Located in the town of Beltana, the campsites are adjacent to the local hall. There are showers, toilets, a free BBQ in the community park , mobile phone coverage and potable water available We are the closest campground to the new Nilpena Ediacara National Park. Please do not go down the 4WD only road to Beltana, proceed to the bitumen Road and follow the signs. Beltana is a State Heritage listed town in Adnyamathanha country. Beltana is important as it is the home of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, was influential in the establishment of the Overland Telegraph and was important is the states early settlement. Beltana has survived in spite of the challenges and has an excellent walking trail detailing this history for visitors. There is capacity to have a fire in a communal fire pit, but please bring your own wood. Dogs on leashes welcome. This campsite offers a safe and comfortable place for campers who are travelling through on their holiday and need somewhere to stop overnight, but two nights is recommended to give you a chance to visit this historic town. The town is significant is South Australian history and there is interpretative signage that provides the visitor with an informative trail. Whilst with us visit the new Nilpena Ediacara National Park. We have the closest camping facilities.

Very clean showers and toilets. Fresh water to top up supplies. Quiet. Great pub food. And only 20mins to Nilpena Ediacara National Park - a must see while in Beltana (essential to book ahead)

A nice campground ideal for a night or two, and is close to Nilpena-Eticara NP. (Ideal if you’re doing the 09:30 tour the following morning.) The facilities were clean and well maintained. The town is pretty quiet but apparently the pub does open on weekends. Nice vibe.

Beltana is simply a gem in this drier part of the Flinders. The Royal Hotel, for crying out loud, thrives here with its marvellous hosts and love of the place. Have dinner if you can as it will be memorable to sit in oldly worldy dining rooms chatting to others at the end of the given day!

Great campground. Small number of sites with plenty of space. Very quiet with beautiful sunset. Very reasonably priced with hot showers and even a washing machine. Interesting historic village as well as the Sliding Rock mine only 22km away. Stayed 3 nights

Amenities were modern and clean. Laundry on site. Camp sites are good size and well sign posted. Beltana town is a good walk with interesting info boards. Do visit the cemetery and look at the railway siding.

Quite large sites and facilities (hot showers and toilets) very clean and well maintained. Interesting historic town with plenty of information signposted. Local pub (Royal Victoria Hotel) is being lovingly restored and hosts Jan and Chris look after patrons well - currently open Thurs - Sun 4-6pm for drinks / snacks and Fridays until 8 with dinner possible. Enjoyed our stay (2 nights).

Beltana was a lovely surprise and we were so glad it was recommended to us. We hadn't booked. However the phone reception was really good so we proceeded to book and pay through Hipcamp. Easy as. I guess it's easy to dodge the donation but the campground and community deserve a payment. The toilet and showers were totally fantastic., clean and spacious. There is a tap that provides drinking water. A firepit, picnic table, small kids playground, with a hop scotch set up, 2 swings and a teepee for the kids. The tree plantings have started to good shade in an area good for sitting and fiddling with your phone. Free community WiFi is available. The community have put in hard work to bring this campground up to 5 star. There is a pub in town, The Victoria Hotel. It has limited open times, mainly Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sunday. A lovely historic village with a nice walk around with historic & general information. Definitely worth the detour and the stars were beautiful.
