Port Germein Camping
Kiran had no idea we were booked in when we rang. Drove around for ages finding the right spot. Ended up in a salt bush area, not sure if it was the right spot.

Would not recommend, terrible directions, host was incredibly vague and felt like I was bothering him even tho we paid him money. We didn’t end up staying as it wasn’t true to its add. Horrible spot.

The campsite actually doesn’t exist, it’s just a piece of public tidal mangrove swamp with cleared areas that with the tide and rains floods and becomes soft mud. On the given path in we become bogged suddenly in this soft mud and had to have locals pull us out. They explained to us that there was in fact no campsite there and we shouldn’t stay there. They explained the owner was likely just taking our money for the use of what is already public land. When bogged we attempted to contact Kieran the host and he ghosted us so if it wasn’t for the locals we wouldn’t have been able to get out at all. Do not bother paying for it if you feel like staying there because you don’t have to but it would also not be recommended as it is just soft tidal salt flats.

Huge amount of land with a lot of potential. Host was good on communication and quite casual about picking a spot (anywhere you like!)
We explored about half of the land before we had to pick a place to set down because it was getting dark. Found 2 decent sized flat patches to set the swag down on, 1 was at mild risk of the tide, so we opted for a patch closer to the cell tower.
The dog loved having a sniff and rolling in the dirt! Saw a couple kangaroos but not a huge amount of wildlife otherwise. Very private, scenes of the ranges one way and sunset the other were great.

Hard to find a dry and clean spot.
Ocean tide flooding the property. Hard to get in or out on high tide even with 4WD. We went for a drive in the little town of Port Germein and hardly got back to the property.
It’s like camping on a salty lake.
Never go back again!!!
