This is a great place to camp! It's very private and quiet. The star gazing is great. Our spot was very shaded and wooded with electric hook ups and a hose. The hosts are very nice and communication was easy.

Our weekend at Shine & Rise was exactly what we needed! Jay was super responsive and I highly recommend getting the farm tour - my partner enjoyed asking questions about the farm and it was the perfect end to our trip. Campsite was spacious and Jay provided a large picnic table and a toilet for us which was great.
Short drive to Cape Charles and Savage Neck and there’s a Walmart 9 minutes away if you forgot anything.

We enjoyed 4 nights in our camper on Jay’s property. He was a great host providing us with lots of firewood for our campfires which we cooked on every day. The campsite is secluded, peaceful and we were able to visit lots of eastern shore sights from the property. Jay gave us lots of recommendations of places to go which we appreciated. Our dog was happy to be able to run around the property, too.

awesome property and very private. we had the chance to check in early and we enjoyed the quiet out there. very friendly hosts. great big fire pit and ambiance lights too. will definatley stay here again

Jay is a super kind host. I felt totally safe and comfortable at this perfect spot tucked away - both close to the road and secluded feeling. Had a nice fire and got a good rest. Super grateful for the opportunity to stay here after visiting Assateague and got a great recommendation for a local hidden gem along the bay. 🙏🏼💚

Jay was super helpful, the clearing where one camps is really lovely, tall trees all around you. At night there is a string of light high in the trees that light up the camp, they are dim and add ambiance. Definitely recommend the camp to those that like basic camping.'

We absolutely love this place. Jay is a great host, and the campsite is lovely. Pottapotty/composting toilet is a nice addition especially for first time camping friends. Fire pit and string lights are really nice as well!

The hosts greeted us so warmly! Our site was clean and ready for us to get set up. They made sure we had everything we needed before they left us to get settled. Our site was very private and we never heard any of the other guests that were there. We are going back this year for sure!!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Shine and Rise Farm, and I must say, it was a truly remarkable experience. From the moment we arrived, the vastness of the space struck me. The campsite offers plenty of room to spread out, which made our stay feel very private and serene. The natural beauty of the surroundings was breathtaking, with well-maintained grounds that blend seamlessly into the landscape.
The atmosphere at the campsite was incredibly calm and peaceful, perfect for a relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It was just what we needed to recharge and enjoy the simplicity of nature.
Additionally, the hospitality provided by Jay's family was heartwarming. His daughter made sure we felt welcome and was so knowledgeable about the land.
I highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a scenic, spacious, and peaceful camping experience. It's ideal for families, couples, or anyone wanting to escape into nature. We can't wait to return for another memorable adventure

I liked the privacy and tranquility of the camp site. Jay was an outstanding host: I only booked the site hours before as it was an impromptu trip. He led us to our spot, had few rules (more common sense stuff plus health tips to be mindful of poison ivy and don’t eat any surrounding mushrooms).
We were left to our own which I enjoyed immensely. The boys, the dog and I would come back.

Jay's land was amazing. We were in a very private location and felt very safe. No road noise, sky full of stars, and sounds of nature ❤️
Also, Jay was sweet enough to leave us fresh pears 🙌 best camping ever.
(There were a lot of daddy long legs, so be sure to pack things up before dark if you can)

This was my favorite camping spot yet! We got to roam around a bit and explore different wildlife that was growing nearby. It was a more secluded camping spot, which we really liked and the landowners left some goodies for us for our stay (lavender, pears, firewood, water hose)
The only thing I would say negative is there were a TON of spiders and daddy long legs all around the campsite once it got dark, which made us alert, but overall a great time!

We had a wonderful time camping at Jay’s farm. The farm tour was a magical experience and you can tell how thoughtful they’ve been in their planting and planning. The blueberries we got to try were the best berries we’ve ever had! If you’re looking for a magical weekend in the woods, look no further!

Shine and Rise Farm Forest site
This was the perfect resting spot on my way to Chincoteague Island-- peaceful, quiet and gorgeous. My hosts were friendly and welcoming and have put a lot of love into their space, offering an electricity hookup, decorated tent platform, and string lights in the trees for ambiance. A big highlight for me was seeing the amount of fireflies after dark. If I'm ever in the area again I would definitely book here.

We had an amazing time at the farm!!!! The location was private and serene! Jay was informative and beyond helpful (we killed our battery and he came to jump us). The farm tour was incredibly interesting and shed light in new ways to think about farming. I simply can’t say enough about this location! If you are looking for a place to reconnect with nature this is the place for you
