Fate bought us here! We just love camping, travelling, the bush. When we missed out on booking a property where we had hoped to stay we did a quick search for a plan b, and found a place to camp in Wedderburn. Our plan b turned to be a wonderful property with a great host and we just loved the area! As luck would have it the property next door came up for sale, and now our great hipcamp host is our great neighbour, and we have a beautiful piece of the bush of our own!Bush Tranquility at Wedderburn. A peaceful location with bush views but just minutes from Wedderburn township for a meal or a latte! Wildlife and bush trails in historic goldfields area. Our lovely little property (approx 2 acres) has bush behind it, trees and paddocks (with kangaroos!) either side, and shares a front fence with the forest itself. This campsite is best suited to self-sufficient campers as you need to bring your own toilet, shower, rubbish amenities and drinking water. Campfires permitted outside of fire-ban season, and well behaved dogs are welcome. Walk, ride or drive the bush trails, pop into town for a coffee or a meal, or explore the wider goldfield areas and attractions.  The property is under 2.5 hours drive from Melbourne, and only 56 minutes from Bendigo. Explore the nearby country towns of Inglewood, Bridgewater on Loddon, St Arnaud, Dunolly and Charlton. Local attractions include Hard Hill Tourist Reserve, Kooyoora State Park, Mt Korong and the Melville Caves just 20 minutes away. We're slowly and carefully replanting areas of the block, so ask that all visitors tread gently on the land and respect the plants and wildlife that we love so much here. (No digging permitted on the property). At this time the property is best suited to tent and camper trailer camping (with future plans for an off grid accommodation offering). For bigger groups of friends/families and those with large caravans etc we highly recommend the property of our neighbour - Wedderburn Base Camp (searchable on this platform).

Snooks at Possum Point
The stay at Snooks Point was great, it was so peaceful. The only sound was the nature. It was lush. The tent spot was flat and easy to setup. Not far from town with its amenities and the beautiful walks and rivers in the area and yet you arrive and feel like you’re the only one around.

The site is very pretty and the walks in the area are pretty special. The block is a lot smaller than what we have experienced before and you are right next to the house that is being built, but it is still worth the get away

Camping in the gum trees
We had the best stay at Snooks! We arrived in the late afternoon and the light was so beautiful in amongst the gum trees. Plus so many birds!! Was very kind of Darren and Sophia to leave a fire pit and stacks of wood. Was the perfect night for a fire under the stars :) There is a farm next door but still felt super private. Great and easy to follow instructions to get there as well. We didn't have our own toilet but was easy enough to head into Wedderburn town center the next morning to use the public bathrooms.

Beautiful bushland block
Beautiful bushland property - and clearly a loved and respected property. We really enjoyed our stay. We had roos jump past on dusk, and the cockie witching hour at dawn and dusk - truly amazing. Despite this - a quick 5 min drive to Wedderburn - which meant access to shops, cafes and toilets, while all your camping gear is secure onsite. Loved being able to visit regional Victoria and contribute to local economy. Would recommend Aerogaurd/Bushman for dusk - the only downside - but only bad on dusk - quickly fixed w lighting a campfire. Definitely would recommend!

Lovely peaceful spot
Snooks is a lovely small bush block - I guess a few acres. It's easy to find, google maps took me right there, but Sophia gave good directions too. I loved it. Great bike tracks right out your front door and i enjoyed the kangaroo sightings, even watching two young males play fighting. Farm fencing, gated and no livestock around. Sun sets through the gums and morning mist settles all around you. Took my own 'leave no trace' fire pit and there was plenty of wood I was welcomed to (although had brought my own also). Thanks for sharing.
