndall very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.

We just spent three at 'Wallis Flats' on Lyndall and Peter's property. Peter met us at their homestead - we jumped in his ute (including our Border Collie) and he took us for a tour of the acerage. Wallis flats is a huge area; we were spoiled for space. Easy walk to the river and their orchid walk. Wow! The orchids were amazing. Will definitely be back at a different time to see what new pops up. Nothing was too much trouble for them - cutting extra firewood - taking us for a picnic to another part of their property. Camp spot had a big fire pit and chiminea. Loads of room for our 19 foot caravan. Thanks for having us!

Wallis Flats & The Well
We had a wonderful night at Wallis Flats and wish we could have stayed longer. Our campsite was a big private clearing in woodland with an old cast iron fire stove which Peter had thoughtfully provided firewood for. We were given a map of the farm showing walks and, as nobody else was expected, we were told we didn't need to rush off in the morning. Highly recommend.

Awesome off grid farm stay. Peter and Lyndall were so friendly and helpful, the kids fed the chickens and the sheep. There was no shortage of wood to burn. We would definitely stay again when going to the Stirling Ranges.

Kybelup Crossing Camp
We loved the place, we had a great evening as we saw a lot of stars while having bonfire! Lyndall was very helpful, we feel secured and comfortable the rest of our stay. It’s a shame we only stayed one night but we look forward to stay longer in the future and will get to see the riverside of the place and will have an enjoyable time for a walk tour. Thank you Peter and Lyndall. ! See you later !

Lyndall and Peter were great hosts, with clear communication, directions, and meeting us to find the right spot. The block is just beautiful, a perfect camping getaway with the family and dogs. Lots to see and do with areas to walk and the river to play in - Thanks!

Kybelup Crossing Camp
We spent 5 days over the Easter Break at Kybelup Crossing Camp. The site allocated to us was great where the caravans were situated on level ground with plenty of space for 2 families. The farm has the Pallinup River running through it, where canoeing, paddle boarding and other water activities can be undertaken. There are many walks that can be undertaken on the farm. During the 5 days we were there there was no requirement to leave the property. However there are opportunities other sites within the area such as the Stirling Ranges to visit. Lyndall and Peter were excellent hosts who checked with us on a regular basis and took time to show us different areas on the farm. We would recommend Kybelup Crossing Camp to anyone seeking a relaxing break or a short stay to travelling to Esperance etc.

The location is just beautiful. So quiet and private with nice flat campsites on a huge property, right next to a river. Definitely worth a stay if in the area!
