Therefore, we will not be selling firewood.* Welcome to Tucker's Rest. Time to sit back and relax in the beautiful surroundings of this 6 acre property. Located within easy access of all that the western end of the Otway's has to offer, and plonked in the middle of the Otway Harvest Trail. An easy 30 minute drive from Colac along bitumen roads from the Princess highway. 20 minutes drive from Gellibrand and the midway point of the Old Beechy Rail Trail. 40 minutes - Princetown. 50 minutes - 12 Apostles. 50 minutes - Californian Redwoods and Otway Fly 1hr 20 minutes - Geelong All scenic drives throughout some of the most pristine forests and farmland this side of Melbourne!! Whether it's a basecamp for day trips or simply somewhere to sit back and be immersed in nature and it's wildlife, accompanied by the sound of the trickling creek, Tucker's Rest has you covered. Easily walk straight from camp up from the valley and find yourself surrounded by ever-changing landscapes from pasture, sandy heaths full of grass trees and banksia, right through to the temperate rainforest that weaves its way through the valleys of the Otway Ranges. Hiking, trail-running, mountain biking and four wheel driving-there are loops that start and finish from here that are just waiting for you! The neighbouring farmland surrounds the property on one side and the Otway State Parks on the other which bring an abundance of wildlife underfoot and overhead. Whether it be the resident flock of Yellow-Tailed Black Cockatoo or the local pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles, the Fairy Wrens or the flocks of Crimson Rosellas, Koalas, Wallabies and Blue Tongue Lizards just to name a few, there is always someone to catch your attention! Recreational climbers will also enjoy the abundance of mature eucalyptus with sweeping limb walks and natural forms scattered along the property's boundaries. The Back Paddock offers campers a little more free reign in the sense there are not as many designated campsites made here and campers are welcome to take advantage of the open space. The paddock itself is approx. 2 acres and is bordered by the creek on one side, neighbouring farmland on the other with epic views across pasture and up the rolling hills to the south. The Back paddock has breathtaking sunset views and open skies!

Both Creek Bend Campsites are located on the inside 2 bends of the creek that runs through the middle of the property. Both sites are flat and would suit either tent or camper van set ups. The creek itself runs all year although a little slower throughout the summer period however campers will sleep with the sound of flowing water in the background whatever time of year it is. Campsite has good access and plenty of grass for setting up a good camp, paddock on one side and the Acacia lined creek on the other. Every site on the property takes in views of the surrounding valley ridges and bushland and pasture combinations. Vehicle access will suit all over the drier months but 4wd only throughout the winter. These sites are located on the house side of the creek and are overlooked by sites located at The View on top of the hill 100m away

Quiet slice of country life

A quiet, country retreat. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. We enjoyed exploring the area: 4WDriving, blueberry picking, rail trail ride, lunch at the geli pub. Very happy here for a few days.

We loved our stay at this site, nestled among the creek. We were greeted by the hosts with freshly baked cookies. It was such a pleasant stay. The sites were nicely spaced apart, with a very well functioned picnic table and brick well for the fire. We were really thankful for the lush full grass because it meant our dog wasn’t bringing any dirt in the tent! The toilet facilities were maintained very well too. We we would recommend others stay here.

Amazing place - perfect setup nestled into the bend of the river giving us all the room we needed (even though there were other campers around we didn’t really see or hear them). Easy to get into and set up, picnic table and fire pit for ourselves was perfect! We only stayed one night will def be back (especially for the delicious biscuits left by the lovely hosts - thank you!) Tip for other campers, bring cash if you want firewood! And as with any camping, there are a lot of flies especially in the lovely humid weather we had… certainly recommend this camping spot!!

We loved camping here! The hosts are lovely people and even brought us some anzac cookies on arrival. Beautiful peaceful spot, with sites nicely spaced out so you feel like you are alone with the view. Highly highly recommend.

Back Paddock Open Camping
Camping on Jess & Jakes property was so easy! It was my first camping experience and they made it so relaxing and easy going. You have so much space! I was able to set up a markeed and have my car right there. Also a pure pit (if you know how to light a fire). Being located in the Otways was so so easy to get around all the tourist sight on the great ocean road. 10/10 would recommend :)

A lovely grassy campsite, very private, quiet and super clean. Can recommend a stay here however we were smashed by flies in the daytime then hoards of mosquitoes at night. This was probably a wet summer thing and wouldn’t be the case all the time, but that was our experience, so I’d suggest future campers take plenty of precautions.

Warm welcome. Beautiful, peaceful spot, exactly as advertised. Spacious sites. Great position, central to much of the otways. We enjoyed a lovely 16km hike straight from the camp ground, thanks to Jake's reccomendation. Composting toilet was fantastic. Mozzie's did come out in big numbers at night, so pack the bushman's!

We really enjoyed the night on the paddock. Great private spot. We made a little camp fire to warm us up. Jake came past to say hi and left some cookies for us. We liked the paddock and would stay again. ☺️

The view!
Amazing place with beautiful view. Jake was an amazing host, gave us some baked goods, that was such a nice little extra! They kept in touch and made sure we didn’t get lost :) super recommended to anyone who loves nature and wants an escape. The stars at night were unbelievable!!

We stayed at Jess and Jake's property for two nights and had a lovely time. It was the perfect place for a quiet, relaxing getaway, and we felt very looked after during our stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a serene country getaway!

Lovely night away here at Jess and Jakes place, so peaceful and relaxed. We took our little 2 year old on her first camping trip and she loved it. Surrounded by paddocks with cows and a nice fire pit to sit and relax. We had clear skies too so the stars were amazing. The compost toilet was great too.

Away from it all !

Creek Bend Campsite
Jake was on hand to greet us and help us find the best spot for our camp. Whilst we did book Creek Bend site we ended up pitching at the big gum corner on the left side prior to the bridge. Jess also greeted us with some homemade Anzac cookies YUM ! which was the perfect snack beside the fire. The location is far away from the road, so no traffic noise, also no flight paths. Just the sounds of the many local birds and the trickle of the gently flowing creek. Sit back at night and take in the best night sky. Jake's new camp toilet was a bonus too. Highly recommend and we look forward to visiting again.

Enjoyed our camp site, was very clean and Jake was great to chat with when we arrived. Toilet was new and clean! Was a bit windy during our stay and the tarp on our tent seemed to enjoy the wind a bit more than expected while we were away but we were extremely happy to see that it had been pegged down while we were away to ensure it didn't blow away! Thank you so much for all your help during our stay :)

Gem of a campsite with a nice little creek. Flat enough ground to set up camper or tent with minimal wheel chock. Lots of wildlife around. Fire pit was great and host was very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
