Your “home away from home” the Happy Wanderer Holiday Resort is a small family owned and operated tourist resort centrally located between Horsham and Halls Gap on a sprawling 40 acres of attractive bushland in the Wartook Valley adjacent to the Grampians National Park. Wartook Valley known as the home of kangaroos and Mountain Views, Wartook Valley is a scenic area Northwestern side of the Grampians National Park. Famed for its organic olive plantations, native wildflowers, wilderness and wildlife, waterfalls and outdoor activities, there is plenty of choice for things to do. Explore some of our beautiful waterfalls such as MacKenzie Falls, Beehive Falls, Fish Falls and other must-see regional attractions right here on your doorstep. Lake Wartook and the Mackenzie Creek, an angler's haven for catching brown trout and red fin. Follow the Grampians Fishing Trail for more information. The diverse terrain and tracks of the Grampians National Park in your 4WD vehicle. For some suggested self-drive tours have a look at the Grampians Northwest Region Great Outdoors Recreational Guide, An abundance of native trees and shrubs are planted throughout the grounds, attracting a great variety of wildlife including birds and a large population of kangaroos and visiting emus. A place to truly disconnect and be at one with nature and the natural elements of air, mountains, sun and breeze, to focus on your basic needs of physical and emotional peace and relaxation. The Happy Wanderer Holiday Resort features an in-ground solar-heated swimming pool, a full-size tennis court and two half-courts. We have an outside children’s playground, a camp kitchen, and a recreation room. Grab some supplies and head to our undercover BBQ marquee area or inside and outside fireplaces and wood barbeques. A large amenities shower and toilet block and laundries are easily accessible. We also boast a well-equipped general store, petrol station and bottle shop on site for your convenience. It's easy access to enjoy and explore the natural attractions of the Grampians such as McKenzie Falls, Beehive Falls, Zumstein's, Lake Wartook, Boroka Lookout and Troopers Creek Lookout, the Happy Wanderer Holiday Resort is the perfect memorable place to stay.

We stayed in a powered site for several nights due to the cooler weather otherwise we would have chosen the bush sites. The bush sites have amazing views of the Grampians, picnic tables and privacy. They are a distance from the amenities but if you’re self sufficient these are hands down the best sites on the property. The pwr sites are closer to amenities many still have a lovely bush outlook, sites are a reasonable size and easy accessible. Check in was easy and friendly. Fuel onsite. There is several tennis courts, basketball and a pool. The amenities were sufficient, however if your a big name caravan park type of individual you may struggle with the water pressure or camp kitchen offerings, however if you prefer to steer clear of crowds and love natural settings this place is for you. Great spot, really enjoyed!!

We loved the cabin in the winter. Phill was a great host and gave us the advice we needed to plan our days. One of the most beautiful nature experiences we've had. It felt like we packed 3 weeks into 3 days.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Happy Wanderers Resort! Phill was incredible host — warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about sharing their beautiful piece of land with visitors. What stood out the most about their property was the peaceful, spacious setup nestled right at the base of the stunning Grampians. The campgrounds were thoughtfully maintained, with plenty of flat, grassy areas to pitch a tent or park a camper. Each site felt private and well-spread out, surrounded by nature and offering breathtaking views of the mountains at sunrise and sunset. We loved how close it was to hiking trails, waterfalls, and local attractions, yet it still felt like a hidden retreat away from the crowds. Waking up to birdsong and ending the night under a spectacular starry sky made it truly magical. The facilities were clean and convenient, with good access to water and basic amenities. If you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic camping experience in the Grampians with genuinely lovely hosts, Happy Wanderers Resort is a perfect choice. We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely loved the view. There were some loud campers, but it’s understandable given that it was a long weekend (Easter). Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would definitely book again.

Amazing camping experience! My partner and I booked an unpowered site while we explored the Grampians! This place has everything you need , the mountain view scenery was beautiful, big land to explore, camp fires, communal bbq, camp kitchen, warm showers, a pool, tennis courts and a rec room. Sites were really spaced out so we couldn't hear any other campers and we had kangaroos around the site at dawn and dusk, so amazing! The location is great for the Grampians hikes as well. 30 mins to Halls Gap but some hikes even closer. Loved it!! Thanks so much for having us :)

Beautiful bit of land with mountain views, heaps of space, clean amenities and even a small general store with liquor and snacks! Huge kitchen and rec area. We were in the non-powered back lot and there was lots of kangaroos around in the morning and at dusk.

We loved our Easter weekend at happy wanderer! So much space, great facilities and the owners put in a lot of effort to make sure everyone is happy. The special live music on Sunday was a highlight! Thanks Jillian & Phil, we’ll definitely be back again :-)
